  1. We are 2 couples and we are both booked in a reserve collection mini suite. Caribbean cruise in October on the Sapphire Princess.

One of the perks is priority specialty dining reservations. How does this work? Can we wait until we are on board to book our specialty restaurants? Or is it better to book them in advance?

The complimentary bottle of wine, can you choose the wine (red-white)?

Evening canapés upon request? To whom do you make the request, your room steward? And do you need to do this every day?

Any other things we need to know about this 'reserve collection' (beside the reserve dining)?

    Thank you!

    Lindsay

  2. This will be our 2nd Princess cruise (first was in 2017) and we have a few questions.

    1. The booking is on my husbands name. Can I link this booking to my personal Princess account?

    2. We will be travelling with my parents. We have different staterooms but the same booking number. We both have the Premier Package and we would like to use the specialty dining together. How can I make reservations in the app for the 4 of us?

    3. What casual dining options are there onboard Sapphire Princess that come with the Premier Package? Can we use this for lunch and diner?

    4. We are in a mini suite on Dolphin deck. We are doing a 10 night Carribean cruise in October. Will the uncovered balcony be a problem?

    5. Is there any way to find out when the formal nights will be on a cruise?

    6. The cruise is to celebrate my parents 50th wedding aniversary (although the exact date of their aniversary is in May). Does Princess do something to make it special for them and how can I let them know? We will buy my parents the Balcony Dinner as our present for them.

Lots of questions..hope some of you experienced Princess cruisers can help.

    Thank you!

  3. I'm searching for a hotel in Fort Lauderdale with an airport and a cruise port shuttle.

Just a basic hotel for a 1 night pre cruise. We will arrive late at the airport so we wont need a great hotel just one with a good shuttle from the airport and to the port.

@LindsayC we are booked on that same cruise and have flights from LHR via Madrid to Rio, arriving on the day before the cruise (our choice not to do the pre-cruise).  LHR to Madrid, will be on BA, where we've chosen our seats already (with BA frequent flyer status) but Madrid to Rio is Iberia and though we know we  have a booking reference, so far we've not been able to reserve particular seats.  We were told there was a glitch on their website (but don't know if that's the case or what)  We're in business class the whole way, booked through Regent but I'm unsure if that was part of the deal or was an extra.

    Looking forward seeing you onboard!

I assume that Regent booking conditions in Belgium are similar to those in the UK.

It is unlikely that you will be able to make seat reservations until the flights have been ticketed, which will be after you have made your final cruise payment to Regent. Your TA should be able to confirm this with Regent.

Regent should supply you with a flight locator which you can then use to reserve your seats on the airline's website. Note that some airlines do make a charge for advance seat reservations.

For the long flight to Rio you could ask your TA to obtain a price for Business Class from Regent; their pricing is often very reasonable.

Which airline are Regent proposing for your flight?

The airline is KLM. My travel agent indeed mentioned it has something to do with the ticketing..I didn't really understood at that time but now it makes sense they won't issue a ticket on my name untill final payment is made.

So I guess we have to wait couple of months before we can go ahead with the seat reservation.

  6. We are booked on our 2nd Regent cruise next year March going from Rio de Janeiro to Lisbon. As we are from Belgium we don't get included business flights when booking with Regent. But at the time of the booking Regent offerd us flights in economy for a really good price with an included forced overnight in Rio. We agreed on these flights and about a month ago we received the flight schedule from our travel agent. As soon as we got the schedule I wanted to book seat reservation for the long flight to Rio but I couldn't. I asked our travel agent and he said that because this is a group booking they can't make seat reservations. Is there any way I can make the seat reservation now or do I really have to wait untill check in? Maybe someone at Regent I can contact? Hope someone here can help me out!

  7. We are first time Regent cruisers and don't really understand which specialty restaurants we can book before the cruise. Is it Compass Rose, Pacific Rim and Prime 7? And then Sette Mari you can't book up front? On Regents website (FAQ) it says no reservations needed for Sette Mari and Compass Rose so we are a little confused.

  8. We are booked on a transatlantic eastbound cruise (Miami to Barcelona) beginning of april next year.

I just found out the starboard side is the best side for sun..of course we booked port side and the cruise is sold out so we can't change our cabin. Is there no sun at all on the port side during the day? Also what temperatures can we expect before entering Europe? Will we have the possibility to sunbath on the first couple of sea days?

  9. I would like to buy a 4 night specialty dining package for our upcomming cruise in October. I know sometimes there are price discounts in the cruise planner but up until now no discounts found. Is it possible to buy the package now in my cruise planne at the 'normal' price and when there is a discount cancel the already bought package and by a new package at the discounted price?

  10. We will be boarding the MSC Poesia the 14th of November. I just received our cruise tickets saying check in starts at 1pm which seems rather late. Do you think we wont be able to check in before 1pm?

Lindsay, Bill is very modest, that is a great sticky that he put together and if you see comparable suites, the reviews will be very helpful. Also if you paid your deposit within 14 days you might want to check the member referral credit thread which will help a little bit with the cruise cost. My email is in that thread and I would be pleased to help you wish.

Thank you for the info! This is very helpful.

We were in 861 for 30 days.  Yes there are vibrations and you could hear the music sometimes.  But overall, it did not bother us.  We would rather have the extra money to spend elsewhere.  Same exact room on other floors.  Just our opinion.  Have fun!

I'm actually thinking the same thing. I assume some noise and vibrations (up to a certain level) wont bother and we can save the extra 890 USD.

  13. Thank you Sharle. The price difference with catagory E is 400 euro's pp (around 445 USD). I could afford it but I have to figure out if I'm willing to pay an extra 890 USD for a better location with less vibration. I already read so many postings about this vibration and I'm assuming I can handle it. I just hope I wont make the wrong decission.

  14. Hi all,

I just booked our first sailing with Regent, a Caribbean cruise in May 2021. Our budget made that we decided to book a suite type F. I booked cabin 861, I'm a little concerned about vibrations but I hope it wont bother us that much. I'm more concerned about the noise comming from the theatre underneath us. The other option is to move to deck 9 but than we have a restaurant above us. Maybe some of you experienced Regent cruisers could help me decide to stay with cabin 861 or to move to a cabin on deck 9.

    Thank you in advance!

If you want a better way to see the various pricing combinations one of the high volume US based (in NH) on-line cruise agencies web site shows all pricing/perk combinations and I've always known it to be correct.

Is there any way you could tell me how I can find such kind of agency online? I know you can not mention names of agencies here on cruise critic but I just simply don't know how to find one.

Btw LindsayC, I just got Celebrity to honor one of the two screenshot mock booking after the third try.  So yes I received (3) perks [two in original booking] at $100 less total cost...yea!!!

Did your TA have any luck?

That is really nice! I am still waiting to hear back from my TA. I think my TA contacted Celebrity by email and is now waiting for an answer. I do believe my chances are low because the price difference was huge (about 750 USD for the two of us). My TA did add the extra perk so I'm already really happy with that but imagine a reduction in price of 750 USD! I will post here as soon as I hear from my TA.

  17. Just got an email from my TA saying she will contact Celebrity about the print screen of the overview but she thinks the chance of an adjustment to that great price is very low because it is just a print screen of an overview an not a real booking. Anyway I will keep my fingers crossed for a little while. Even if I don't get that price the new promotion still gets me an extra perk which is very nice.
