WHat I would do is first see how much I'd lose by cancelling the existing booking (but don't cancel just yet!). If you can get your deposit back or it's an acceptable amount, then complete to direct booking and cancel the TA.

You can always transfer the booking to the TA later if you want. Personally, if the TA refuses to help, I'd just leave them out of the loop!

Problem is that the new booking I have a courtesy hold on does not include the 3 perks. It only shows on the payment overview that you get before the booking. So all I have is a print screen of an overview which don't correspond with the actual booking.

  2. Yesterday I did a mock booking on Celebrity's website for the 16 night cruise in Asia departing October 2020. I already have a booking for this cruise, I did the mock booking to find out, under the new promotion, if I could get my price reduced. Just before completing the booking I got an overview of the price (which was really low, including 3 perks - felt too good to be true). I made a print screen of this overview and sent it to my TA, then I did the courtesy hold for that booking. When receiving the confirmation for that courtesy hold the price was still the same but the perks were not on the booking. My TA told me the overview of the price (which I made a print screen of) was a mistake by Celebrity and that she couldn't book the cruise with the conditions on the print screen. And I think my TA wont make any more effort to contact Celebrity about this.

What do you think? Should I contact Celebrity about this myself since I got it on a print screen or will this be lost effort? And how can I contact them?

I don't know if it makes a difference but I am belgian (mock booking was on the US website).

Thanks in advance for any help (and sorry for any English writing mistakes)!

  3. We are sailing the MSC Poesia in November of this year for 13 days (first time MSC) in an Aurea Suite. I still have some questions maybe some of you experienced MSC cruisers can help me with.

    - is the MDR open for breakfast and lunch every day? Also for lunch on embarkation day?

    - is there a waiter at the top 16 solarium deck?

    - I understand we don't get cruise cards at check in. So after you board you go straight to your cabin to collect them?

    - towels to use at the swimming pool are found in your room? Is that one towel per person or can you request more?

    - on a normal night can you wear jeans in the MDR?

    - with the Aurea suite there is a massage included. Are there any massages you would recommend?

    - does the Spa bar only has non alcoholic items?

Any other tips are more than welcome. Thank you very much in advance!

  4. Thank you for your review. We are sailing the MSC Poesia in November of this year and your review was really helpful. I would like to ask some extra questions about the MSC Poesia maybe someone can answer.

Hi, I've sailed onboard MSC Poesia before - and will be onboard the ship 1-18 April as well 😉

    * The closest bar to your cabin 15008 will be the Piraña Bar at deck 13 (just walk/take the elevator down two floors - and there it is). It's an outside bar in the pool area. There is a bar inside the Aurea Spa section as well (even that in front of deck 13, right down from your cabin), however I believe they serve "health drinks" (juices) only (I doent believe they serve alcohol...but I may be wrong).
    * When you preebook "Prosecco and Canape's" and other items to your cabin, it usually is served the first (or second) afternoon/evening,
    * Concerning the free massage, you will get a voucher (together with your tickets or at check-in). Then, when onboard, you will have to contact the Spa Center (as soon as possible to get the time you prefer, by visiting or calling them) to make your booking.
    Happy sailing! 🛥️

Thank you so much! Enjoy your cruise in April!

  6. Hello,

My boyfriend and I will be on the MSC Poesia in November. We have booked an Aurea Suite (15008) but I have a few questions I hope some of you experienced MSC cruisers can help me with.

First of all does anyone know which bar is the closest to our room? I read somewhere there is a spa bar but I can't find the bar on the deck plans. Maybe it was false information. If there is no spa bar then I guess the Pirana bar is the closest?

On the MSC website you can prebook 'Prosecco and Canape's', how does this work? When do you get them in your room?

With the Aurea experience you get a free massage, do you book this when you are on board? I assume you go to the spa to book the massage?

Any other information or tips about this ship are very welcome.

    Thank you!
    Lindsay

  7. Hello,

I'm new to MSC (cruised Celebrity and Princess before) and have some questions regarding our upcomming Mediterranean cruise on the MSC Poesia.

Hope some of you experienced MSC cruiser can help me out. Here we go.

We booked an Aurea Suite (S3) - any experiences from people who cruised in this particular suite before? Things I need to know?

