When they offer FULL FARE as OBC- does that include the port and taxes?
No...that gets transferred to new cruise...we've had a few move overs and they don't refund that portion...however, if there is a big difference in port fees from previous cruise to new cruise (in your favor) you can ask for the difference to be returned.

But Magic To Do is interesting...not a bad show...we've just been on lots west coast cruises (we live here and it's cheaper not to fly) so I'm ready for a change...soon I hope!
-
Wow...still Magic To Do...that's all we've seen for years it seems...lol

Thanks azbirdmom for the great explanation. I’ve never had one so wasn’t exactly sure how it worked.
The rep also emails you exactly what the offer entails so no confusion...:p

My DW and I are traveling with another couple on the Crown on Feb. 18. Our accounts are linked. They got a move over offer today and we did not. Does anyone have any recommendations for negotiating it for both reservations? Thanks!
If your accounts are linked then I don't understand how they'd not offer to all...good luck!

75% of invited parties for us have been fun and worth going to just to meet all the sweet people like those on cruise critic!
-
I suggest to go to all party's invited if possible, if not fun then just leave...no harm...

It's a long story and not really very interesting. I was Thrak when I wasted 3.5 years of my life playing Dark Age of Camelot online (anywhere from 1 - 16 hours per day). I kept the name Thrak when I started Geocaching (I thought I'd change it later but it was short and easy to sign in a small log book so I stuck with it) and then when I needed a name for Cruise Critic I just kept with the same name. It has absolutely nothing to do with King Crimson (which is what people seem to assume) and actually comes out of of something my oldest son misheard in the animated TV show The Tick. I won't go into the full story as, like I said, it really isn't very interesting. :p
Awe, I thought it might be game related...my sons, age 29 and 37 played all those games...but I bought the game machines! LOL My oldest still plays way too much but since he works in the field he gets paid to do it now! Thanks Thrak!

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this suggestion however I love the reviews of packing cubes done by a cruising Youtube channel called "Cruisetipstv" I highly suggest watching those reviews before purchasing packing cubes (which are beyond wonderful for cruising!!!).

Well, I would say the "quality" of the Princess experience has declined quite a bit in the last 3 years...especially in the dining room. However, I still believe great deals can be found...and I have so much fun doing so!!!

I've cruised to Cabo 2 times alone (my husband had emergency work issue once and 2nd time he was sick)...best place to be if alone!!! I even went to Cabo Wabo cantina alone! I walked to it alone from the pier...no problem...Had a great time, no worries. I was 60 years old at the time...just do it! lol

ALICE...can't spell my own name, lol

I usually order a "regular" drink such as a gin and tonic. You aren't limited to the weird pre-mixed drinks they offer. Just ask for something else.
My experience too...
Thrak...you seem to reply to same threads as I read so just wondering (and for months now)...what does "Thrak" mean???:cool::cool::cool::cool: Aice

We were scheduled to leave our home at 7am on Sat. the 23rd of December for a 7 night Christmas Mexican cruise on Ruby (we drive 3 and half hours from our home in CA to the port) when I received a phone call at 2:30pm on Friday Dec. 22nd from a Princess rep...offering a move over to any 7 night cruise with upgraded cabin from our balcony to a minisuite plus our entire paid cruise fare to be given back as refundable onboard credit. So a free cruise in a minisuite with all our money back...we took it! I figure it is at least a $8000 plus free deal. Yep it does happen...

I called the "inventory" department and the rep told me exactly how many kids were on our two holiday cruises. No problem, just ask.
-
Well, there is no limit on holiday cruises...over 700 kids were on our Thanksgiving cruise and for us it was a nightmare...March will likely have very few children.
-
Lesson to be learned...best to make final payment days before the actual due date. Then you have time to check your cruise personalizer to see that it has been finalized. And if not showing paid in full by the next day (mine always show within the hour) call your TA or cruiseline for explanation. Sorry you have experienced this issue!
-
Nothing special for us as Platinum...it's just good ole fashion detective work checking the cruise sites daily for best deals...and it's $50 off per person after first cruise (Thus far for us).
-
I was on the Emerald for this past Thanksgiving and there was no wine card available.
-
Have you joined your Roll Call thread?
I was wondering same! Great roll call for California Coastal in March!

Which ship? And do you prefer full sun or shaded. The shade is not total shade, it's a mesh awning but quite effective. Some ships do have a few loungers in full shade though.
Ruby, Full sun with ability to escape it if necessary...
-
Wow too funny... I read it as an upgrade for $399 not for entire cruise!

Yes $250 for cruises of 2 weeks and over, $100 for cruises under. We Aussie serving and ex servicemen and women also receive it from Princess, as do the New Zealanders, Brits and Canadians, as well as of course Americans. Once you send your proof of service in to Princess, it goes on your profile. I got 3 lots for this years cruises, Sapphire x 2 ad Royal x 1, buys a few bottles of vino in the MDR, although mine just went on shorex purchases.:halo: The left hand of Princess gave it to me and then the right hand took it away. lol. But still very appreciative.
Yes, one can earn $50 for cruises 3-5 days, $100 for cruises 6-13 days, $250 for cruises over 2 weeks..but as stated you need to send in your final discharge paperwork to prove you qualify so if it's been 40 years and you don't have that paperwork (or can't find it) then you need to get another copy from a Veterans Office which may take months (Like it did for us, lol). But once you get it approved from Princess you'll always get the onboard credit for all future cruises.

So...where are the best loungers located? Am going to reserve half days for our March cruise but have no idea which lounger area to chose...

I would suggest reviewing deck plans for any ship you plan on sailing...not all types of cabins are offered on all decks. I love lido deck for same reason as you, however I know there are no minisuites on lido deck for the Caribbean, Ruby, Emerald, Crown etc. because I study deck plans before choosing our cabin...
