  1. Thank you all for the replies. They have been very helpful.

I just booked an aft premium deluxe balcony (M727). Does anyone have any insight into this room? It seemed just about as large as the mini suites (300+ SF), but was a little better in cost.

  2. We are considering our first cruise on the Regal Princess. (We have cruised on Carnival, Disney, and Norwegian before). The differences between a mini-suite class and a balcony class are not clear to me. Is it just that the room is bigger? Are their any other perks that come with the mini-suite? And which (by size) are the best mini-suites to get? I called Princess, but the lady on the phone was not very helpful in selecting a room (based on size).

Also, as I understand it, the beverage package includes all drinks below $10. On Norwegian, this is $15. Are a significant percentage of drinks below $10, or do you find yourself paying an upcharge quite often?

If there is anything else about Princess anyone thinks would be helpful, I would appreciate that, too.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Is there some place we can view the universal kid's menu? I am considering this option, and our kids are 6 and 10. The 6 year old won't care, but our oldest is a healthy and explorative eater, so I don't want to make her have only Mac and cheese and pizza for four nights.

I know there is plenty of food available around the ship, but I still don't want her to have a bad experience at dinner on those nights. Thanks!

  4. I find the SDP fairly confusing as well, and I'm hoping someone can shed some light. Here are some questions we have:

    1. If we don't purchase the SDP, the we can attend any specialty restaurant, but just have to pay a la carte, correct?

    2. How do we know how mush menu items are are these restaurants? Are there menus with pricing we can view?

    3. NCL lists the 3-day SDP at ~$69.00 per person. Does that include any surcharges and gratuities?

    4. If we purchase the SDP, we can eat at various other restaurants for an "upcharge". But how does this work at say Sushi? We can get any item on the menu for $7.00, or as much as we want for $7.00? Just once throughout the trip (meaning, does the $7.00 upcharge get charged everyday (if we eat from there everyday)?

    5. More philosophically, is it worth paying extra to eat in the specialty dining rooms when you've already paid for meals in the MDRs? Is the experience that good?

Sorry for all these questions, but we have never traveled NCL before (and we are excited!) and this specialty dining process is confusing.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.

  5. We had room 9320 in December you will love it.

The bed is by the balcony. Enjoy your cruise.

Thanks so much, grooker. We have sailed on mega ships before (Disney Dream), but we have always stayed mid-ship in an upper deck. Our only concern with the aft balcony was that it would feel removed from everything, or that everything would be a long walk. Did you (or anyone) experience this? Thanks.
