  1. I'm grateful to all of you who've helped me learn  💯

Tip of the hat to @Asawi and @Katie H!   Thanks for the guidance about the steps to do it...  You need to click the link under "free pages" (or something like that) without logging into the personal account.

If I've misunderstood, please point me in the right direction, okay?  I'm ignorant.  But it's the kind of ignorant that wants to learn.

  2. I was unable to find this topic when I searched in the NCL forum.  So, I'm asking it as a new topic.

If you've cruised with NCL in sometime in 2023,

     - did you used NCL's Internet Café to connect with the Cruise Critic website?

If yes, did NCL comp you for the minutes spent while connected to domain: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/ ?  Are they still giving free time so CC members can post a Live Cruise Report

  3. Back in 2018, we took public bus route #7  to reach the beaches along Bermuda's South Shore.  The trip took about 35 minutes and it immersed us briefly into island life.

The bus stop was a short walk from the ship (docked at Royal Navy Dockyard).

It was a highlight of our Bermuda trip to explore South Shore Park and its amazing coves & beaches.

To any current or recently returned cruisers that have experienced this, can twice daily be requested or is it prohibited?

I still hope to see an answer to the original question asked by New2cruise2022.

Have any recently returned cruisers requested and received twice daily service in their NON-Haven cabin (tipping appropriately, of course!)?

You need to log in to the website and set up date and time for the interview. They then send you the information so that you can connect to the interview at the appointed time.

My renewal was completed in less than 48 hours without an interview.

That being said, I'm acknowledging that:

    •  The passport number already on file for me was still the same.  It had not changed/renewed.
    •  The state ID I carry is an 'Enhanced' ID  (REAL ID).
  6. Because of your posting, Don, I've begun the renewal process early.  Your posting made a difference.  Thanks for the heads-up about renewal delays.

For others in the same situation of needing to renew TSA PreCheck or Global Entry in 2023, I used website: https://secure.login.gov/   to begin my renewal process.

FWIW, Here are the instructions provided on the website for renewing:

How do I renew my Trusted Traveler (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST) membership?
You become eligible to renew your membership 1 year prior to program expiration. If you submit a renewal application before your membership expires, you will be able to continue to use benefits after your membership expiration date. Follow these steps to renew your Trusted Traveler membership:

Log in to the TTP website (click https://ttp.dhs.gov).

If you don't have a login.gov account, you will be directed to login.gov to create an account first then you will be prompted to setup your TTP account profile. On the profile page, you will need to associate the account with your PASSID (membership number). See the back of your Trusted Traveler card or your approval letter

    .
From your Dashboard, select the Renew button on your Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST program membership section.

You must declare your citizenship (if you are a US Citizen, you declare "U.S.").

Select the program that you wish to renew. You may select to renew another program for which you are eligible. However, remember that depending on the program you choose, your benefits may change. On the next page, acknowledge the program requirements.

Follow the guidelines provided on the Membership Renewal page.

When you have updated all information in the application, on the Final Review page, click Confirm and Continue in each section. At the bottom of the page, click Save and Continue.

On the Certify page, answer Yes or No to "Do you certify?"

Select Next. The Purchase Summary page will display.

Fees are for application processing and are non-refundable. Check the box under the total application fee to agree and proceed.

Select Pay Now. The online payment page displays.

After payment, you will be returned to your TTP Dashboard.

Charlotte Town on PEI is always a good stop...

...Prior to leaving the ship Mrs Banjo wanted to do a bit of laundry, since the self laundry was close bye, I took all of the items that we don’t send out and got them into the washing machine.  I don’t know how, but when I started the machine, it locked into a 3 hour wash cycle.  Mrs Banjo was not to happy with me! ...

Thanks for the updates you've been posting!

The laundromat you used...  was it  "Downtown Convenience & Laundromat"

If not, can you remember the name/location of the one you & Mrs. Banjo used?

  8. Denise, I hope you've noticed that your profile pic here on Cruise Critic has been updated.  It now shows that you've earned a rare designation for posting this Coming Soon! Live from NCL Pearl 10/14/2022 to 10/21/2022 Boston-to-Bostin Canada/New England.  Thanks for doing it!

Did NCL offer passengers a mid-cruise laundry special...  one low price for a bag-full?

     - if yes, on what date did they offer it to you?

Thanks for pics and the thoughtful writeup about your first cruise!

  9. Hooray!  NCL's Updated COVID Protocol for Canada

Effective 01 October 2022, the website for Norwegian has been updated.  Beginning on that date, NCL's boarding procedure for Canada:

     - discontinues requiring passengers to show an ArriveCAN approval.

     - discontinues requiring passengers to prove vaccination

     - discontinues requiring a pre-cruise negative COVID test result

As time passes, NCL might change their Canada COVID protocol again.  So, here's the NCL link, making it easy to verify.  https://www.ncl.com/travel-requirements-by-country#canada

So do you have to fill it out before you board AND before you arrive in Canada?  I'm a little confused about that.

    Hi, Rogueperson.

Firstly, keep your eye on news from Canada.  It's possible that Canada's travel-related COVID requirements may be changing soon (as early as Sept. 30, 2022).  Until changes go into effect, we all must comply with current Canadian requirements.

Secondly, requirements set by the Canadian government for international travel can be found on their website:  https://cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/gbi-rgf-eng.html.  This includes a section specifically for COVID-19 Cruise Ship Travel.  As of today, Sept 20, 2022, this section describes the circumstances when, YES, two ArriveCAN submissions may be needed.

  11. Even though it's been more than 4 years since Steven_&_Daniel asked their questions - they're still good; still valid. As gym rats like us anticipate our next cruise - those questions invite us to think ahead; to plan

I was just curious as to how other gym rats handle being on vacation.

    Do you skip the workouts/exercise?

Do you continue to eat healthy?

How do you handle all those tempting desserts?

The habit of group fitness classes is what we enjoy at home. So we recreate that experience as best we can while cruising. That means one of us "leads/coaches" the workout - and if other cruisers decide to jump in, all good! You'll find us in the gym most mornings 6am-ish.

    Most memorable experience:
    on a Princess cruise.

    - Scissor Sisters Song:

    - Five cruisers joined in with us

    - Spa employees paused what they were doin' to come watch

    - Applause when we finished

    So, no - we don't skip workouts/exercise.

    As for eating healthy...

    - In late afternoon, the two of us go to the cafeteria/buffet for sushi

    - Later, in main dining (free) we've learned to ask for an appetizer-sized portion of the entree.

    And lastly, the tempting desserts...

    -
    Nope. Nothing. No control

    - just awareness that every 100 calorie serving requires ten minutes more of cardio

Kudos to CadillacRon for sharing his appreciation of the gym on NCL Epic

As a bodybuilder, I tend to book ships based on the gym facilities. After 45+ cruises, I think NCL Epic has the most impressive gym. All the equiptment was new and the layout was great. It's the only cruise ship gym I know of that has a smith machine squat rack and a seated calf raise. I'm going on the Allure this spring so we'll see which one "wins"

  12. My partner and I along with one of our single friends (who's hag left him solo) will be sailing among you. We're not part of the big PP group (Pied Piper). Does anyone know how many PP's will be represented? Looking forward to having a good time and meeting new people. Next week can't come quickly enough!

You asked how many PP's will be represented. Since Pied Piper is sending TWO reps along on the cruise, it's a guess that the group is 40-60.
