I hope you will find a better TA moving forward.  I would not use Sabrina's help anymore.  I don't know who she is but from what you said, she does not seem to be a good TA.  I have cancelled my bookings for a week now and still have not yet getting the refund.  I will wait two more business days to call if it is still not showing up in my statement.

I cancelled on Thursday, August 5 around 2 PM EDT. The agent at Princess, Ann Marie, told me between 5-7 business days for cancellation to be processed (has to go to another department) and maybe 3-5 days beyond for the refund to appear against my credit card. Basically, she said to start looking for it around August 19th or 20th.

What I haven't seen addressed on the website or here..What if one gets Covid in late October or early November?  You have a mild case and feel better quickly or are asymptomatic....One can test positive for weeks after getting covid which is why you can't get retested within 90 days since its worthless.

This is on the Princess Cruise Health FAQs:  Exceptions may apply for asymptomatic guests that have tested positive for COVID-19 in the 90 days prior to embarkation, and are fully recovered. Guests will need to provide a letter of recovery from their doctor and, laboratory test results that are not older than 90 days.

I finally spoke to Sabrina at Princess. No refund for September 26/21 Majestic cruise. Penalty to cancel is $2135.
They have Not gotten any memo to say otherwise.

if you want to be on hold and listen to loud obnoxious music for over an hour call Sabrina.
    lost connection

We want to go on this cruise   it is just the mask wearing inside that I will have difficulty with, so to respect the rules and others I will enjoy the cruise from my balcony & cabin. Got drink package.

I'd call back and talk to someone else if I were you. I spoke to Ann Marie on August 5 at around 2 PM to cancel our September 26 sailing on the Majestic. She said due to the new mask/testing policy no fees were being assessed if cancelled before October 31 and we should look for a refund within 5-7 business days.

  4. Well, just canceled our Sep. 26 sailing to Alaska. Agent said we will receive a full cash refund within 5-7 business days, no fees assessed due to the new testing/mask requirement. And supposedly our Future Cruise Deposit will go back into our account for later use. Hated to have to do it but the cruise was to be the culmination of a 3 week road trip from West Virginia so it was a logistical nightmare trying to find a testing place along the road in the required time frame (believe me, I looked). Had they been testing at the port it wouldn't have been an issue for this fully vaccinated couple.

  5. Separate dining question: We are on the Adventure over Christmas (4 of us) and are currently signed up for Traditional dining, early seating. If we are running late (several late departure ports),  can we show up for MTD or is the Buffet our only other option. Sorry, but we’ve never done MTD before, so not sure how it works.

Hi I am doing a RCCL cruise over christmas and would like to do a kayak tour - can anyone recommend whether it is best to look for something in St Thomas or St Marteen.  Which ever island i do the kayak tour on the other island I plan to spend on the beach - so it may be a question of which is the best day to spend on the beach? Thank you Dawn

I can highly recommend the kayak/hike/snorkel tour on St. Thomas. We did this several years ago and it was my husband's favorite excursion ever. So much so, that we have booked it again (FYI, ship excursion) for our RCCL cruise over Christmas. The guides were awesome. We kayaked/snorkeled in St. Maarten shortly after the hurricanes and it was the worst experience. Partly due to the cloudiness of the water after the storms but also it was more of an open water kayak, rather than thru a mangrove area. If you choose to do a beach in St. Thomas, we like the beach over on Water Island. Catch the water taxi ($10 pp round trip) at Tickles Bar and Restaurant to the island.  There are 2 beach bars/restaurants on the beach but we always go the far end, Dinghy's. Chairs and umbrellas are free with the purchase of food or drink. Hope this is some help.

  7. Has anyone has ever done the Jungle Kayak Adventure excursion in Limon offered by Princess?  Wondering if we would essentially see the same wildlife as on the Tortuguero Canal excursion, but at a slower and less crowded pace. Can't quite tell exactly where the kayaking is taking place.

we totally did it on our own,had plenty of time. We do have a little Spanish speaking skills, but wow they are very pushy in English and Spanish. We told them right at the port -taxi only no tour- but in hopped a driver and tour guide .  It’s apparently approximately US$20 per taxi to go to the walled city and if you divide that by four people it’s five dollars each, but we only had two of us and honestly I don’t know how you would’ve fit four people into one of the taxis especially three adults in the backseat .I’m sure doable but I wouldn’t want to do it. So we paid the $20 to the driver and of course he wanted a tip we told him no because we told him several times no tour just drop us off. Once we got to the wall city there are people  everywhere trying to sell you something whether it be a Tour, whether it be a taxi right back ,whether it be products .they were in your face all the time. It was very difficult to look at the historic buildings and once you were able to do that another wave  would come along. We talked to people that were on a ship tour  & the same thing happened -so it really didn’t matter. We bargained for $15. US dollars Cab ride back to ship so a few dollars tip to him because he did as we asked no hassle. I’m glad we saw the city but just be aware they’re very pushy people - in Cartagena.

DH and I are going in December and were wondering if it is possible/doable to walk to/from the port to the walled city.  Is it safe, other than having to run the gauntlet of vendors?

Not really interested in any of the tours.

Just make sure you leave plenty of time to get back to your ship from Maho.

What do you consider plenty of time?  There will be a total of 4 ships in when we are there, about 13,000 people. I've read anywhere from 45 minute taxi ride back to 2 1/2 hours.

  10. Yay!! Finally got my cabin assignment for my Caribbean Princess cruise sailing 2 days from now. Nice little upgrade, I think. Booked a guaranteed BE balcony, assigned a B2 Premium balcony. Sailing with my soon to be 30-year-old daughter who has only sailed inside cabin. Happy birthday to her!!

  11. Interesting. This will be my third time on a Princess ship in the last two years and I've never received this type of email. Did it come from Princess or your travel agent?

I'm also on the Caribbean sailing on Saturday. Can't wait!!

  12. Don't know anything about the fire but they were pretty well destroyed by hurricane Maria. There's a video posted on their Facebook page. And I TOTALLY agree about the best rum punches in the Caribbean!

  13. Pretty bummed to find out NO wine package.

Really pushing the beverage packages. We only drink wine, and usually only at dinner, so beverage packages so don't seem like a deal.

Oh well. Wine by the bottle.

They don't offer a wine package, however you can now bring 2 bottles of wine per stateroom on board in your carry-on. No corkage fees any longer. Per RCCL FAQ's.

If you don't finish the bottle, they will store it for you for another night. Per the Royal Caribbean blog I googled and asked about wine. Hope this helps.
