  1. I just completed my first Celebrity cruise earlier this month and qualified for some discounted and free cruise offers. No postcards or emails received thus far, but I have received 3 offers through the BlueChipClubOffers.com site. Anyone know if it’s typical that the site provides more offers than email/postcard, or should I get a corresponding email for each offer I see on the site?

You can actually pull up an existing cruise's schedule and play around with it.

On the app, click on the "person" icon at the top.  Then click on "Select a different sailing >".  If you have other cruises booked, they'll show up in a list.... scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click on "Get more details on ships we support >".  Then you choose a ship name, and then you choose a sailing date (current or next week will have the most data loaded).

That’s a useful hack. I tried it out and was able to interact with the schedule of a current cruise. It was helpful to see how the schedule works on the app and makes me feel a bit more confident of how to use the system once aboard. Thx!

You can screenshot anything you want on your phone... or you could just look at the app if you have your phone on you anyway.

Sorry, I worded my comment poorly. I meant to say that I was able to screenshot an entire day of the schedule on my phone so that I could zoom in and out on the schedule without needing to be in the app.

My last RCI cruse was pre-smartphone era, so I’m excited to see how the daily schedule works using the app. While I am accustomed to a paper copy of the schedule, it has its own drawbacks and includes far more information than I really need. Plus, after I take the time to mark up the events I’m interested in, I inevitably lose the paper schedule and have to start over.

I’m going to do a little hunting to see if I can find a demo of how the daily schedule works on the app.

I still enjoy the printed copies.  Can we just print a few copies for those who enjoy them?

Would be cool if they could be printed out onboard on demand for those who want them. Then no unused extras go unused.

On my last NCL cruise, I was able to take screenshots of the daily schedule from the app. Can something similar be done from RCI’s app, or not so much?

    You dont say what ship.

Yes, apologies. I’ve been looking at the Carnival Radiance. For an example of this “convertible bunk” phrasing =, take a look at the deck plans’ description of Cabin 2347. In contrast, Cabin 5301 would be an example where Carnival describes an “upper pullman”. I’m puzzled as to the difference between these two bed styles.

  6. Looking into booking a short “back-to-cruising” cruise with Carnival for the first time in quite a few years. We will be travelling with a 12-year-old and were looking at an Oceanview or Balcony. We’d like to keep the sofa bed in its “sofa” setup for our trip, so I was poring over the deck plans to see what our options are.

I noticed that some rooms indicate they have a “single sofa bed with convertible bunk,” while others list “one upper pullman and single sofa bed.” Can anyone explain the difference between Carnival’s “convertible bunks” and their “upper pullmans”? My Google image search yielded similar results for both search strings. 🤔

  7. So when a cruise gets cancelled, am I correct in understanding that NCL will give one 10%-off coupon to each person booked on that cruise (or at least the first 2 guests)? Unless I misinterpreting, the responses above seem to indicate this is the case.

So when my May 2021 cruise eventually gets cancelled, I should expect one 10%-off coupon to end up in my Latitudes acct, and one in my wife’s acct?

  8.

Speaking of percents-off discounts, this came up in one of the other threads I'm on, and I was wondering if anyone on here knows the answer:

So, if NCL cancels one of my cruises, their practice has been to offer me 10% off a future cruise. Question: If NCL cancels another one of my cruises, can I "stack" the second 10%-off discount on top of my first discount for 20% off a future cruise? #askingforafriend

I would think so considering they need to meet the conditional sail order in place. And not have any simulated voyages as of yet. So I am holding off on canceling so I can get another 10% off on my May 2021 cruise that will hopefully be canceled.

Hold the phone! Does that mean the 10%-off discounts are stackable? So if I have a cruise in May and a cruise in June that NCL cancels, then can I use both discounts to get 20% off a future cruise? Or will it just be 10% off each future cruise that I book?

Clinical trials are going on now. It is just a matter of time.

This is true, but I don't think a vaccine for the under-16 set is on the immediate horizon. (We were recently asked if our daughter would want to join the clinical trial, so at least one kids' vaccine is still gathering participants.) I guess it will depend on whether and which cruise lines establish a vaccine requirement to embark on a sailing.

I don't know what the situation will be in October, but I feel pretty sure you won't have a better indication in June at this point. The only thing that may allow a mask free cruise is if they require a vaccination. And I don't think they will require a vaccination until there is enough supply for it to be available to anyone worldwide. That isn't going to happen by June. Doubt it will happen by October.

Also worth keeping in mind is that a vaccine-required cruise will affect the demographics of who can cruise at that time. As no vaccine for kids under 16 is ready yet, mandatory-vaccine sailings will probably only be open to those aged 16 and older.

  12. ...any idea on when ncl 2018 Amtrak codes are typically posted?? Amtrak allows reservations to be made 11 months out.. so not sure when the 2018 codes will be made available?

As of today, both the 2017 and 2018 Amtrak discount codes are posted on https://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/amtrak

There are two "NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE AMTRAK DISCOUNT 2017" sections on the page, but the second section appears to be mislabeled and instead provides the 2018 discount code.

  13. For those still tracking this issue, NCL did issue a 2017 Amtrak discount code good for 20% off coach fares and 15% off sleepers. Take a look at https://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/amtrak

Normally, I wouldn't post a new thread for the 2017 Amtrak/NCL discount code considering it's almost Thanksgiving, but upon closer examination, it appears the page above provides both 2017 and 2018 codes.
