  1. When it comes to OBC I will buy Johnnie Walker Blue. It is real cheap buying on the cruise ship. The cost in Seattle is over $250.00 per bottle. I put the bottle in my checked luggage. As I have to spend the OBC I will buy Fragrances or even a purse. Our OBC has been $600 to $850 per cruise.

We just bought this on our cruise last week. It was $310 /2 bottles and we got a 10% discount making it $279. It was the same price at the airport in SAN Juan - $280 /2 bottles.

  2. Thank you for coming back to tell us how everything worked out. Glad you got a nice cabin and you will get more tier points/day also with Concierge. If your friends' cabin is on deck 11 it is an A1 (aqua class) and they would be eating in Blu and you would not, so you might want to check on that. If the cabin is on deck 6, 7. 8, or 9, it is a 1A. HTH.

Thank you. It's a 1A. They are on the same deck as us, deck 7, just a few doors down but they didn't get the concierge upgrade.

  3. So I called back and got another rep at my TA. After an hour on the phone with her and her calling Celebrity direct, I was able to upgrade for $250 plus I got an extra $25 OBC!

My friend who booked directly with Celebrity was able to get the same deal.

    I'm pretty happy with that~!

To further update my own post, we upgraded to a guarantee veranda and the cabin was assigned the next morning and is not only a veranda, but concierge class! Our friends who did the same did not get a concierge class, but got an A1 (or is it 1A) veranda on the hump with a larger balcony.

  4. This is only my second cruise, so I'm not sure how this works.

I called our TA today to see about upgrading from an ocean view room to a verandah and was told it would be $900. We made our final payment in September. Cruise is in Dec.

If I go through the booking process for a new booking on Celebrity's website, the same cruise with the same perks is only $240 more than what I paid. So $900 to upgrade an existing cruise seems awfully high to me?

What am I missing here? I booked this cruise on our last cruise and it was transferred to our TA, so will it do any good to call Celebrity directly?

    Thank you

  5. Hi everyone, we are on our second X cruise in Dec out of San Juan. The ship leaves the dock at 8:30 pm, so do you have any idea what time we can start boarding? We have our normal dining time at 8:30 pm, will that be on schedule or changed since that's when the ship is leaving?

Also, the ship arrives back in port at 6 am. I'm guessing an 8:15 flight is too early? the next flight isn't until 1:32 pm.

    Thank you.

  6. I love both these decks for different reasons.

Deck 3 as its near embarkation deck and when returning you don't have to wait in the queue for the lift, you just walk up the stairs. Less movement espically if your mid ship.

Deck 7 if I gave a balcony as the views are interrupted.

As you have an oceanview I would keep your cabin on deck 3.

That's a great point. We have five ports so we will be getting off and on a lot!

  7. Category 7 & 8 Ocean View staterooms are all down in Deck 2. Deck 3 Ocean Views are Category 6. Deck 7 OV's are all the way forward and are category 4.

That's what I understand from the deck plan, but both us and our friends had an 08 but neither of us landed on deck 2, so I'm not sure what to make of that.

  8. The only OV staterooms being offered on your sailing are Guarantees. Unless some actual stateroom numbers become open for your Category, you're pretty much stuck where you are.

I'm assuming you got the free beverage package that they are offering for OV's, so I would recommend you spend most of your time at the Sunset Bar. :D

You are very wise, we did get the free beverage package :) Is there a Sunset Bar on this ship? I'm not seeing it on the deck plans. That was my favorite place on the Reflection.

  9. If you are booked as a "guaranty" and assigned a cabin, you can only move/change staterooms if they are within the exact same category.

My receipt shows an 08 category, but the deck plan shows 08 only on deck 2, but we are assigned to deck 3. My friend is an 08 also, and is on deck 7. Which is confusing to me.

  10. Yes, higher tends to be better but you didn't mention where or when you're sailing.

If it's in rougher waters stay away from the bow and lower may be a bit less motion....

Dec 2016, sailing from San Juan Southern Caribbean. Hope it's not too rough around then, but I'm not sure.
