Any way to identify a chartered cruise?
If it is not available to be booked on the HAL website. -
Nice to pop in and see a sail-away! Have a good Saturday night and an extra hour of sleep!

Maor rust spots on the Lido deck overhang! 😮

This isthe last dam ship we have been on: Alaska August 2021. It has been too long.
The last couple of cruises have been on Celebrity (Millenium, Beyond and Summit).

The Nieuw Amsterdam had a port stop in New Orleans? That's pretty awesome.
The fun places charter cruises can take you!
(Howdy, it has been a while since I have peeked in here)

That’s too bad; I had it too and mine tender and cooked medium rare as ordered.- 1

The jewel of the Seas seem to be heading back into New York tonight.
I was surprised to see the Jewel of the Seas at the Manhattan piers this morning as I was going to work and then just happened to drive home past the Manhattan piers as she was leaving.

Hi Peter! I'll be on this cruise with my partner, Chris. Our friends, Terry and Cameron, will also be joining us as well. It will be my 4th time on the Summit and Chris' second time. This will be my first cruise over 7 nights in over 20 years and I'm looking forward to all of the sea days!!!

They are changing things daily. No it's not normal but probably a new rule they made up. Many changes are happening at Celebrity and not for the better
Port taxes is a pass-through fee - Celebrity does not decide what it should be.

Cruise Hive has article regarding Celebrity cookie charge! It is for real.
That’s some sad reporting.

We are booked on another repositioning cruise!
We sailed on the Summit October 2018 from New York to San Juan and last year we sailed on the Beyond from New York to Ft. Lauderdale on her for first US cruise.
These October cruises are at a good time for me workwise, relaxing and a lot of fun.

In the UK we pay for the meal on a Card and tip in cash. When we did this in the US cashiers queried it on so many occassions that we now add the tip to the Card.
As a New Yorker, likely the US Capital of Tipping, I have NEVER had anyone one question or remark about tipping in cash and paying the bill by card. NEVER,.

I guess I"m not sure why cruise lines don't just completely eliminate gratuities and raise the fare prices accordingly.
Because people like the artificially low cruise fares!

I just picture passengers going to Aqua spa café for breakfast and handing the server a dollar, then going to lunch at the Mast Grill and giving the guy who flips the burger another dollar, and that night tucking a few bucks under their plate in the MDR. The next day a woman in Oceanview makes them a waffle, so she gets a tip, too and so on throughout the cruise………
What a nightmare😵💫😳😵💫😳😵💫
Maybe some do, but that is not how I want to spend my time on the ship! 😄

Just reading a recent Summit review and they stated "bars on the Summit are closed on sea days."
I would think that would be cause for mutiny, jk.
But seriously that can't be true, can it? Anyone experience this recently?Where did d you read it? All experienced cruisers would know it is utter BS. Why even report it?

Charter cruises
in Holland America Line
Posted
By the time an itinerary is removed from inventory, the charter is pretty much confirmed and the contract signed. Highly unlikely that it will not happen.
