  1. Another day in the history books. Next up two days at sea on the way to Miami.
  2. I'm looking forward to trying out the freedom. It's one of two Conquest class I haven't been on yet.
  3. I'll be on both freedom transatlantics I think it would be a great choice. I did like cartagena too though. Maybe do both. Yes that's it, both 😁
  4. We've got a lot of distance to cover to get back to Miami in two days. Ship is sailing at 20.8 knots which has us rocking a little.
  5. For my starters I had the fried wild boar and crab melt brioche. The boar was just a tad salty bit still good. The brioche was fantastic. Yummy. For mains I had beef and broccoli and honey glazed pork loin. These were also good. The pork was a little hard to chew bit otherwise good. Dessert was the pineapple upside-down. This was s slice of warm dessert heaven.
  6. Tonight is the final new MDR menu and then it's back to the standard 8 rotating menus.
  7. And from the starboard side. Where the white buses are is the port shopping area and aviary. Very walkable.
  8. Yikes I really bombed on that trivia. We spent a little longer than usual in port admiring the wildlife so I missed all the trivia this morning. Made it back in plenty of time for lunch though 😋.
  9. Lots of pretty plant life. They even had a couple pigs. The birds were used to people. If you dared, you could even pick them up and hold them.
  10. Today was a good day. Slight change to the plans but only because I was told slightly wrong facts. The shuttle is not to downtown. It was to the port shopping area. It was complementary but not needed if you are mobile. It was about a three minute walk. The pier in amber cove is longer. I also wouldn't call it a zoo. It was an aviary but it was very fascinating. After my mom did her shopping for some souvenirs we walked through it. BTW, none of the aggressive vendors you have in downtown cartagena exist here. The salespeople were polite and helpful and in no way pushy. Very refreshing.
  11. Good morning. Today we are in cartagena which is my last new port for probably about a year when I do the freedom transatlantic. The plan today is to take the free shuttle to downtown and wander around a bit. I also heard there may be a free zoo nearby I'm hoping to be able to take a quick look at that.
  12. Time for bed. Tomorrow we reach the final stop on this leg of our journey- cartagena.
  13. Tonight's menu is my least favorite but I need to eat small tonight so it's for the best. For my starter I ordered the alligator beignets. I did not like that at all the first time I got it bit it was better this time although still not a favorite. Needs less breading. For my main I had lasagna bolognese. My mom's dinner- shrimp creole.
  14. Thanks for following along. I'll be starting my final leg when you join the ship. We've almost got her home now.
  15. Thanks 😁 😆 kinda like Nonnas meatballs that always comes with one delicious but solitary meatball.
  16. Got a little sleeping accomplished. Getting up now to see what's going on that I can get into.
  17. Finished out the crossing on the upper decks. Today was a great experience and I have way too many pictures to share hopefully tomorrow. I started making some progress and then the upload speeds tanked so will try to have those ready ASAP. I've been up for almost 12 hours so I'm going to try my best to get a nap in 💤😴.
  18. And the spirit is officially back in the Atlantic for its Caribbean season. Oops fake news. Ran into the onboard expert and used him to fact check. This is still considered mixed waters.
  19. Lunch menu. For my starter I got the calamari rings. For my main the salmon pillard. And for dessert I had the grand Marnier cheesecake and pina colada cake. Everything was good and it's gonna need to be a small dinner tonight 😋