I believe room service is included when in the Aurea suite, is this correct?

Is the minibar included when staying in the Aurea suite?

Can I bring my own wine/champagne onboard and if yes is it limited?

We have a drink package included - do we have a wide variety to choose from?

Seems like all my questions are regarding drinks and food 😳

Thanks in advance for any help!

  8. We (me and my boyfriend) will be boarding the Celebrity Millennium on the 10th of November (Japan - China - Taiwan - Hong Kong). 4th cruise for us, 3th with Celebrity, first time on a M-class ship. We have some questions about the Millennium and cruising in Asia, we hope some of the more experienced cruiser here on cruise critic have some answers for us.

    1. Sail away is at 8pm from Yokohama (Tokyo). Does anyone know what time the muster drill will be?

    2. We have a C3 stateroom (concierge), I read they have a shower curtain (no shower door), could anyone confirm this?

    3. Shanghai is one of our ports of call. I am planning to buy internet on board. I was wondering if I can check my email on gmail when in Shangai with the ships wifi. I heard gmail is blocked in China.

    4. We will be staying in a stateroom with connecting doors. I read the noise from the connection room can be realy bad. Some people with experience that can comment?

Thanks in advance for any help with these questions.

Sorry in advance for any writing mistakes, English is not my native language.

  9. Enjoying your review and nice photo's!

I read you are staying in a concierge cabin with a connecting door. We will be sailing the Millennium in November also in a concierge cabin with a connecting door and I am a little worried about this connecting door. I read some reviews saying you can hear your neighbours a little too well through the door. Could you share your experience?

    Enjoy your cruise!

    Lindsay

  10. Hello,

In October my boyfriend and I will be on our first Princess cruise. We did 2 celebrity cruises before and are excited to try princess and go to the Caribbean for the first time.

I have 2 questions and hoping to get some answers here.

First one is about the internet on Princess. I am considering buying a package but I just read on the Princess website that 'wireless network is available is some staterooms'. Does this really mean that some staterooms have wireless connection and some staterooms don't. And if so, how you know if your stateroom has the wireless network. Also wondering if the internet is that slow or bad as I read in some threads.

Other question is about the temperature onboard, like for example in the MDR. Is there a lot of air conditioning and is it a bit chilly? My experience with Celebrity was that is was a little chilly from time to time.

Thank you in advance for your replies!

    Lindsay (&Siegfried)

  11. Yes, I have experienced this problem and ended up just asking my travel agent to do it for me. I'm in Canada so maybe that had something to do with it. When my agent did it she didn't have a problem but she spoken with a Princess Rep. Don't worry, it isn't you. It is Princess' system.

Thank you for your reply! "Happy" to hear someone had the same issue before!

  12. By any chance do you have a credit limit, per day, on your credit card? I know on mine if I use debit with a pin I only can take out $1000 but if I use it as a credit card it can be for any amount as long as funds are in the account.

There is a limit of 2000 euro's a day but the gratuities are only around 340 euro's and I didn't buy anything else that day with my credit card (not even new shoes :D)

  13. Hi, I had this happen once, the first time I tried to pre-purchase the photo package for an upcoming cruise. My card was denied. I had to call and have them help me through the process and I used that same "denied" card.

It was a glitch, as I've used my debit card for all pre-purchases and have never in the past had an issue, nor since that one time. No idea what caused it.

Hopefully it's a temporary issue. Try again? Maybe from another computer?

Hope you get this resolved, as I understand it can be frustrating.

    Jennifer

Thank you for your reply Jennifer. Good to hear I am not the only one. I tried different computers and always had the same issue. I am waiting for a response of my TA now and I am hoping they know what is going wrong. If they don't I will make a call to princess.

  14.

Which card is "both" Debit & Credit? Debit cards Look like credit cards, but have no credit line (other than overdraft protection perhaps) and will always fund from checking/savings accounts....................

    Just saying..............

And to the OP...............Why pre-pay so far in advance or at all? Just do it on the ship. I don't know of any benefit to pre-paying those, although the cruise line would love to hold your money for a while................:-)

    Steve

I like to pay in advance, it makes me more relax to know everything is taken care of and I don't need to worry about it anymore
