  1. I was on the Eurodam this summer and we docked in Kotor. We didn't have to tender, which was great since we were only in port 8am to 11am. Make sure you do the hike. It's worth the trek!

Here's a picture of us docked.

  2. We gambled every night of our 12 day cruise on the Eurodam. We loved the dealers and pit bosses. They have a great deal every night where you pay $10 for a lotto ticket, drink, match play card, and 2-for-1 black jack tournament entry.

  3. DH and I sailed on a Caribbean itinerary on NA last February, and felt seriously underdressed in nice pants/shirt for him and black pants/dressy blouse for me. Nearly everyone was in a dark suit, some dinner jackets, lots and lots of glittery cocktail dresses. We were surprised as we thought we'd be fine. Oh, well.

Even though others were dressy, I'm sure they didn't mind or will even remember that you weren't. I loved that people were formally dressed for Gala nights and pretty well dressed on regular nights. But, I pretty much glossed over the people who weren't and I didn't care either way.

On the Eurodam this summer, the menu in the Lido was very different than in the MDR. I would say 2 or 3 items overlapped.

  4. We've only been on one cruise in the Med this summer, but I loved how a good majority of the men and women dressed up - dark suits, tuxes and gowns for our gala nights. The wives were gaga over their spiffy husbands. Wear what you want, but really wear what your significant other loves to see you in! [emoji16]

  5. I wore cute swim coverups that looked like summer dresses, but were water absorbent. My husband wore a t-shirt and used the towel to wrap around his waist after he was wet.

I would never wear a bath robe outside of my room and the few people who did were definitely looked at funny by others in the pool area. One couple even came to the muster in bathrobes. [emoji15]

  6. We were on the Eurodam last month. I'm not aware of a 24 hr buffet. But, we did use their 24 hr room service at all hours of the night and early morning. You can get your coffee and whatever else you want off the 24 hr menu delivered at anytime.

  7. We were on the Eurodam last month. We are drinkers, but since our cruise was very port intensive, we were off the ship for most of the day. We would get back by 5 or 6 each day, just in time for happy hour. Most alcoholic drinks are $6.95. We opted for bottles of wine, rather than buying by the glass. We always bought drinks only during HH. You can bring it back to your room and drink it later.

  8. I was on the Eurodam and we played craps every night. We always had great dealers. I made the most money on 3-card and Black Jack. I lost the most on roulette. The slots weren't so kind to us!

  9. I think I read once that the dividers adjoining the Pinnacle Suite don't open.

And none of us were rolling in a Pinnacle Suite! The newlyweds had the fabulous Aft Neptune and we had 4 rooms on each side of them. We were in the middle since I was nervous about the motion sickness. I was glad we had a middle room!

  10. We didn't get stickers for any of our wine that we paid a corkage fee for. We told our steward and he looked up that we had paid corkage. For people in our group that went on HAL excursions, they were allowed to bring on board and into the MDR. They just told the wine steward and he was good with it. We tipped at the end of the cruise for every bottle we brought and paid for.

  11. When we were on the Eurodam 2 weeks ago, our group of 50 all had verandah rooms on deck 5. All of them opened up and connected. You just have to ask you steward to open and release your wall. There might be some that don't, but out of 20 rooms, we didn't encounter any that didn't. You could email

HAL and ask to be sure

  12. That must have been great on Gala nights to have a DR full of dressed-up pax! A bit of a throw-back to former times.

Yes, it was. I had been reading CC about how no one dresses up anymore. I found this totally not to be the case on our ship. In almost all areas, except the pool and Lido, people dressed to see the shows, listen to the Lincoln Center ladies, play in the Casino or hang out at the bars. I didn't see very many slouches, if anything, we saw people dressing very formally through out the cruise and its venues. I paid close attention to what people were wearing since all I've read is that people dress casually and no one likes to dress formally anymore. Even the teens were wearing suits or dress shirts with ties.

I'm glad our first cruise was on the Eurodam and had a Mediterranean itinerary. The people were pleasant and dressed very well throughout. In the ports, people dressed casually since it was so darn hot, but they all seemed to quickly change on the ship. I also didn't hang out in the ship during the day and went out late. Maybe it was all the late crowd who dressed, but even our cruise director announced people should be dressing to the nines.

    I loved it

  13. On our cruise, anything that wasn't straight up regular wine, was confiscated. Even though vermouth may be closely related to wine, I saw this confiscated on our ship. Some people smuggled and got away with stuff, but I wouldn't count on it

  14. Our newlyweds booked the Aft Neptune Suite - SB5186 on our Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona. It was amazing! We all loved sharing in their suite. The only time it wasn't so useful was during the day, when we were baking under the sun. The evenings were fabulous. We ordered nibbles and had drinks on their balcony often. We also had the 3 rooms on each side of them, so we had a huge wrap around deck to enjoy.

  15. Posted on another thread a second ago. We were on the Eurodam 2 weeks ago out of Barcelona and had the late, set seating in the MDR at 8:15pm. Through out the cruise, people were dressed well. The only times I saw people causal were in the Lido and by the pool. I heard the early seating in the MDR, people were little less formal. On regular nights, men dressed nicely in pants and nice shirts, dresses for women. I would say a little nicer than what most people would consider "smart casual." On Gala nights, people dressed more formally. Dark suits, tuxes, gowns, sparkles, chiffon, etc.

From what I understand, it depends on your itinerary. Mediterranean cruises appear to have guests who like to dress up a bit more than other cruises. Earlier seatings, tend to be more casual.

It really doesn't matter, dress how you like! You don't know any of these people and you probably won't ever see them again. Our group liked to dress up every night, it was so nice seeing all the men and women look fabulous. But, we really didn't mind what others chose to wear.

  16. I was on 2 weeks ago. I could go through my dailies, but from what I recall, it changed every day and they tried to match it with a port that was coming up. It will probably depend on your itinerary. We loved the in room movie selection.

  17. We were on a very hot Mediterranean cruise, so I didn't see men wear jeans. But, I'm sure it's totally acceptable.

I've only been on one cruise, but from what I saw during the 8:15pm MDR seating, the late night the crowd dressed very well. Gala nights, people went all out. There might have been smart casual people in the room for normal MDR evenings, but it was drowned out by the majority of people who wore slacks and nice shirts (men), dresses for women for regular nights.

On Gala nights, the room was full of dark suits and tuxes with the ladies in nice dresses or at least sparkles of some sort. It was nice to be greeted each Gala night with the captain and officers, with their wives, dressed in full formal wear.

But really, it doesn't matter. People didn't seem to care either way how you dress.
