Ok so does the crew have to hand over tips directly handed to them or not? If they do then why do people tip “above and beyond” the automatic gratuities? I’d like to know, because if they do I am going to stop doing that because there’s no point. I want to directly acknowledge the people providing direct service to me and my family.
edited to add that we asked our steward and waiter on our last cruise if they would be able to keep cash we directly gave them and they said yes.

We used On Point for our last cruise and had no issues. The test was easy as we could all do it in one 15 minute block and they gave us results both online and a PDF. We used a print out of the online results which didn't look as professional as the PDF, but it had all the information. The PDF actually lacked the CLIA number.
I have seen other posts on here as well that the print out from the website has worked fine for On Point.
Thanks for posting this. I did a trial run for one of my kids with onpoint yesterday. I was concerned to see the pdf did not have the clia number, but noticed the portal did. You think I’m good if I print both of we use them for the cruise? Thanks

Still won’t work for me😤

Can anyone tell me what time online check in opens on the app?
Also how do I check in on the app for more than one cabin?
I was going to just download the app on another phone for the second cabin but was hoping there was an easier way. Just want to make sure we all have the same check in time.Thanks.

We're booked on the same cruise (hope to see you at the Schooner Bar). Oasis made one run already to Miami to vaccinate crew. Keep in mind, under CDC guidelines, fully vaccinated people don't need to quarantine. If they use the J&J, they could have an entire crew in on about two weeks notice (but I suspect they will be working on a weekly basis to crew up their ships to be ready for July sailings) -- I suspect they might be running crew through Miami before sending them to ships after shots. Additionally, as noted elsewhere, they have a full two-week (not 30 day) process for quarantining crew on ship, which started back in April.
I put our chances of sailing out of Bayonne at more than 60%.
That’s the thing, if they used any other vaccine it’s a 6 week process just to have the crew ready. Did they vaccinate the whole crew for the ship or just the skeleton crew? So many logistics.

Does anyone know anything or have any speculation about the Anthem Southern Caribbean Holiday Cruises? TY

Thanks for checking!

I checked that out and don’t see anything listed about the cabins being linked. I will give them a call tomorrow. Thanks for trying to help, I appreciate it!

It should be at the bottom of your booking confirmation in the section titled Guest Notes.
We booked through an online TA and don’t see that anywhere. The TA said it’s done but I wanted to confirm with Carnival
somehow. I don’t see it on the cruise manager on carnival site.

We had 22 people who all booked with different people and as long as they had my booking number they were able to put all 22 of us together in 2 tables. I was the only one they needed and they linked us all together it worked out fine.
Thanks. We’re you able to call Carnival to have them do it?

You can always call Carnival and ask them if you are not sure. That's what we did to make sure that my aunt's, my mom's, and my bookings were linked. They were very helpful.
Oh I thought I couldn’t call them if I booked with w a TA?

Is there a way I can make sure
my two cabins are linked for dining? I used
a TA who says they are linked but I like to double check everything. Would it be indicated on the Carnival website?
thank you

The site doesn't compare the prices and perks. You basically submit a quote request and multiple TA's bid for your travel. One warning is to read carefully as many bids are not for what you have asked to be bid on. Feel free to contact me by e-mail in my signature.
I can’t find your signature to get the email. Cruise critic says I can am only allowed “0”
private messages a day. 🤦🏻♀️ I don’t know why. So I did what you suggested and the amount of OBC coming back with the quotes is 250$ and 275$ and my travel agent told me maybe $50, he said it depends on his commission. I’m really bummed now! It’s a big difference because I have two cabins booked.

Google on words Cruise and Compete. We are not permitted to actually post other agency websites.
Thanks. Wasn’t sure if you could send a message or something. Thanks for the help. I like my agent but I’ve booked a lot lately and want to make sure I’m getting what I should be.

We use one of several high volume cruise agencies who have served us well over the years. Our norm is to get at least 7% and often 10%+ in savings with extra on board credits (OBCs) and other amenities. Since we book longer cruises our savings often exceed $1000 when compared to what we would spend if we book directly with a cruise line.

Can you tell me who you use some how?

For comparison if helpful: Booked 2D Veranda 12 night Caribbean on Silhouette via TA.
Got the classic bev package from Celebrity + our TA threw in OBC ($325/room) & pp grats ($348/room)
We use a well known site to compare multiple online TA agencies & then go with the best offer. BUT (as others have already said re. big box stores) we have to do a lot of the work ourselves. We get prompt/fast/efficient service when we call/email our agent for help but she does not watch pricing nor could she 'hold our hand' so I'm not advocating this for all, it's just what works for us.
I know this post is old but how can I find out what the site is that compares the travel agent pricing

Best review ever! Thanks

And you wouldn't know if they added it until the second day of the cruise?
Correct, it's just between you and the travel agent. -
Perfect thankyou! I'm trying to login via laptop instead of my
Phone and maybe I will see it there. If not I will call them. It's also my first time actually having OBC From both the line and the agent and I don't want to get ripped off haha. It seems like there's not much reassurance when a travel agent says they are going to give it to you huh? Just have to take their word?
My children gave me a gift certificate and I've applied it toward OBC. After a while and it not showing up and me not knowing if I had applied it correctly, I called RCC and the agent confirmed that it was there, but it wouldn't show up on my reservation. After a while of my grumbling & fussing, he emailed me a copy of my confirmation that showed it. Because of the way it's showing, or not showing, I can't use that credit towards purchasing any drink package, etc. -
Thanks for the reply,
I still can't find it on the cruise planner.

Is there a place on the website where it shows the OBC given from RCCL and from a travel agent for an upcoming cruise? I just want to make sure I have what I was told I was getting. Thankyou!

Does the outside door that leads to both rooms have a regular lock like the cabin doors and both keys from each cabin work to unlock it?
From what I recall, each door has their own lock. Just put the "do not disturb" sign on any of the doors that you want privacy.
-
Perfect! Thank you so much. I was hoping the outer door locked so we could keep the other doors open. Do you have to request the doors to be locked by the steward or are you able to just lock and unlock it yourself? Thanks for taking the time to reply.
quote=Dorh;53622730]We were in cabins 9510 and 9508 last year. Cabin 9510 is a very large 302 sq.ft. cabin. There is a door from the main corridor that connects to a small corridor to enter cabin 9510 or 9508. They are not really connecting cabins, but if you lock the door from the main corridor, you can leave your 2 doors open and have easy access to both. We kept the 2 doors open with privacy from the main so our grandchildren could run in and out of both cabins. Hope this helps you.

Hi,
Did you end up staying in this cabin?
Can you answer the question if the foyer door can lock so that the two cabin doors can be left open? I have a lot of kids and there's no connecting cabins that fit us so this is my only option.
One more question... Is there a lock on the first door that you go through to the shared hallway/area, so that both cabin doors could be left open to go from one to another while that first door remains locked? Thanks again!
