It depends upon what time you want to dine. If it is not peak hours, you can book a table for up to 3 nights in a row, I believe.
If it is peak time, (around 6:30 - 8, varies by ship and sailing), no reservations can be done and you just arrive and request.
Thanks for your reply

If Ash Wednesday was really important to the cruiser, he would have asked about a priest before booking the cruise.
Very true. I do the holiday booking for myself and my dad and look at itenery re where we would be on a Saturday evening or Sunday morning for him to attend mass as it's very important to him . Google has been my friend for this .For Alaska this year we're at sea on Saturday and off the ship early Sunday so I'm hoping there will be a mass of a priest is available on the Saturday he's aware that there is a possibility that there may be no priest and he accepts that as he says it's the times we live in

Three of us went to Alaska with three different cell carriers. AT&T had the best coverage with Verizon second. T-Mobile had awful coverage on our trip. This was 3 years ago.
Thanks for this info I'll look at at&t tourist cards

Agreed... ATT had the best coverage in my experience.
Telus offers the best coverage in Canada. @JudyMag: How many days are you in Canada?
I'm in Canada 7 days and 7 on the cruise I didn't want to buy wifi in the ship so was going to get a sim instead to surf and call home in Canada I'm staying with family so it's not very important

Yes. Passport is required for that excursion as you cross on land from Alaska to Fraser, BC
I always carry it with me so that's not an issue I just had visions of long wait to exit the ship at my first American port of call. At least I know I'll have pre cleared in the cruise port

Hi I'm cruise to Alaska from Vancouver in June I have all my documents up to date for entering the USA and Canada. I wondering when do I clear American immigration usually when I cruise I've landed in the USA and had all that done. Is it in Vancouver or my first port of call just for booking shore excursions.
Thanks in advance

Here is a link to the dining room beverage menu. There are also separate menus for some of the bars.

I can't wait I live 10 minutes from port a pure dream. My friends dad is thrilled he's been told he can't fly even a short European flight so he's decided he's going on what ever itenery there offering even if it's just around Ireland

I think its your insurance company you should be complaining about if they took 4-5 days to respond.
Most insurance companies have 24 hour help lines come on I know your mother fell and your dad was left but really u take out insurance to provide assistance they haven't done there job

My husband and I are not big drinkers but but the Moscato I drink is $8.50 per class and the Merlot my husband likes is $9.50. Then there are a few Martinis I like that are $9.50. For us it was worth doing the Explore4 then buying the Elite package that for 7 days we were charged $80.50 per person. The Elite Package takes it up to $15.00 per drink.
That's good info to know my dad isn't a big drinker but enjoys his wine at dinner so an upgraded package from the explorer 4 included in my cruise would be lovely for him plus an easy birthday gift

Do NOT fly into Dulles and then to Ft Laud. I have seen horrid lines for foreign travelers to get through customs. Many have missed their connecting flights.
Hopefully someone will add to this post ; someone who has arrived from your airport to Miami and has taken transportation to Ft Laud. If you look at the Port Everglades webcam, some shots are telephoto lens to the south and one can make out the Miami skyline. I think it won't be hard to find transportation between the airports.
They also show now planes landing at the Miami airport on a webcam at the same site. (of no important to you but just interesting)
If u got a good price look at a flight to Dulles via Dublin or Shannon u clear customs and immigration there and just sail through when u arrive

I know it's probably been answered here and I'm sorry I live in Europe and added tax is on all prices before we pay I have the explored 4 for my cruise and just want to check does that include the tax I know it sounds silly and if not do I need to do a calculation of my drinks to ensure I stay under the $ 7 or 8 which ever it is limit . Thanks

You didn't say which ship you are considering but if you want to see some pix google Veendam & cabin 390. It was kind of tricky getting pictures with a wide angle lens. I believe the end tables measured 16 or 18 inches. I don't recall. If you left the one toward the bathroom but used the other between the beds it might work but would be tight. I loved the full size window and having a steamer to sit on.
Thanks for advice I booked cruise tonight and can't wait

Thanks for the tip. We are looking for an open jaw fare to Europe for next May and every time I check United, they have zero fares in economy forcing people to book economy flex at about $900 more for the tickets. Not happy with this.
OP, I hope you get something and that you don't have to cancel your cruise.
Try sky scanner found it great for flights from Europe to the states
