  1. Hello,

I have searched and searched the online vacation summary and I can't find it anywhere. Can someone please direct me to the spot. We sail on feb 4,2017 and I really want to choose my time.

Just encase you are one of the suite folks they don't have a set time, just show up whenever.

  2. I have to say I am a Balacoholic, ;) I have stayed in AFT facing, FWD facing, and the side facing and my favorite is hmmmmmm, truly I don't think I have a favorite. All have pluses and minuses.

I like the aft for the wake sounds and the fwd for the views coming into ports.

  3. You need the first page of the edocs "Guest Ticket Contract To Be Presented For Passage". The title of the first page says it all. While you may get away with showing the PDF on your phone at some ports, it is always safer to have the hardcopy ticket available for port security and the check in agent.

Actually you don't need to print out anything, Our last cruise out of NYC we got to the port and didn't have anything they looked us up on their print out and we were on the ship in no time.

Granted we were stressed but really we just breezed thru everything.

(BTW ) We usually have everything printed out. Paper making trees grow fast and loggers need jobs to. :)

  4. They will have a Latitudes party at some point. You should have an invitation in your cabin upon arrival. At this party, you get free drinks and snacks, and there will be drawings for various things, such as free internet package, coupon for meal and bottle of wine at LeBistro, bottles of sparkling wine, photo of ship, etc. Be sure to bring your invitation when you go, as you turn it in and that is what they pull for the drawings.

If you signed up for the Latitudes program.

  5. We are on the Dawn on Dec.4. We have purchased a dining package. What would be a good time to book dining to see the shows on the Dawn? We normally like a late seating, but we saw some dailies with shows at 9:00. Any advice for us, please.

Also, what are your favorite specialty restaurants? What do you think of Teppanyaki?

    Thank you so much.

The Dawn is a one time a day show ship.

I like Teppanyaki (think Benihana), I also like Morderno I call it meat on a stick :LOL

  6. 90 days out and I made all of my dinner reservations [emoji1]

How soon before sailing will the major shows be available to reserve?

Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app

It all depends on what ship you are on some don't take reservations. From your signature it looks like you are on the Dawn it is a smaller ship that doesn't do res for shows .

  7.

I supposed that comment "Why does it matter?" could be said about ANY question on here. Maybe

There are so many reasons like did they remove a certain favorite item

So you are not going to cruise if they take away your XXXX. Then so be it.

or not wanting to miss out on a special item that might be served now.

If it is "special" you still might miss it.

Again just go and get on the ship and relax you are on VACATION.

    No caffeine reduction required here.

  8. You will LOVE your PoA suite. We upgraded into one for our first NCL trip 2 years ago and now can't imagine sailing in anything less.

There are two kinds of perks - those that come with every suite, by virtue of being in a suite, and those that are promotional that you get with booking.

Free Internet is a common promotional perk for PoA. Since that ship cannot offer UBP, it often uses alternative perks like Free Internet or Free Pre-Cruise Hotel instead.

Which promotional perk(s) you have would depend on when you booked. If you booked in a non-suite and then upgraded, you only get the promotional perks you received at booking. Typically, booking in a suite gets you all available promotional perks where as a non-suite gets to pick or two.

Breakfast/Lunch for suite guests is one of the standard Suite Perks, along with use of the Concierge and Butler, snacks delivered to your room, priority tender tickets, a bottle of sparkling wine and a large bottle of water.

The important thing to remember about sailing on the PoA is that the trip is about the islands, *not* about the ship. It doesn't have the best entertainment or nightlife and obviously no casino. What it does have a great staff and Hawaii.

    Enjoy!

See now that is a Perk in my eyes no casino no casino smoke:D

We are going on the POA for our third time.

  9. NCL has only tried fireworks on the Breakaway and Getaway. Both discontinued a couple of years ago. And for passengers, brining explosives on a ship is a big no no.

I have not seen NCL (registered in the Bahamas) do anything for the US Independence Day other than a few balloons and streamers.

On another cruise line, we actually anchored off Portland ME one night to watch the fireworks and then sailed into NY harbor a second night to watch fireworks before getting back into international waters so they could open the shops and the casino.

I fixed it for you, from my best recollections no cruise ship goes to Minnesota and I don't think there is a Portland in MN. ;) But I could be wrong.

  10. That looks like a Norovirus breeding stall. I would never touch a drinking fountain on a cruise ship! Not sanitary at all. Not sanitary anywhere but especially not on a cruise ship.

They have them at air ports and they are installed in the factory where I work. They work just fine for filling up water bottles.
