We have stayed here several times. Walkable to Pikes Place Market and restaurants. The bar has award winning martinis. I'm not a big drinker, but the white chocolate martini was amazing! ;) The upper lobby is attached to the mall where you catch the monorail to the Space Needle. The mall also has a large food court that is currently being renovated. We found that helpful when we wanted a bite to eat, but not a full restaurant meal.

Wow!! You got some beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing! We are heading up there next week.

I have read that there is no wind on the balcony because it is deep. This brings up another question, since there is no wind, does this make this balcony hot? We will be sailing to a hot and humid area and want to be sure there is some breeze.
Thanks for your help!

Oh!!! I haven't been on the boards much lately and just saw that the October 2017 28 day is a go! Sounds wonderful to me!!! We will look into this! Checked the Shutterfly site, looks great, as usual!!

As someone who always has fixed dining, we appreciate when you let people know if you are dining elsewhere. We often wait to order until everyone has been seated. If we know someone is not coming, we don't wait.
Enjoy your cruise!

Wow. I like the interior colors and furniture updates, but DO NOT like the new layout. The bedroom area looks very small and does not give a feeling of spaciousness that I expect from a suite. The pictures from the new ship reinforce this feeling. We have a Signature Suite on an upcoming cruise in April. I will be unhappy if it looks like the new design and not the one we are expecting. Once this design is rolled out on more ships, we will no longer be booking this level of cabin.

Do they let you know about special nights like this before you leave home? I am not familiar with 'white nights'.
Thanks! This trip is on our bucket list. :)

It is great to see some familiar names and faces! Nice to hear that everyone seems to be doing better. :) David is doing good and I would love to take this cruise in 2017. We dreamed, planned, and talked about it for so long that i would really like to go. He still teases me about having ulterior motives for wanting to take Patrick's tour! ;) I will keep my fingers crossed and eyes open.....

Mike, I will watch for the opening for the 2017 cruise in May. Maybe we will get to go this time! Hopefully we can use some of what we learned for this cruise, and that I can actually help.
Glad to hear your wife is doing better. David just finished his last chemo on Wednesday. We will let it work it's magic, then do testing at the end of the month.

I was so looking forward to this excursion! I'm glad you had a great time. Now I'm hungry and there is nothing in the house that sounds as good as what you had on the motu!
Mike and Betty, maybe we will get to do this together sometime! Hope and prayers for Betty's continued healing.

Yahoo!!! So glad to hear that Betty is out of the hospital!! I hope she feels better SOON!!! David and I spent the weekend on the beach in Carlsbad, just north of San Diego. We sat, watched, and listened to the waves of the Pacific ocean thinking of all our roll call friends currently in the middle of it all. Sounds like the cruise is going well and everyone is having fun! Enjoy your upcoming sea days!

Like Nina, we recently cancelled this trip. David is doing well, his treatments are continuing. I look forward to reading about your trip and hope to learn through you as we hope to try again, and do this trip in the future.
Thank you, ahead of time, to everyone who posts from onboard. I know you will have a fabulous time! Can't wait to see pictures and read of your adventures!

We would love to go out of LA, 14 days or even longer. They could do a 14 day from LA to Alaska ending up north, then a 14 day coming south. Maybe stick a 7 day staying up north in between. The ports could vary, encouraging back to backs, and perhaps offering a larger variety of ports. We have done 2 different 14 days-once on Princess, once on HAL. We have also done the 10 day out of San Francisco. Loved the longer cruises, loved seeing more than Skagway, Ketichan, and Juneau.
Entertainment on royal princess now
