WOW! Can't wait to go to this bar, really sounds interesting, it's nice to see a different kind of bar on a new ship and I get to be one of the first ones to try it out on her Maiden Voyage:cool:

We finally made it back to our room after a long but fun day, but much to my kids disappointment, there was no towel animal.
Instead of a towel animal, our cabin attendant had a great idea to freak my wife out when she would go into the bathroom to take a shower, and it worked. I loved it!!!
.
Thanks for the Great Review and this is to funny, I love it:eek::D

Terri, great review and you take really beautiful pictures, thank you:cool:

We sailed the November 29th cruise on the Legend and visited Mahogany Bay in Roatan, Honduras on Friday December 4. According to the locals, we were the third ship to visit since it opened. Weather was beautiful, sunny, and in the mid 80s. A far cry from the deep snow and sub zero temperatures we are experiencing since we returned home!
The ship was in great shape and we would not hesitate to sail her again. Crew very friendly and the food was great. Several reviews have already been posted by others of the ship. This review will focus on Carnival's new pier and beach in Roatan.
This will be a rather long review with a lot of pictures, so bear with me as it will take time to post it all.
Above is what you will see when approaching the new pier.
There are two piers, so two ships can be in port at the same time.
The new beach area is easily visible from the ship. We had three adjoining balcony cabins on the port side, so has a very good view. The ship "backed in" to the port.
My son-in-law and I debarked as soon as the ship had clearance, so were some of the first off the ship. After walking through the entrance shop, there is a very large shopping area. Not all of the shops were open yet and some were still under construction.
The above was one of those not open yet. Those that were open included Diamonds International (of course), Pirana Joe, Fat Tuesday, and some of the typical cruise port shops you usually see. I didn't see anything unique, as far as shops go. Inventory in the shops I did go in was a little sparse yet. A T shirt shop that I grabbed a T shirt at did not yet have working cash registers or bar code scanners, so everything was done by hand. Clerks all spoke very good English.
More to come.............
Cruisetobeaches, Thank you for sharing, I really like your review and I am looking forward to going to Roatan, Honduras:cool:

Karen, Sandy and Steve, i can't wait for my Alaska Cruise but I will be on the Jewel in a few months so I will be able to tell the difference as it has been a few years since I have been on Radiance:eek::cool:

LOL, Frank, I just saw this post. (I was the correspondent.) The crew did a great job -- it was Captain Sindre. :)
Hi Karen, I heard all about it from PJ also....I will be sailing on the Radiance next year to Alaska as I want to see the ship with all it's new stuff:cool:
Did you try any of the specialty restaurants?;)
Carol:)

My onboard reporter says that after 4 1/2 hours they are underway again. The problem was an oil leak and it has been repaired.
Have great cruises, all of you who are going joining our favorite ship in Vancouver!
Frank in dark and cool SBA:cool:
Hi Frank, great to know the Radiance is okay and on her way again:D
Do you still have my e-mail? if so please e-mail me as I have a few question I want to ask you:eek:
Hope Bob and I get to sail with you and Norm again soon;)
Carol:)

Hey Carol ... come with us next year!!! :D
Hi Lorna, I can't because I will just be getting back from Hawaii but I will go with you one of these day without Bob so you have to have someone that I can share a cabin with:eek::cool:
I may just go over to Vancouver to meet you when you are here as I hope you will be having a dinner before the cruise and I can meet everyone;)
Carol:)

Jen, I thought I would not want to go back to Alaska but looking at all your pictures and reading your review I think I will have to go again:eek:

Deck - 9
Cabin # - 9729
Class – B1
Front Starboard, Front Port, Back Starboard, Back Port, Central Park, or Boardwalk - Boardwalk, aft, starboard
Bed near?(balcony or bath) – bath
Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Very quiet with balcony door closed. Very little ambient sounds from Boardwalk
Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions or privacy was an issue– Excellent view of Aqua Theater and aft ocean views. Watched the shows here with no problems!
Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal for class, but smaller than D1
Was wind a problem? NO
Any specific problems with this cabin? I would prefer the couch next to the closet. It was nearly impossible to get things in and out of closet with the bed next to it. Limited storage space. Tiny counter space. Poor electrical plug location
Any other comments?
Thanks, and I can't wait to be on her in September 2010 with all of my Cruise Critic friends.
Hello Rob, you are going in October not September:confused: :D LOL
I am still looking for Cabin 10600 D1:eek:

I'll be saying goodbye to my Song of Norway figurine soon. My ebay auction will be ending. It's kind of sad to see her go, but I'm retired and downsizing now. I think I can google another picture or two of her so I'm off to search. To everyone who posted pictures....Thanks for the memories!
Hello sea-cruise, I got up 5 min. to late for my last bid so I lost it:( It finished at 6:45 AM my time and I went to my computer as soon as I woke up but it was to late:( Thanks for giving my the E-Bay # so I could bid for it:D
Carol:)

AHA! There the SoN is! AQHA figured it out for you Carol! :)
Thanks Suzanne, but I have seen it before, I was not able to bid as they keep saying my name was wrong but I just got everything fixed up and I was able to bid:eek: :D
sea-cruise, do you know the other people who are bidding?
Carol:)

Hi Carol, Maybe your computer's browser won't allow you to click on the link and then go straight to the auction page.
Try going to ebay and then search "Song of Norway". You should be able to see it then. Good luck and have a good night. :)
Good Morning sea-cruise,
I got in on the bid OK, thanks:D

Hi Carol, I have it but it's already listed on ebay. You can see it here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230144957154&rd=1&rd=1
Hi again, Sorry I just can't seem to do it, maybe I can get Emmy to try for me later:(

We cruised on the Song of Norway out of Los Angeles about 16 years ago. I remember she had the green plastic indoor/outdoor carpeting on the pool deck, and the furniture on the deck was lime green and yellow.
The glass wall and doors that went into the lounge was decorated with Gibson Girl Ladies in pinks and beige colors.
I have a model of that ship with her name on the base, that I bought when I was onboard. I'm putting it on ebay next week so please watch for it. :)
Hello sea-cruise, do you still have the Song of Norway model and if so I do not know how to do the E-Bay thing :( You can always find me on the Explorer of the Seas April 25 2008 thread:D Thanks
Carol:)
