Do the early one, Id rather sit in the area past security, than wait standing up in a long line. We normally show up around 10:30ish and haven't had a problem. The lines were already open. It was a bit hectic waiting for all our party to get there with people debarking, but we dealt with it. I focus on being extra patient that day! :)

How do I check for price drops for free when my room category isn't available anymore. I'm in spa balcony

Personally, I like long reviews...I just get tired when it takes people 3 months to get from embarkation to debarkation...for a 5 day cruise

This morning I was checking my e-mail and in my inbox I had a Past guest bonus email, It stated "countdown to vacation starting at $249 and 50% reduced deposits with Bouns past guests receive up to $75 onboard credit".
My question, I just booked my curise last week, I just checked to see if I had a price drop and did not, but can I get some of my deposit back? and am I eligble for some of the past onboard credit as I am a past guest?
Thanks!
These "specials" really aren't always that good. If you book early saver, you normally don't get past guest OBC since early saver is cheaper...at least that's what I've found when I've researched it.

Yes. Whatever is easier. Carnival website is really easy to use. Their phone system is nice. For a small cruise, I prefer to just use the website. But when my family cruises, I always call the 800 number and the PVP can help me with the rooms that have the inside door (since we have small kids)

Pay attention to the dress code, a recent cruise critic contributor was denied a table for wearing shorts on elegant night. Some boats may be more relaxed than others, but at least make an attempt please! Nice collared shirt and dress slacks at the minimum. My husband prefers a sports jacket and no tie. There will be men who go all out with 3 piece suits and tuxes, and ladies in long formal gowns.
Yes to the case of water, tap water is safe (doesn't taste the greatest, but it will do). Collapsible Small cooler, like what would hold a six pack, is fine. Your steward can bring you ice every day. We've taken a large water bottle and filled it with the tropical fruit juice from breakfast and taken it off the boat without any problems.

Not being nasty just curious...do you also return to the ship at port to eat lunch since you have already paid for it?
My family does. Feeding 6 people in port is ridiculously expensive. And I have a bad food allergy, so it's too hard trying to explain it and hope the cooks don't make me sick. We normally get off the boat really early and return around 1:30 or 2 for a late lunch

I've read that the whole fleet will have the new menu by the end of this year.

The flat iron has always been delicious for me, I would compare it to a steak like at Outback Steakhouse. Now if I wanted a Ruth's Chris steak, then I would go for the steakhouse. I really like the offerings in the MDR and haven't had a bad meal yet.

Free drinks - art auctions. Normally you get one glass. There will be a drink of the day and occasional times that will get you a small discount, but booze is expensive. If you plan to drink, plan to pay.
Spa - watch for the specials at embarkation.
Salon- yes they do, have no idea if they're any good. The change in water always turns my hair to a curly/frizzy mess, so I just deal with it myself.

Birth certificates will do. And make sure your younger kids know their birthday. Customs agents asked all of my kids their birthdays at embark/debarkation. I was pleasantly surprised that my 4 year remembered hers

Here is a small snippet of music that was playing on our last cruise. (My son was showing off his swimming skills.) So imagine you turn this on as loud as you possibly can, and then put it right next to your ear!!! The music is normally so loud it's hard to Carry on a conversation

On my last cruise, I attempted to do stuff with the TV but it was so slow it was kind of worthless. The deck cam was about all I could get to work. But I was on the bottom of the boat :)

So if you're lucky enough to find your favorite brand of water in a can, then you can bring it. :)

I waited 45 minutes in the comedy lounge before I was able to get on the tender about. We showed up there around 830 in the morning. Next time? I would definitely show up earlier. Grab something quick off the Lido deck and go get your number. Also, have a plan excursion if you're going to do the tender. I'd like to just go shopping and looking around and there is nothing much to do their due to safety concerns. So yes, to answer your question, a direct booking for an excursion would get you a faster tender time

I always use a hotel with parking, with the hotel it's always cheaper than paying port prices for 7-8 day cruises.

We went mid-Sept last year, and there were still plenty of kids on board. Camp Carnival seemed pretty full. But the bigger boats do help with this issue, so the Dream/Breeze will have more room for you to spread out. My husband likes the quiet places, and he has no troubles finding them

Love the kids program! It's chocked full of activities all day long. Some ports our kids would rather stay and play with their friends vs. shopping so I'll let them. We let the kids eat at camp for dinner every night with their friends (except the first one since camp carnival is closed) and then we go off and have the evening to ourselves. Our last cruise, the kids were 4, 6, 9, and 10. I felt very safe with leaving them with their counsellors, and they had a blast!

It's interesting that you asked for opinions but don't want to hear anything negative? Not sure that is going to get you a realistic view of what to expect, but that's just me. Park West has been involved in numerous lawsuits and if you Google them, you will get the real picture. That said, as long as you have the money to buy the pictures (can't necessarily define it as art) and you know 100% going in that you are buying prints that they will charge you an exorbitant amount of money to frame and ship to you, then who are we to define what you do or do not do with your money. I have been to a couple of the "auctions" and realized, much as the high pressure sales tactics of timeshare companies, if they have to "high pressure" me into buying, it's probably something I don't have any business buying. This is speaking only for me. You must do what is right for you.
I know that Park West has had trouble and issues with lawsuits, and I was trying to avoid that. I hate it when posts get blown up with controversy. My question is has anyone just enjoyed them for nice-looking art on their walls. Not as major investments but just something that's nice to look at. And what people's opinions were once they got them up on their walls.

Who has bought from Park West and how was your experience? Please no complainers how this is bad art etc...obviously I know I'm not buying a Monet etc. But some of them are really nice, even if they are just copies

So THAT's the Havana Bar, we will definitely be eating there the first day. Finding seating for 6 on the Lido tends to be impossible at Embarkation

If she's ok with being dropped off at daycare or nursery etc, then she should do ok with camp carnival. They will give you a phone so they will be able to call you on board if she continues crying. But the workers are really good at distracting the kids and getting them involved in age-appropriate play.
Camp Carnival doesn't start until the 2nd day around 10 am, so plan on some activities for you and her

Lido deck
I really have enjoyed the rotisserie. The chicken or turkey is better than the beef. Guys Burgers (YUM!) And their fries are delicious. Blue Iguana - I can't eat the wheat shells, so I have them make it into a taco salad, so delicious! I think my last cruise I had 3 of those.
Breakfast - order made omelets are delicious
MDR
The fruit soups - strawberry or peach. SO good!
Salads are consistently fresh and look appealing
Prime Rib has been consistently good and tender
Lobster?? Not my favorite, but most people seem to like it
Chocolate Melting Cake is always good, remember to pair it with different flavors of ice-cream/sherbet. My favorites are butter pecan or orange sherbet.

Balcony's are best for 2. I doubt the kids would like it. Oh, and have a plan for Cozumel. There isn't much to do at the port besides shopping.
Just out of curiosity
