Just 8 days to go until we board the Star in Venice on our first cruise with Norwegian - we've cruised on the P&O Azura & the MSC Fantasia - are we likely to see big differences?
We're having 3 days in Lake Garda before our cruise first and a night in Venice so the excitement is building

Did you have to tender at many ports & if so how long did it take?

Is the pool reasonably warm?? - we go on the Star in 3 weeks & really looking forward to it - did you eat in either of the MDR's? If so what was the food like?
-
Great report - really looking forward to the next installment as we sail on this cruise in just four weeks time - can't wait!!
-
Does anyone have any pictures of sample menu's?
-
Thanks - it's our first cruise with NCL after doing MSC Fantasia & Ventura & Azura with P&O soit will be a new experience. MSC was more Italian/European while P&O are very British but I understand that NCL has a big American influence. I can't wait & I'm really excited about the ports that we are visiting, just wish we got a little longer in each of them.

Can anyone tell me, is it just the buffet that is open for Lunch on boarding the Star? If anybody has recently disembarked, are there any must see shows? We will be boarding from Venice on the 13th August
-
anybody been on the Star recently? Just wondered if it was over all the engine problems? It will be our first cruise with NCL in August so any advise or thoughts on the Star would be welcome

We did the transatlantic on Azura coming back the other way, and my biggest regret was that we didnt book the overnight in Barbados, as we didnt really get to see much of the place. We absolutely loved every minute on the Azura and the Caribbean. If I can give you one tip it would be to book with Cosol Tours in St Lucia it was the best day of our lives.

How strict are P&O when it comes to boarding times at Southampton? We have a long drive down so depending on traffic could arrive quite early, and with having my 94 year old mother in a wheelchair I dont fancy sitting around too long. Once on-board is ity just the buffet thats open or can you get afternoon tea? Its only a two day taster on board Ventura to see how my mum copes with getting around etc, so I want to make it as enjoyable as possible for her

Cheers Brian I thought that was probably what the difference was - we had a superior deluxe on the Azura last year & it was fantastic - I just want to give my mum a great experience

Hi, we have just been allocated a DB grade Superior deluxe cabin (D610) on our short cruise on the Ventura in February, which I believe is an upgrade from the DE cabin that we booked. Can anyone tell me the difference between the cabins, an has anyone ever stayed in this cabin. We are taking my mum who is 94 on her first "trial" cruise, so I want everything to be perfect for her.

Does anyone know if one of the two nights on the Ventura mini cruise to Brugge is a black tie night?
-
I dont think its doing a lot for the cruise industry at all as they are trying to attract a new generation of cruisers but the programme makes it look like only the elderly rich can go on a cruise ship - thats not how it has been on the ships I've been on so maybe for series 3 they should look at a different cruise line with real people on board.
-
Does anyone know if the indoor pool on Ventura is heated or will it be freezing in February?
-
Is one of the two nights usually a formal night?

How does Ventura compare to Azura? We did the trans-Atlantic on Azura last year & loved it - I believe Ventura has an indoor pool which would be handy in February!!
-
As my wife is a teacher we are tied to school holidays and this is the only short cruise available during the February half term I guess it's better than nothing & will give us chance to experience Ventura
-
I am considering the short break on the Ventura in February to Bruges and was wondering if anyone has done this cruise & can tell me if it is worth the money? Can you have a restaurant breakfast or lunch or is it just buffet with only evening meals in the restaurant - also what time can you board & what time do you have to disembark?
-
We had a fantastic time - loved every minute

Arriving on the Friday was an option but beyond the current financial means!!

Hi everyone, we are going on our first Caribbean cruise on the 19th March onboard the P&O Azura, but I am struggling to find out what time the ship actually sails, and whether we will have time for a quick look around before Sail Away. We are flying in from Birmingham & we are due to land at 3pm. I have seen that there is a Sunset & Champagne excursion which does not set off until 4-15pm, which I would have liked to have done, but I think it will be too tight for our arrival? Surely though, this means that sail away cannot be until very late evening, so I wondered if there will be time to have a quick look around? Any advise would be gratefully accepted.

My final payment is due in 2 days & I haven't had one!!
