  1. My husband and I did the test using my iPad.  It was a bit awkward tilting it so the nurse could see the testing devices but we managed. The nurse at WM Life Centres had great customer service skills (used to dealing with seniors) and walked us through the whole procedure.  We were emailed the results within minutes.  The main thing is that NCL accepted the results so I am a very satisfied customer!

I downloaded the Meet Google app on my iPad first.

  2. While I was in the photoshop on the Bliss I was excited to see they sell Alaska scrapbook albums.  The one I bought has 5 pocket pages plus 10 photo sleeves for 12X12 layouts.  It is $24.95 less any loyalty discounts.  It has a beautiful cover.  The best part is that there is also a scrapbooking kit that has (12) 12X12 papers, journaling cards, sticker sheets, embellishments, cardstock, and acrylic 'gems'.  It is also $24.95.

  3. NCL is still offering water and addresses the cord issue.  This was in our email today from the Access Desk:

    Dear Mr.

Thank you, your completed special needs form has been received. The information provided has been noted. Please review the below information.

    C-pap Machine / Distilled Water:
Be advised that we can provide distilled water on board. There is no additional charge for the water.

The ship has been advised to provide you with distilled water for the machine for the duration of the cruise. Please contact the Access Officer on board if there are any problems or if you require additional water. The Access Officer can be reached through the Front Desk.

We also recommend that guests bring an extension cord at least 6ft. long, as the outlets are not close to the bed. The extension cord may be confiscated from luggage to be examined for safety and if deemed safe, returned to the guest. The ship only has a very small supply (available first-come, first-serve) and can be requested at the Guest Services Desk.

  4. I used Switch Health (in person at the Toronto airport) and got the results emailed to me. Those results were accepted by the Greek government and by NCL.  When I was randomly selected by the Canadian government to be tested on my return, the test were performed by Switch Health.  I'm sure you will fine using their proctored tests for Celebrity.

  5. Last month I was in Athens and did a Hop on Hop off tour from the pier.  If you have a limited amount of time the open air bus tour gives a nice overview of Athens and is very scenic. There are lots of stops that you can get off and explore including the park below the Acropolis.  We had already been to the Acropolis on our own and stood in line for an hour to get tickets.  It is a long walk up and needs a lot of time to explore.  If you don't have time to do that you can get some nice pictures from below just to say you saw it!

  6. I think it is clever of you to ask on CC for advice!

I enjoy both river cruises and ocean cruises. There are some big differences and yes, costis a factor.

Here is what I like about river cruises. When you dock, you are right in a town. You walk off the ship. There is only a coupleof hundred people instead of thousands disembarking. It is easier to get to know people on a rivercruise since there are less of you. Youcruise and tour together.

Once you pay for a river cruise, you won’t have surprise expenses. Your tours are included and they areexcellent. The tours tend to be in themorning. That gives you a chance to feelcomfortable about your surroundings and then you have time to explore on yourown in the afternoon.

Being on a river you get to see a lot of scenery as youcruise. That doesn’t happen much on theocean/sea.

We never bothered with a drink package on a river cruise becausebeer and wine were included at lunch and dinner. There aren’t as many dining options but thefood is good.

I have been on 4 river cruises with Viking. There is no need for men to pack a tie orladies to bring cocktail dresses. In theevening, most men wear long pants and the ladies wear nice tops. There are a couple of dressier evenings but nothingreal fancy. I believe on other rivercruises the dress standard is higher.

For me, a big difference is the evening entertainment. On a river cruise, they bring on some localtalent or just have a piano player. Ofcourse, you have experienced how much more there is to do on a big cruise shipat night.

Another thing worth considering is the age factor. River cruises appeal to an older demographic. If I was in my 40’s like you, I might notfind it as much fun travelling with us older folks!

I have been on some good Mediterranean and some good rivercruises. I think you just need to dowhat appeals to you most. Both aregreat, just different.

  7. I highly recommend the Best Western Hotel Olimpia. Look it up on T-A and see the reviews. Lots of people use it for pre-cruise. It is in an amazing location for getting to the ship, meaning you can walk! The price is good and the breakfast buffet was delicious. There is a water taxi stop right at the hotel. I could go on and on.
