Here's the Carnival Pride and the Queen Mary docked in Long Beach. Unfortunately the photos were taken through a tinted window and there was some vibration, but I thought I'd post them anyway.
Taken about 6:45 a.m.
Taken about 7:30 a.m.
Taken through the mirror in our hotel room:
Fred, I'm loving the Rush Hour photo! Nice!

my son had finally worn down! after all the late nights. this was while we were waiting to leave the ship:p
lol...cute. I have a couple photos of my DD like that. One curled up under a towel asleep by the pool one morning and one at the airport waiting to go home.

MC, wow! You need to stop lurking and post some more of your favorites! Please?

sau3734, Don't upgrade unless they're going to give you a balcony. That's my advice anyway. lol This cabin is excellent. Two big windows and a lot of floor space. You'll be close to the aft stairs and elevators and, at least on our cruise, they weren't usually busy.

jamon, it's nothing great...but here it is:

If you want to look at my other videos on there, you can see a dancing waiter at sailaway, the dancing waiters/waitresses on our last night and a couple videos from Jamaica/Margaritaville. All those videos were taken on the Triumph cruise this past January.

jamon, we used the upper and lowers since it was my DD and I. My DD attempted sleeping on the couch one night, but found it too uncomfortable.
I'm not sure if they'd put a foldaway bed in there or not. I'm guessing they wouldn't...but if you had a very nice cabin steward maybe??? Hopefully someone else can answer that for you.
I have a short (42 second) video clip that shows a small part of the cabin and the windows...as well as the view from the cabin, if you'd like to see it.

jamon, I'm not cruzman but I just stayed in that same cabin in January. There are 3 large drawers under the tv and there are two shelves behind the two 'cabinet' type doors on the left side under the mirror.
We kept our luggage in the closet under the safe. There was enough room to keep two medium sized rolling suitcases, one rolling duffel and the two life jackets. We kept our clothes hung in the two other closets and we each put our carry on luggage, and all our shoes, on the bottom of those closets. There are shelves in the top of the closets as well.
In the bathroom there is a mirrored vanity that had 3 shelves in it. There are little bars to keep things in, in case things move during the cruise. They won't fall out and break on the counter.
rlkubi, we felt quite a bit of movement on our cruise. We had rough waters though, so I can't say that's the norm. We weren't able to stop in Grand Cayman. We felt a lot of vibration pulling into ports and there was some loud noises and shuddering occasionally. Personally, I didn't mind it and would book that cabin again in a heartbeat. The noises, vibrations and movement just reminded me that I was on a cruise and not home cleaning, cooking, etc. ;)
If you can get this cabin, I'd say go for it!

We stayed in this same cabin in January....and we too loved it! Thanks for sharing the pics, brought back fun memories! :)

Now I can see them! Thanks! :)

Sabast1, I'm not able to see any of your photos when I click the links. I can see other people's, so I know my computer isn't acting up. If it is me though, my apologies. I just thought I'd let you know, in case it's on your end.
janabug, adorable!

Larry, thanks for sharing those with us! Your pictures of Jamaica show exactly why I love going there.....it's so green and lush! Such a beautiful place. Living in AZ, we don't see much green! ;) You captured the falls very well. Definitely climb them next time, it's a fun experience!
Hope you enjoyed the Triumph....I think she's a great ship!

Oh! Come with us! I'm going to email you! :)

Thanks pierces & gumballz!
To be honest, I wish I had noticed the reflection when I was taking the picture instead of after I got home :o then I would have tried to get more of it in the picture!
I don't know, I like how natural it looks. Had you tried it might have ended up looking to 'fixed'. I say it's perfect how it is! :)
When is your next cruise?

I finally have a real cruise picture to contribute! I really like this one I took in Costa Maya of the Miracle :D
congratulations for having a great shot to share! This may sound dumb, but I really like how the colors of the Hobie reflect in the water. And, that slide on the back of the Miracle! It looks like you'd slide right off the back of the ship! :)

Can anyone see this picture. I think I must have some gremlins running loose here, I cannot see any pictures.
Very nice!

Thanks everyone for sharing your beautiful pictures. My fiance and I are going on our first cruise and we can't wait. I hope our pics turn out as great as yours.
Yours will be great because YOU were there and YOU took them! Don't be shy to take a lot of photos.....you'll cherish them later! :) Have fun!

No more discipline problems on the Mercury!
Dave
lol....clever! ;)

Thanks thoneycu! Key West is an amazing place with such diversity. You can easily spend a day there and not see/experience it all.

thoneycu, thank you for the links! I appreciate that!

Jules7226, thank you for all the information. I'm just going to keep my eye on airfare and go from there. :)
-
KcFanNindy, you have been so helpful to sooooo many of us that I would just ignore Gumballz! :p I'm sure that I'm not alone out there!:)
Nice........
Anyway, you didn't upset me at all. I was just clearing things up.

Which airport are you looking at flying into? Hobby (HOU) is much closer to Galveston than Geo. Bush Intl. (IAH) I don't have personal experience with the cost of transfers from either airport, but I have read on these boards of one way car rentals from Hobby for less than $20.
We don't have a preference as to which airport, but we'll probably fly into Hobby. Do you know if there's a dropoff for the car at the port? I'll run a search as well, so if you don't know that answer that's ok. Thank you for your help.

KcFanNindy, actually we're well over a year away from that particular cruise so there would be no penalties for cancelling at this point. As my post stated, we wouldn't be sailing until April of 2008. :)
As for saying this should have been 'well planned out before booking our cruise'......it was. We weighed the costs of airfare and transportation before booking. We've cruised out of Miami 3 times and the cost from the airport to the port is under $30 with tip. From what I'm reading on the boards, the cost from the airport to the Galveston port can run us upwards of $70.
I've been watching airfare to both locations (Texas and Florida) and it appears as though the price is comparable to fly to both at this time. When we booked, airfare to Texas was cheaper. So, as you can see we did 'plan it out' when we booked.
If anyone has an answer for me, I'd appreciate it. I'm not new to cruising, so I don't really need to be given a lecture. I'm just looking for some advice as to the cost of transportation between airport and port.
:D Thanks!

I have the Conquest booked for April 6, 2008. Airfare from Phoenix is pretty cheap but after reading about the distance between the airport and port, we're wondering if it wouldn't be more reasonble to just cruise out of Florida.
Can someone please give me some kind of approximate breakdown on what costs I'm looking at as far as transfers & hotels go? I need to decide if I'm going to keep this cruise or change it to one out of Florida instead. I'd appreciate it!
Thanks! :)
