    I completely disagree. Whether the whistleblower had an issue with his employer or not, the cruise line committed the offence and must be punished. His/her reward is well deserved, considering the risk of retaliation by the company.

  2. On our upcoming transatlantic on Sirena--our fourth with Oceania--we booked a guarantee PH3 because nothing else was available in that category. We would much rather have chosen a particular cabin, but didn't want to pay the difference to get a PH2 or PH1. Our rationale was that all the PHs are nice and we would be happy in any of them. So, wish us a good cabin!

  3. Sleeping with the balcony door open to hear the waves. Very romantic and relaxing.

     

    Funnily enough, I have never heard the waves from any balcony on a cruise. The sound I think of as crashing waves is the sound of breakers on a beach. If waves are high enough to break over your ship, you ought not to be on the balcony!
