  1. I brought my laptop on the last one but that’s because I love photography and I used it to edit my photos on the sea days.

Also I left it out in my room the whole time. No issues!

I also like to bring my laptop for photography, that way I can see if I actually took any good photos.

    :')

  2. There was a youtube kcking around of a woman on a Celebrity ship - (she was actually on a Music theme cruise charter!) - and she was whining and moaning about the "loud noise" coming from the NCL party on the pier below her - was too funny haha! "It was intruding on her balcony space" :')

Careful there is a thread on here about NCL cruisers complaining about balcony music :halo::')

  3. Hi All,

Looking forward to my cruise this June on the jewel, for those of you who have done this I was just wondering if you had any days nice enough for the pool? We leave June 10th to Alaska, this will be my first time going to Alaska I hear its beautiful.

Yes it is beautiful, just an FYI it has been a colder than normal spring here in the Pacific North West this year we have only hit 60 deg three times so far this year(Seattle area). That said you may have blue sunny days and you may have rain showers. The weather is hard to predict here.

  4. Just an FYI: know your benefits before boarding- The coupons are SUPPOSED to be in your cabin upon arrival, but I was in the Cruise Next office and overheard the issue that someone dropped the ball and forgot to do this on our cruise. They arrived two days late.

Also, with the laundry: check your statement to be sure that you weren't charged. We were, even though we included the coupon. I had to go to guest services to get the charge removed.

I'm pretty sure it is one laundry bag per stateroom.

No as stated one bag per platinum guest.

  5. That does not apply to US ports, in US everyone must be off the ship for the authorities to clear it. One can either just leave like they would do on a regular port of call or wait until the B2B group is gathered together, signed out of the ship and then back in.

This is what we have had happen.

  6. Spirits, cocktails, wines by the glass and bottled or draft beer up to and including $15 USD and unlimited fountain soda and juices at all bars, lounges, restaurants and our private island, Great Stirrup Cay. A 20% discount will be applied to all bottles of wine purchased on board.

  7.

How about a grocery store when they have a sale on an item you just purchased the day before?

Actually yes I can take the receipt back to Costco and get my Money back within I believe a 90 day span. Could be less if it is much over two weeks I forget about it. :)

  8. Hi Again - OP here. Calm down everyone. Did I come across as a hater to tatoos. I am not, just noticing that most people had them. I take it back! Whew now that is cleared up. I dress casual for work, so I am looking for opportunities to dress up. I look in my closet and think why do I have dresses and heels. I totally get if you dress up for work and want to be casual.

I am really not sure why people are relieved I am not on their cruise....I was just stating the vibe and feel. I hung out at the pool for hours and had a great time. I just wanted to post about what people can expect. I mentioned I had a good time....So I am pretty sure the people judging me are harsher than I am.

Also I think have the cruise was from Canada. I am chatty and one met two people from Southern California. If not from Canada from other states.

(I just tried posting but it didn't update so this might be duplicate later. )

If you want to dress up dress up. That's one of the great things about NCL. My DW brings dresses and has me wear collared shirts and nice pants when we eat dinner/supper whatever you want to call it. Day time tee shirts or tank tops and shorts for me sorry no tats :lol

  9. No.

What is included in the Ultimate Beverage Package?

Spirits, cocktails, wines by the glass and bottled or draft beer up to and including $15 USD and unlimited fountain soda and juices at all bars, lounges, restaurants and our private island, Great Stirrup Cay. A 20% discount will be applied to all bottles of wine purchased on board.

  10. You can book the Teppanayaki resturant once you get on the ship. They do no let you prebook this on the Star because the whole room (very small) where these 2 tables are only hold a total of 16-18 guests at a time.

This is the truth about Teppanayaki on the star. It is the smallest one I have seen.

  11. I have no doubt that Mr. Stuart has employees that report back to him. What they report back is that money garnered from the DSC is either up this % or down this %, but I seriously doubt if he is given a run down on the reasons that folks remove or reduce it, as that is information for the Hotel Directors of the ships to handle. Now, once the information is passed up the line, the only thing Mr. Stuart does if the % is down is to say raise it by this amount.

IF NCL is anything like Boeing is all the Hotel Directors do is blow fairy dust and unicorns up Mr. Stuarts back side. Jedi to storm trooper "this is not the problem you want to see"

  12. Not to hijack the thread but my wife is interested in purchasing smoked salmon, not the canned jerky type (although I plan on buying some of those tins) but the frozen ones on our September cruise and having it shipped home. The only issue is that we disembark on 9/9 and we are spending a few days after in Seattle. Would there be any issues? Or should we plan on a neighbor accepting the package?

  13. It's TECHNICALLY not against the rules to have loud, screaming sex on your balcony either, right?

Well it is is the balcony that I PAID FOR, and I should get to use it how I WANT, right? I mean we'll keep the sex to a level that we feel to be reasonable, so why isn't that enough for you?

If it bothers you so much, you can just wear earplugs.

I am sure that would be video recorded and posted for the world to see so go for it :D

  14. Here's your solution. If you want to listen to music, go to the friggin' pool. How often do you get the chance to sit on a balcony in the middle of the ocean, away from the hustle and bustle of the world, and take in the sound of wind and waves? You can have a great time with the ocean as your soundtrack.

And who decides what the "reasonable" volume is? You? You realize those little barriers aren't soundproof, right? We're all on the same freaking ledge. So if you decide to listen to music, you're deciding that your neighbors have to listen to it also, regardless of how "reasonable" the volume is.

You are not a very Happy Happy person are you?

  15. We are going on the Star at the end of May and wish to book 3 meals in speciality restaurants. We have been in La Cucina and Moderna recently on Getaway and really enjoyed both. Can anyone recommend them on Star - and which other is definitely worth booking? Not sure between Le Bistro and Cagney's.

I liked both Cagney's and Moderna on the Star. The staff was the best in Moderna all the way from the waiters to as we called them "the meat pushers" up to the top. they were all pleasant, helpful, and friendly. A bit of an FYI both restaurants share the same kitchen. One night we were not having the greatest service from our waiter and Richard took over from him (kind of stole us from him) and was the best.. On a side note Richard also works O'Shehans for lunch.
