  1. I'd clean it up as best as I could, using even shampoo so its not a horrible wreck for the poor steward. Fill the sink with hot water and add soap. IMO, BF should be doing it..but he cant. So you should do it because its your room too.

Then I'd make him tell the room steward, apologize and give him/her the biggest tip of their life.

Next up, I'd make sure my boyfriend knew how revolted I was. He's an adult. Most everyone has been there..overdrink a bit, get sick..I'm sure its not the first time this has happened on a Carnival ship lol But to destroy a bathroom? That's disgusting.

  2. I did the rainforest zipline in Belize in 2014. I was talked into it.. I do not like heights, I don't like amusement park rides..I just had a panic attack last week at a hockey game because we were up in the nose-bleed section. I'm just not a daring person.

I hated every second. haha I had actual tears streaming down my face..there was a crowd of lovely French Canadians behind me, saying "Its okay, Lets all pray for her!"

It was 6 or 7 different platforms that took you down through the rainforest..and if you hated it, you didn't have a choice..you have to keep zippin until you reached the bottom. It was the most terrifying thing I've ever done..stepping off the first platform with nothing but the tops of the rainforest trees below you.

That said, I'm glad I did it. I did something that terrified me. I'll never do it again. But for one afternoon of my life, I was pretty badass :D

  3. I like to change it up according to the season but my die-hard pick is Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb. I wear that all year long..I always go back to it.

Other picks are.. Chanel Coco Noir, Theirry Mugler Alien. I also really like the Sonia Kashuk line at Target. The one in the yellow bottle is lemony and so summery.

  4. The sting rays mouths are in the middle of the underside of the rays. You just hold the 'meat' FLAT on the palm of your hand and they suck it up! If a thumb or finger is not flat, they suck it up too!

We actually weren't allowed to feed the stingrays when I was there in 2014 :( They said that scientists were finding that the stingrays have high cholesterol because of all the frequent feedings they get.

  5. All excursions were booked thru Carnival.

Grand Cayman--This was by far my most favorite excursion. We did a stingray/snorkel tour. The stingray part was amazing. Water was a little too rough for the snorkel part but it was still enjoyable. The excursion took up most of the in port time.

Mahogany Bay- Dolphin Encounter..this was also amazing. We did have a little extra time at the port dock to shop around afterwards.

Cozumel- We did a beach excursion which was nice. I'm not a big sun person so just one day of the beach was fine for me. Lunch was provided. Cozumel was the only place that I had vendors chasing me and annoying me to buy.

Belize-- Saved Belize for last because it was stressful! We did a zipline/cave tubing tour. First off, you take a school bus to the place..and its a looooooong drive. You do get to see a lot but Belize is a very poor country. At one point, there were shirtless men along the dirt road with machetes and sawed off shotguns..being a 1st time cruiser AND the first time out of USA, I instantly thought "Okay, this is where I am kidnapped into white slavery and I die.." Once we got to the tour place, the actual excursion was fun. I loved the cave tubing, it was very interesting. But the excursion takes up ALL of your port time because of the long drive..in fact, we were so late back to the ship..as we raced to the ship on the tender, the cruise ship's anchor was coming up out of the ocean! We had to eat our included meal on the bus. It was very rushed and that makes me anxious. This is one that I was VERY glad we booked through the ship because we would have missed the ship otherwise.

If you have any specific questions about any of the excursions, I'll be happy to help.

  6. I just saw this thread.. I'm a big oil fan :)

On my upcoming cruise, I will take:

OnGuard--Good for protection against infections, germs, etc.

    Lavender--Cuts and sunburns, calming

Frankincense--I don't go anywhere without my Frank..If its good enough for Jesus, I'll try it on whatever ailment that might come up! haha

Ylang-Ylang--I can't sleep without Ylang on my feet

    Digest-Zen--Upset stomach, digestion

I had a friend who took her diffuser on her cruise haha I'm not that bad, I value my suitcase space too much!

  7. Such an interesting thread! I'm new to cruising but I remember being little(in the late 80s-90s) and hearing my aunts talk about how they had to go buy their cruise gowns. I thought that was just a best thing ever and couldn't wait until I could go buy mine.

Fast forward to now.. I'll be on a Carnival ship in October which the idea of a formal night there is laughable. But I still think I'm going to go get my special cruise dress :) Who cares if I'm the only one..I'll be happy!

  8. We did ziplining/cave tubing in Belize and it was amazing. But we're very glad we booked through the cruise ship because our excursion was so late back to port(and they acted like its a normal thing because you have to drive pretty far to get there.) If you book through the ship, they wait for your group. There was about 40 of us on the tender, racing back to the ship while they were pulling up the anchor! haha That'll get your heart racing, seeing that chain coming up :)

The cave tubing was the best part..very enjoyable and interesting. Our guide was so informative and friendly.

  9. But lots of jobs are hard work, yet seem not to attract tips.

Never have got the hang of why that is.

I just commented because I'm personally aware of how hard housekeepers and room attendants work and I want to thank them for helping me enjoy my vacations.

  10. I don't know, I just have always tipped the housekeeper when I stay overnight in a hotel if the room is taken care of.. I definitely will tip my cruise steward extra as well.

I've noticed that this is something that some younger people don't tend to do. I've had my friends look at me like I'm crazy if I tuck a $20 in an envelope in a hotel. I've done it since I was in my early 20's until now(32) because I just know its hard work (my Mom cleaned hotel rooms for years) and she always stressed the importance of respecting the people/work that they do. Beyond that, just be polite to them..smile and ask about their day if you see them in the hall or leaving your room. So many people act like they're just servants :(

Obviously the extra tip is based on the service but I do the pre-paid gratuities too.
