Honestly, I do agree with OP that NCL's TV offerings are inferior to other cruise lines. Adding insult to injury is the pricing, if you planned on watching movies.
I like the TV on in the room when I have finished up with daytime activities and I am preparing for the evening. Seeing the same snippet of a movie over and over is a little irritating.
However, I have never considered paying for a movie on a cruise. Especially when NCL's movie offerings are similar to streaming services offerings. If they were offering movies that are still in theatres, I might consider sitting in my cabin that long and paying an additional fee for the movie. Otherwise, I like to do things on vacation that I can't do at home.
