Dining outside on the terrace of Windows Cafe is for us one of the highlights of an Azamara cruise. Even on the evenings we choose to eat in the MDR we usually have a drink at the terrace bar first. So please don't change this area.
Agree 100%!

I was on the Eclipse in February (where the breakfast was held in the Tuscan Grill, with a fabulous view), and the service was excellent. I very much enjoyed the peace and quiet of the breakfast, and the delicious fruit plate that included papaya and mango (that I never saw upstairs in the buffet). You could request just one or two croissants and they would be happy to do that, rather than bring a whole plate. The capaccinos were delicious, as well as the occasional mimosa!

I've reached elite plus status for our next cruise, but not DH. Can he have complimentary cappuccinos at the cafe? I know there's always the elite breakfast if not.

Nothing on the credit card yet. They're not so quick to refund the charge! I'll try to remember to respond when refund does come.
Refund in with just a very small difference, most likely due to fluctuating exchange rate.
-
Just curious if you checked your credit card since you canceled? I had the same situation happen but was afraid to cancel because I didn't want to be hit with a double exchange fee thus losing $ on the refund.

Not so. Look at the Sept 2 2016 Solstice Alaska cruise. Book in US and it is $1298 USD and in CND it is $1469 for a balcony. That is a rate of 1.13%
That is interesting! I was looking at the exciting deals rates, and their exchange rate is higher than 13%. Maybe I had better investigate further into the future!

Canadian pricing on cruises booked now have the high exchange rate. I know that we will cut back! European land trips look pretty good. It seems the USD has soared compared to many other currencies, while our CDN dollar has held up compared to the euro and pound. Who would have thought that our dollar would have dropped so far and so quickly against the US.
-
It's for 25 usd. Is your cruise booked in CDN? I hope you get this rate....I didn't!

Here's my tale: from Ontario, Canada, booked through online American TA in USD, for a Feb. cruise. Yesterday, I purchased OBC from the gift website, in CDN dollars, got a receipt in CDN, at the good exchange rate. I checked my credit card this morning and it had been charged at the higher current rate. I called Celebrity gift site, and she said her system could only process my request in USD. I said it was false advertising, she noted it on my file, and I cancelled it all.:(

A few months ago I enquired about the number of points given for an inside to balcony promo. I am pleased to report that we were given the balcony rate, ie. three per night.

Bonnie....thank you for checking into this.
Ellbon......thank you for your suggestion wrt Stern.....we aren't shoppers though.

I have had no information regarding a Rio shuttle for our afternoon, Dec 12, prior to disembarkation the following day. I have tried here on CC, and a direct email to Azamara CLub Cruises. Since a shuttle is an advertised inclusion, shall I assume that one will be available? We just want to explore the central part of the city before staying for two extra days to see other highlights. Thanks in advance.

Hamptonflyer.....have you checked online with the most recent express pass, which may have been updated? This is how we found out about our stateroom assignment on a recent April cruise. And yes, we got a very nice upgrade from inside guarantee to a balcony!

I can't recall if I ever registered, but no emails. All I know about changes at Az are from reading about them here. Even things like the change in discount for shore excursions.....surely they should have informed those with bookings about that. As for the new loyalty program, we don't have any bookings after November's TA, but Celebrity is sure looking better for future cruises, at a significantly lower price. Too bad, as we quite like Az. But it's a poor way of treating us.

Will one be available in Rio for our afternoon before disembarkation? Where would the dropoff be? Also wondering about Natal. Thanks.
-
Wondering if one is provided and where it goes to? Downtown for cathedrals?
-
Good news! Thanks.

For a November cruise I purchased a verandah stateroom for the inside price during a promotion. I wonder if i will get 2 or 3 points per day. Does any one have recent experience? Hopefully three as that would put me close to Elite Plus with Celebrity. And some day it may matter with Azamara;)

Here's the reply I got when I asked about times.....
Thanks for contacting us at Island Tour Centre about our Daniels Head Beach Train!
On September 3rd they have three times available:*
10:00-1:00
11:30-3:30
1:30-5:30
The cost is $15 per adult and $5 per child.
For reservations you can book online at http://www.islandtourcentre.com or you can call us at 14412361300.*
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us further.
They are flexible about return times. I didn't specifically ask about reservations, but I'm going to assume they are not needed.

We are thinking of this for our first day, Wed.Sept.3. Wondering about departure time from Dockyards, and return ticket price. Thanks.

We plan on trying it in August. Favourite suggestions?

We will be leaving on the Quest from Nice on the 26th, and will be staying at an apartment in the Port we located on Airbnb. How difficult is it to find the location of the ship? I understand from from Azamara that the Quest will be at the small ship basis, wherever that may be. Any info on location an boarding procedures would be much appreciated.
Clark and Valerie Fischer
That's just what we did last month. Just walk towards the harbour, and go south on the street next to the eastern side of it...boats will be on your right. As you get to the end of that street you will see the tents to your left, and the ship! We were there around 11:40, and boarded right away as they took our luggage and directed us to the cabaret lounge for checkin. Easy! Have a great trip.

Rather than take meds that can cause drowsiness, I use sea bands. They work Ike a charm for me at all times when I might get motion sickness.....ships, cars, buses. They are available at pharmacies. I never sail without them!

We are sailing from Nice on April 22 on the Quest, also with a late departure. Someone from our roll call has stated that last year they were able to board before noon. I'm hoping that this will be true this year as well as check out times from hotels are before 12. I realize that staterooms won't be ready until later. Does anyone else have experience with this situation? Thanks.
Eclipse early traditional MDR line... time to dissipate
in Celebrity Cruises

I've been reading of long lines to enter MDR now that the number of entrances have been reduced. We don't want to hold up our table, but might try to time it right to avoid waiting (and not rush from elite cocktail hour!) I realize that the first night is slower. Thanks for information on how long it's been taking for the line to dwindle.
