So we are sailing on the Encore tomorrow and we pre booked and fully paid our Vibe passes for the 10 day sail. We just received an email from NCL advising us that due to a “glitch” in their system they cannot accommodate our booking and the passes will be cancelled and refunded. We planned our trip based on having the passes - forgoing some excursions to enjoy the Vibe etc so we are very disappointed. Has this happened to anyone? Do we have any recourse?

    O fork

man we are like you and base sailing on vibe pass, I would be so pissed.  Hope it get resolved

  2. We did Bermuda on joy last July and doing her again this July.

she is a great ship and for us the additional thermal spa being put in from dry dock is a added bonus.

    public transportation is nice there.

3 beaches, horseshoe bay, personally I found it crowded ,  I would choose tobacco or Clearwater.

we rented a car(scary) and went to our own hidden beach.

    the caves, aquarium looked interesting.

there is a activity area, bouncing stuff in water, very large at port.

    Add Viva.

NCL money grab selling something which is included in your cruise fare. Many people buy passes, few people use them more than a day or two. On our cruise last week, it was closed or unusable on multiple days due to temps or weather. On our cruise last month to Alaska, even though it was sold out to people who "would not sail without a Vibe pass", there was very limited use of the space.

The vibe is great for a warm weather cruise. We wouldn’t sail without unless it was a Alaska or Canadian cruise.

If you like fighting for a chair the main pool is great for you

What you were told and/or read is not what has happened in my experience.  The certificates are applied as a deposit, any payment prior to final payment date is always a deposit. Unless you are not in the US, then the terms might be different.

Just go to your account, use them to make a payment and they will either accept or reject that payment, depending on the current terms of use. The only effect on your reservation is a payment.

Unless of course the terms have changed in the last month, since I just applied an additional one (double up promo) to a booking I made almost 2 years ago and still has a few months to go before final payment is due...

That’s what several people on this board said.

I talked to cruise next deck onboard, my Pcc and I called cruise next phone.  It wasn’t worth trying to risk price change

For mid range decent hotels try Sheraton Old San Juan for pre cruise and Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Beach Resort for your post cruise stay.

There are many others...check out prices for your dates and see what fits your budget.  You can come back and ask about specific hotels that appear to suit your needs.

    Thank you!

Central OSJ is not close to a decent public beach.

If one books El Convento in central OSJ, then one can use the beach at LC being part of the same group.

Open to ideal of 2 different hotels for pre and post cruise

pre cruise thinking old San Juan

    post beach

Do you want a hotel on the beach?

A hotel in Old San Juan?

    What's your budget?

When will you be staying in Puerto Rico?

How long will you be staying?

What activities or sightseeing are you planning?

Do you have loyalty club affiliations or preferences for any particular hotel chain?

Staying 2 days pre cruise, 1 day post

i am thinking old San Juan pre and close to beach post

pre want to do a rain forest tour, maybe a food tour

    post beach

    no loyalty

Sailing next April on the Encore to Alaska. We like the idea of having a glass of wine or two on our balcony. Other than room service or the stocked fridge (mini bar) how do you get drinks to have in your cabin?

Walk to bar and get drinks
