  1. I have no aversion to walking down those hallways. I believe in courtesy to my fellow passengers and respect their right to quiet in their cabins by avoiding unnecessary noise.

Those things on both sides the hallways leading to the front of the ship on deck 9 are cabins. So you are incorrect about the hallway and me.

Deck 9 is the pool and the buffet. One can walk the length of the buffet and pool area moving from the aft to mid elevator without walking past a cabin. Then again, the hallways, all of them, are public spaces and my right as a passenger allows me access to public spaces. If you'd rather walk through smoke, go for it but how about apologizing for trying to tell others there is no way to get from the front to the back of the ship without passing a smoking casino. You have stated as much that your statement is false.

So let me ask you......just how much noise DO you make when walking down a carpeted hallway because if you're not making noise as most people would be not doing, how does that make you not using it a courtesy??? Completely baffled by this logic.

OP, simply put, if smoke doesn't bother you you can go forward to aft via the casino (and other decks). If smoke bothers you, use almost any other deck to go forward and aft and you'll have no problem with smoke. She's a great ship (including the casino). Hope you enjoy her.

  2. I've been trying to price a Havana cabin for a 2017 sailing . I have tried numerous differant dates could they all really be sold out.

You didn't specify what type of cabin (though many people have assumed a cabana (balcony)) but there are several Havana Inside cabins available on my 25 Mar 17 sailing.

  3. True, but I believe that cabin hallways should not be used as public thruways.

Deck 9 is not a cabin hallway. But if someone is so afraid of walking past the casino I have to assume they won't share your aversion to walking down a cabin hallway that their cabin is not on.

Either way, your statement that one is "forced" to walk through the casino is incorrect.

  4. Looing at booking the Glory for next September. This will be my third cruise and DH's first! I've been on the Valor and the Victory, both pre 2.0 upgrades. I loved both of those ships . . . will I love the Glory? How does she compare?

Tell me all about it! Please . . .

Love the Glory. Then again, the Conquest class is my favorite class of ship. Adult pool at the aft is great.

  5. There are plenty of jobs that are 24/7.

Off the top of my head, I would say a doctor's job is always 24/7; even when they might not be on call.

I work in academic R&D and we are familiar with plenty of academic and industry jobs which are 24/7.

The difference is, a military job commands more respect due to the sacrifices and the level of work & duty demanded from them.

Hopefully, OP should not have any problems cancelling his wife from the booking.

One big difference. You can quit/leave a regular job (24/7 or not) but you cannot do the same with the military.

  6. I have booked a room on the Carnival Sunshine and have been placed in cabin 1551. It is directly at the elevator and was curious as to whether this would be a noisy area. I have never stayed near the elevators before and don't know if they can be heard inside the cabin.

I almost always stay near the elevators and no appreciable extra noise because of them.

  7. Depending in the age of your kids, they may not get the jokes. While they're not "R" rated, there's a definite maturity issue to understand them. I don't think my 11 year old would get half of them

Depends on the comedian. While on the Sunshine, we had a female comic who brought kids up on the stage and did about a third of her routine as strictly jokes for kids. Thought it was rather nice of her.

  8. Hello Everyone,

I love to cruise with Carnival and I'm a gold member with them and I would like to know if anyone else hates the new VIFP program that started a few years ago it takes you longer now to reach the next level. I wish that they would go back to the old way. Is it just me or does anyone else feel the same way.:)

I have no problem with the current VIFP program. I pay for a cruise.....anything else offered is just a bonus as far as I'm concerned.
