I'm really hoping it's a temporary supply issue with strawberries or something. It was not like that until today. I'll keep on eye on it.

I've always eyed that tasty looking cheesecake at the coffee bar with the whole fresh strawberries on top. I finally tried a slice on my last cruise and looks like I did so just in time. The strawberries have been replaced with....strawberry jello? This was the best angle I could get without my reflection photo bombing the shot.

If it is larger than standard carry on, be prepared to stand your ground with port personnel. They will insist it is too large to fit and must be checked. As long as it fits, you are OK. They will try and tell you it is smaller than an airport scanner but I have not found that to be true in any port I have ever sailed out of. Politely inform them you will come back and check the bag if it does not fit and keep it moving 😀

It was so good. The best beef wellington I've ever had. That's too bad, it was hilarious and a rowdy good time.

That salad is the one I should have been doing the whole time! Grilled shrimp and corn, yes please. I've had the lasagna before. I like it and know what to expect. Be aware, it is made with shredded beef like every authentic lasagna nowhere. If your ok with that, it is quite tasty. Desserts were better today too. Now I'm enjoying a coffee. There is a light sprinkle but my swing bench is covered.

The skies looked threatening during my walk but never opened up on me. They have now.

After the salad fiasco yesterday I went with a tacoless taco salad today. Then I went tontje salad bar to fill it in a little since they seemed afraid to put anything in my bowl 😆 Lasagna from the pasta bar.

Got just over three miles in on the walking track. Off to grab some lunch now.

There is a good amount of cloud cover out keeping the temperature down. Pretty nice day out...would have been a good day for a walk around.

I've never been one to worry about "germy" things but I have always thought those things sitting out with everyone touching them was pretty gross but meanwhile buffet tongs get all the paranoia from the crowd that worries about such things.

They seem more durable than they used to be and much less slimy. I usually pack my own plastic straws but I forgot them this trip. I guess I am going to have to be the kind of person who keeps a packing list because I'm getting more and more forgetful these days.

I am amazed I was able to plate it at all. I was happy nobody had video of me struggling with the tongs. Thankfully, everyone at the buffet at 1230 in the morning is having the same motor function challenges 🤣 I did have enough sense of mind left to know to avoid the turkey sandwich since i knew it was most likely leftover from the deli amd their suspect cold case 😱 I might try to sneak a peak. I will also follow up on the salt and pepper situation. With an inspection yesterday, they should be on top of it, or maybe they just took all of them out of service like they did at the deli.

Good morning. I stayed out late enough I was mostly able to roll over and sleep through the crew drill alarms going off. I also seem to have somehow injured myself. My right arm is very sore and tender this morning. I don't know what that's about? Today we are back in Amber Cove and like last week, I don't think I will be getting off the ship. These cruise line developed port stops don't really interest me.

Man! I have really missed the piano bar experience. It really is a HUGE part of my nightly entertainment. I am so glad we have an entertainer again! I am wrapping up for the evening. Crew drills tomorrow, so my ability to sleep in will be decided based on what time those begin so I need to try and get some sleep. Thanks for following along, good night everyone.

Thank you and enjoy your cruise! Valor is the only ship in Conquest class I have not sailed, and I am eyeing it in 2025 to finally complete the class. Despite the struggles, Carnival does YTD better than any cruise line I have sailed by a very, very, very wide margin. The exception being NCL, which does not offer traditional dining so I can't really count them because they have eliminated choice.

Bad food choices happening

I agree. I think choice is good and I know a lot of people do like traditional dining but I think a lot of people also prefer the flexibility of no set dining time and they should adjust the seating based on the popularity of each dining time. Right now each choice has it's own dining room, and traditional has the larger room and I find it unlikely that is the majority choice. Far too many blue cards on Carnival for that to be the case.
