  1. I emailed nonstop the entire cruise, even emailed pictures to people. I uploaded pictures to Facebook and also Photobucket right from the ship. No issues with email at all. We mostly communicated with FB Messenger or iMessenger. For FB Messenger, we used the voice option to speak 2 times each day to our son. We did this the entire transatlantic with no issues. We also video-chatted with him via Facetime app. I wouldn't simply assume it isn't going to work for you.

I have not had issues either. It's slow, and I wouldn't be using it as much as I am now if I didnt have the unlimited package, but it's certainly working.

  2. We bought the unlimited wifi plan. Like Don said , if we were paying by the minute, this would not be worth it at all. It is very slow . If you have the unlimited plan, and have patience, it is fine. I'm able to text and call my kids, read email, post here, and access facebook. I was even able to FaceTime yesterday, although it was very slow and I eventually gave up on it.

We are in cabin 11134. It is a regular balcony cabin, and I have no issues at all with the balcony. The balconies on the Away ships are so small. These are decent size, and I wouldn't hesitate to book one again.

We have been eating like total pigs! The food at Margaritaville is outstanding. We also ate 3 sushi rolls and sliders at Food Republic - also outstanding. We saw For the Record last night. The show was good. I didnt eat the dinner - didnt care for it at all. The appetizer was good, and the dessert was good. We hve After Midnight tonight.

We got to see our favorite bartender Bong who promptly ran out from behind the bar to hug and kiss my husband and myself as soon as he saw us. That was nice, and I was happy to see him as well.

Today is a ship and pool day. We are in Nassau, and I have been here too many times to waste ship time on the island ;-)

This is an amazing ship. Simply amazing. Eating in the MDR tonight, and looking forward to it!

  3. If someone is trying to save the $110 for the passport, I doubt if they'll be on Seabourn soon. So it was moot.

Thank you for your assumption. My brother has a terminal illness and has exhausted his savings on medical treatments. He went from a high 6-figure salary to just about nothing now. This will be his last trip before he dies. So no, he won't be on Seabourn any time soon; however, he has had far more luxury in his short 42 years than most have had in a lifetime. In the end, none of it matters. Good people die, and jerks are still jerks.

  4. If he is looking to save then a birth certificate and government issued ID would do the trick for a closed loop cruise. He's already in the system since he's had a passport so if something happened that he needed to fly home the Consulate should be able to issue his documents faster.

That's great. Thank you very much - I will let him know.

  5. Dan, there is really no comparison from the Home Lines' ships and those floating amusement park resorts that are out today. Home Lines Oceanic was glorious. I met people who had sailed on her over 30 times. I was lucky to sail 3X.

Many of the complaints you read on cc today were not even thought of. We used to "rent" a deck chair for the week, drinks were $1, dining room experience was classy and delicious (not to mention the gorgeous waiters).

I just wish there was a ship like that out there now (that I could afford). There is nothing as memorable about my other more recent cruises.

I remember that! We had our own deck chairs AND our own deck attendant for the week. Cruising was so classy then ... doesn't even compare to today.
