  1. No reservations available so I walked in and was told there was no room. I gave my best pretty please and he said he could squeeze me in but to be patient with service. So patient I will be, happy to get in and surprised 11 was too late to get a reservation for lunch yikes. The menu
  2. Nobody pilfered my stuff. In line for Giovanni's now
  3. Getting in a mile at the gym while I wait on lunch. I've left my stuff back at music hall I hope thar wasn't a stupid thing to do 😬
  4. You're welcome. I will have some food pics for Portside as the week goes on 😀
  5. My dinner reservation was causing a conflict. The system thinks dinner should take four hours, which would be a problem if it does. Line moved once additional crew showed up to help folks in line who just didn't know how to use the app. Booked for 1015 she strongly recommended against 8 even though I don't see why dinner will take even 90 minutes.
  6. Line for reservations is only moving when people abandon the non moving line. Kind of a bummer that dinner reservations at 6 lock me out of a show reservation at 1015.
  7. Not ideal but standard on mainstream cruiselines unfortunately. I could probably drop my bags in the room but that is frowned upon. Just a coincidence probably. They do a balloon drop the first night I admit I've never paid attention to the color before though.
  8. Took care of muster, made my dining reservations but now I can't make show reservations. Guess I will walk to the reservations desk. I really only care about Aqua80 but I do want to see it without standing in standby. Giovanni's opens at noon just gonna chill in music hall until then. Rooms open at 1.
  9. On at 1052...a bit blurry cause I was walking and clicking.
  10. Just show up. Follow the signage and you will be ok, lanes seen to go every which way and it is a bit confusing but the signs will yell you exactly which lane for Terminal B and which lane to be in for parking. Street view Follow the road towards A. You are walking against traffic. When you see the royal logo you are going the right way. There is no crosswalk when you reach Terminal A but there was no traffic to compete with. Total distance between terminals from the street level of parking garage. I think two pieces of luggage will still be manageable but will depend on your own stamina level. Maybe you could drop off your bags with a porter first and then park if you think checked bags will be too heavy.
  11. Through security at 1024 and waiting to board. My bag got flagged because of my fan but the secondary screener waved me Through without having to argue. He was less forgiving of the family ahead of me who had packed travel size bottles of Titos. The crowds look daunting but this terminal is set up to handle the largest cruise ships in the world so the lines move quickly.
  12. In line for boarding...doors have not opened yet at 1001..bit of a zoo out here but walk was easy.
  13. Made it to the parking garage. I'll take pictures at street level and see how far of a walk it is from Terminal B to A where Royal is docked.
  14. Walgreens run complete. Have to pass the candy aisle to reach oral care aisle that's just good planning Next stop...Miami. Uncle Google says 931 but I'm going to take the slow lane. Roar 🎶
  15. The only sunshine this morning is the liquid variety. One stop to make and hopefully the rain doesn't get worse, these south Florida drivers don't slow down just because there is zero visibility. I used to be young 🎶 (Me to Miley, me too)
  16. Good morning everyone. Cruise day has arrived! Moving slow at this early hour of the morning but I know I have something exciting waiting for me just a little bit south of me so I am wiping the sleep from my eyes, throwing together some last minute items and then I will me on my way to Miami to board Oasis of the Seas!!!!
  17. Pretty uneventful day, just the way I like it! The plan is to be on the road tomorrow around 8, no later than 8:30. Only a few things left to do in the morning and only one stop instead of two, I've already gassed up this evening so just need a quick Walgreen's run. I do need to remember to find a lanyard to pack, I forgot it last cruise and locked my card in the room plus having a lanyard makes it easier to save my seat when I have to take a potty break. As a solo I have nobody to save my seat! Good night everyone, next stop: CRUISE DAY!!!!
  18. Hello! So glad to see you came out of lurk mode 🙂 Agree Ft. Lauderdale was so much easier. I have not found a comparable service in Miami that provides service I would rank about one star. I will be sure to thoroughly document my parking experience tomorrow. Cost will still be $154 so not cheap by any means but a good savings over what Royal wants to park in their lot.
  19. I will post a current menu for you tomorrow, I wish I had an old copy to see how far all the prices have gone up but it is quite a bit more expensive than it used to be. I'll also check on the future of Portside, it's not been added to any other ship so I don't think it's a big revenue source even at the current prices. Too bad as it is really good food and seems busy every time I've been. Hopefully it will survive.
  20. Yep, and meanwhile the UDP has also gone up in price but the value is far less than it used to be. I'm at least insulated from the high booking costs since the casino comps me, but the onboard extras are getting harder and harder to justify. Looks like all the cool kids will be on next week! I would definitely follow along if you did a live! Will come in handy when I'm having cruise withdrawals.
