  1. I'm traveling here on the BA in march of 17, I have never been here before so what kind of things are there to do on the island? Is it mostly beach or is there other things? How about shopping? TIA!!

  2. I just got off the navigator yesterday and LOVED the R Bar. The bartenders were so fun and we would just hang out at the bar all night. I'm not of legal age to drink so they made me a virgin cucumber martini and it was AMAZING!! I'm really gonna miss those ladies.....

  3. Labadee is Royal Caribbean's private island. It is actually a part of Haiti. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ports/group/home.do?portCode=LAB

As something that was privately developed by RCCL, Labadee is not going to have commercial businesses that are not owned by RCCL or affiliated with them. However, there are some shops and a customs house. Here is the map of Labadee: http://cdn.aboutcruiseships.com/2013/07/map-of-Labadee.jpg We were last there in May and there was no internet available on Labadee.

On your other stops, there will be internet in the port buildings which is usually free. There are also some Starbucks and other internet cafes on these other islands.

    Thanks so much!!

  4. So when we go on our very first cruise this coming March, we will be stopping in labadee, San Juan, st. Kitts, and St. Marteen. I will be spending my birthday in Labadee and I want to be able to connect with all my family and friends but don't wanna spend money on wifi on the ship. Is there like a Dunkin donuts or Starbucks where I can get coffee and wifi? What about the other ports that I'm going to? TIA!!

  5. It all depends on when you are planning on going. In the winter, there is skiing at Alyeska but in the summer there is a lot of outdoor stuff you could do....Girdwood is about a 30-45 min drive to Anchorage, which there is a lot to do there as well.

  6. The community of Soldotna isn't really midway between Homer and Anchorage, but there are several hotels, motels and B & Bs there. While we have never stayed there I've heard nice things about the Kenai Riverbend Resort.

First off, hearing Soldotna mentioned in post is awesome[emoji5]️ (that's where I'm from). As for hotels, hooligans in Soldotna is awesome!! Enjoy Alaska! Anywhere you stay, you will love it!!

  7. So I a have a few questions. But first let me tell you some stuff. I am going on the Navigator of the Seas on March 19, 2016. Traveling with my mom (41) and I'm 18 (19th birthday is during the cruise)!

When we stop in Haiti, is there a BBQ? And can we use our drink packages on the beach?

Also, can I use the Solarium or is it for 21 and over? I like the idea of relaxing poolside with no screaming kids (I love kids and am not trying to be mean). TIA!!!

  8. how are you getting to the port?

we like to get to the port between 10:30. I'd rather sit around and wait as opposed to think I may miss it. besides, check out time at the hotel is 11am. my experience says that 10:30am is less crowds than later on when the flights start rolling in

We are actually staying with a friend who lives in west palm beach! She's taking us to the port to the day of. We want to get at the port at like 10:30 but don't wanna wait a whole lot.

  9. So, this may sound stupid. I have never cruised before and not sure how embarking works. Do we just check in and get on the boat when we want or do we have assigned times to check in? Please help in my confusion! We are on the Navigator of the seas from Fort Lauderdale! TIA

  10. If you have any SPECIFIC questions right now, I am just finishing up Day 3 of our 8-nighter.

Today was Labadee and the sky was overcast, but that kept the temperature down.

Tomorrow, we hit San Juan at 2 P.M.

    :)

I will be taking this cruise in March! I was wondering what days the formal nights are? My birthday is during the cruise, so I'm trying to see if my birthday will be one of the formal Nights! TIA!

  11. We walked up to Sabor and were chided for not having reservations and given a table right next to the rail ... which would have been fine except for the fact that it was still pouring outside. We moved and then moved again trying to get out of the rain ... they had a bunch of tables reserved, but we were in and out before any of those parties showed up.

We got 2 variety menus and it was way too much food. It was all quite good but we could hardly eat the dessert and, quite frankly, I slept horribly from eating too much. Temperance. temperance.

How much does the Sabor cost?

  12. Hey everyone, I've been lurking on this site for awhile trying to plan cruises. Let me start off with some background information so that my questions may get answered appropriately. I am 33 years old and my husband is 26. We are both overweight people and I have a genetic bone disease that makes walking long distances painful. I also have a 15 year old son. Now for the cruising questions. We live in Fort Lauderdale and because we are all afraid of being seasick we think we should take a short cruise to the Bahamas for a first time cruise. Does that sound like a good idea? The idea is we build up to my husband and I taking a week or longer cruise to Alaska for his 30th birthday. Where can do I find advice for planning the family cruise to the Bahamas and the cruise to Alaska?

For the Bahamas cruise we are the thoughts on Atlantis? The commercial makes it look awesome but the reviews are mixed.

Also for the Bahamas trip, I'm worried about my son the teenager. He's very shy so should I look into asking one of his friends parents to come with us?

For my husband's 30th birthday cruise his birthday is September 10th. What are the thoughts on going to Alaska around then?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

As I am from Alaska, I would recommend going to Alaska in the middle of the summer like July. It's kinda chilly on land in September, so being on a ship would be really cool. Just my opinion. Alaska is beautiful when ever you visit!!

  13. Just completed a sailing on Navigator today. She is a fabulous SHIP. We had a great time. Food in the MDR was fine, service was OK. The wait staff have quite a few tables to handle in the MDR and we had a very full sailing with 3800 passengers and a little over a 1000 children, which may have taxed the wait staff a bit....but we had a very good time dining in the MDR. We did enjoy Izumi very much -- it is the only specialty restaurant that we go to on board. DH also took the "Sushi Class" and he loved it.

We had Jerome Sueur as CD and Cuddy Cudsworth as Activity Manager and they are a great pair together. Kept the activities moving along nicely.

We had a port change since it was too choppy for the tenders to get us to Coco Cay. That day was turned into a sea day and the next day we visited Costa Maya instead of having a sea day. All worked out well.

We had very choppy waters, and you could not help noticing it on the ship. It was NOT a terrible experience, it is not as if people were getting seasick....it was just not 'crystal like glass seas'. I wanted to go to the Helipad, but access to it, was closed due to high winds -- very understandable.

Nice gym, wonderful Promenade, lots to do if you want to be doing things or you can do nothing.

Diamond Lounge is very nice on Deck 14, right off of the Viking Lounge, which also has a section called the Cosmopolitan Lounge where they had late night music and dancing (it was very loud up there).

I don't have access to the Concierge Lounge, but friends that do, said the DL was much nicer and larger. The DL was NOT at any time overcrowded, but that could be because we did not have a huge amount of C&A members on board...there was a tremendous amount of Gold, Platinum and Emerald cruisers on board who of course are not eligible to use the DL; if they are in suites they can use the Concierge Lounge as can anyone in a suite.

the the restaurant Jade a specialty restaurant? What about Izumi?
