First time cruiser usually don't have diamond status. They could have diamond status from the status match program. I'm pretty sure they have studied the perks of the Voyager Club membership because you have to actively apply the membership.
A reminder would be a good thing. I had always a letter invitation in my cabin during the cruise.

You don't need the letters inviting the Spa and Special dining. Just go to the Spa area and restaurant of your choice and book the reservations.

I'm sure that MSC is also dropping the testings. It's not in their best interest to keep these restrictions if other major cruise lines are easing up. They all see a significant increased bookings and MSC won't be left behind.

The cruise is in Europe. The embarkation port is Rotterdam. The MSC rep said the cabin assigments are done in Genoa Italy , the MSC headquarter.

I just received my cabin assigments. The cruise is set at October 26th so two months before the embarkation. We're a group of 6 passengers and we booked 3 Bella unassigned inside cabins. Today a new booking confirmation was mailed to me and all cabins were upgraded to BL1 premium balconies with cabin numbers. I'm very pleased, thank you MSC !

What ship are you on ? I find the diners in the Yacht Club excellent. The lunch and diner menu change daily. If you want to enhance the diner experience you can purchase the trio diner package.

I'm current holding 14,700 point in the MSC Voyager Club. That makes my membership diamond. Any accumulation beyond this point has no extra benefits.
Do MSC has plans to extent the tiers ? I think it was better just to add the diamond tier above the black like at 20,000 points. And introduce a special MSC diamond card with the Swarovski crystals.

In Yacht Club the lunch and dinner menus are changed daily.

We're sailing in October. I hope that MSC drops most of the restrictions about COVID. MSC was the first to cruise again with the Grandiosa amids the COVID lockdown.
-
Just talked with the MSC people on the phone. They told that 2-3 weeks before the cruise date you received the final cabin numbers.

Years ago I booked two Bella interieur cabins on the MSC Meraviglia and we got a free upgrade to YIN, Yacht Club interior with all the YC amenities. That was very lucky. We also had booked interior cabins on the Seaside on the TransAtlantic cruise and was upgraded to the Balconies. But that cruise was cancelled because the COVID.
We made in total of 8 MSC cruises. A 9th MSC cruise is booked in October and we chose the unassigned Bella cabins. The booking were done directly on the MSC site. We let MSC decided the cabins. Fingers crossed.

The gifts are usually tote bags. Once we received a baseball cap and a backpack. I use this backpack a lot at home. If you don't received anything ask the cabin steward. They will put the gifts on the bed in the next couple of days.

Just came from the Rotterdam. One night they held an orange party in the Lincoln Center Stage.

Usually 1 week after the disembarkation and another 1 week for the onboard expenses. The pionts are always correct. Always take the paper bill from the ship. This paper proof is handy if you neede to argue about the Voyager points.

Next week me and my wife are going to MSC Virtuosa. We will be staying in the YC. Our boarding paper says WIFI is now included for the YC guests. That is pleasant surprise. Last time we went on the MSC Grandiosa YC and WIFI was not included.

Has anybody took pictures of the menu in the new IndoChine restaurant ? We're going on the MSC Virtuosa in September

Glad to see the Grandiosa is still cruising. Not an easy task in middle of the travel restrictions.

Deck 16 is the YC lounge and deck 18 the YC restaurant. All decks are very quiet. I would book deck 16 because it's closest to the lounge ( drinking ) 🙂
-
I found the Champagne bar is the most quiet bar in the ship. Every time we walked by there are plenty of seats available. At the top deck of the central atrium not much people passing by.

We are on the same cruise and I just wish they gave us our original cabin back !
What cabin did you have ? I'v signed for the Cruisecritics Meet&Mingle. We could meet there !

I've signed for the upgrade. The new cabin is 18003. That's a YC balcony at the highest deck. The offer was actually an YC inside cabin but MSC made a free upgrade from YIN to Balcony. Thanks MSC !!
This makes me think about the availlable rooms in YC. At the time of booking all rooms were reserved but now there are still YC balconies free. A lot of cancellations must be going on.
I realize the itinerary changed all the time and I'm familiar with it. I'm from Belgium so the difficulty is more if I can enter USA next March for holiday. When the cruise stops in Barcelona it's not difficult to go back to belgium.
Even if it was YC inside the experience in the YC enclave is immense. We spent most of the time outside the cabin so inside cabin was no problem.
I hope for the best regarding the Corona virus. Hopefully a vaccin will be available. Me and my wife love cruising and we can't quarantaine in our house forever.
