Although perhaps not a 'suite' it's still offers a bit more space. No perks as such though from what I have experienced.

First time was on the Spirit, and should be getting on the water on the Diamond soon.

Balcony is a great idea, would recommend! Don't want sleepless nights!

Would at least suggest taking a credit card with you. Assume you have purchased insurance. Accidents do happen - people get sick - if you need to use any medical facilities it is usually billed to your account, or on shore you would need a credit card. Even with insurance you often have to pay and then file a claim for reimbursement.

 

Even if you prefer not to use a credit card it is hard to travel without one. Hotels, car rental, etc. take the information even if you don't use.

Totally agree with you. I've always taken a credit card with myself on cruises. Had to use it twice due to emergencies. Wouldn't travel without one.

Are there any discounts when booking a cruise onboard vs online?

NCL would be great for a first cruise, cannot recommend them highly enough! Enjoy your time :)
