  1. Hi,

I was recently at a wedding that served really delicious non-alcoholic mocktails. The Mojito was so refreshing and delicious. I no longer drink alcohol, but every once in awhile I would like a beverage other than club soda on my cruises. Yep, I've ordered the virgin slushy drinks, really too sweet for my taste.

Has anyone had a truly tasty mocktail from the Alchemy Bar?

    Thanks,

    :D Bobbi

Your best bet with the Alchemy is to talk to them and let them know the types of drinks you like and let them concoct something for you. They all enjoy the art of it. Yes they are tasty.

  2. I've searched and can't find: Bottled sparkling/mineral water at dinner? (like Pellegrino or Perrier). Is this included in Cheers? And can someone who has gone to the bar at the steakhouse for a glass of wine (without having dinner there) chime in on what's actually available there? I've previously found the wine list at Carnival mostly lacking - read: inexpensive. If I can get more moderate wines, I'm likely to get the Cheers package. Although not a 15/day drinker, the thought of not thinking about that sail and sign bill on the final day is appealing.

The Pellagrino and Perrier are covered in the large format but only in the dining establishments on the ship (ie: main dining room, steakhouse, and the cuchina). They are not available in the lido dinning area or any of the bars. As far as the wines at the steakhouse, while there are better and moderately more expensive glasses of wine there is nothing available by the glass that are more than about $20 per glass. If you talk to the bartender they may have something that they can offer that isn't on the list. I hope this helps a little.

  3. Just returned from cruise on the Pride and really love the spirit class ships. The Pride is beautiful!! We did experience the vibration off and on for most of the cruise. Tampa is getting the Miracle next year and since it is the same class ship was just wondering if anyone had experienced the vibration on that ship as well.

Yes the Miracle has a vibration. I didn't think it was bad, however, it is noticeable, more toward the back of the ship.

  4. Now you can skip the long line at the guest services desk and use the kiosk. We go to the kiosk every couple of days and up the spending limit on our teens accounts. They can only spend up to the limit you specify. We do a $50 limit the first day, $100 limit the 3rd day, etc. It all comes straight from your sign & sail account. And if you do the hub app (for $5 a week) you can go online and check your account balance on your phone. :)

The only time that you will get charged for the HUB app is if you use the chat feature. If you do use the chat feature then yes it is $5 for the entirety of the cruise. You can access the S&S account, Fun Times and all of the other features for free.

  5. We are taking our 10y/o and 2y/o on their first Cruise in May. I was curious how your experience was with the Kid Camps and Night Owls. I understand that the Night Owls is at an hourly rate, do you know what the rate is?

I can't help with the 2 year old, however, the 10 year old should have a blast. Night Owls is $6.75 per child per hour plus a 15% gratuity so $7.76 per hour. Depending on how long your cruise is there will be a few late night parties. On the party night it is a set rate for 1 hour or until close that is $15 per child plus 15% gratuity or $17.25 for the party. These were the rates on our cruise in October.

  6. $6.75 per hour unless there's a special theme party. Then it more. $15an hour. Of course, gratuity is added at 15%. Great program. My kids love it.

Minor clarification it is usually $15 for a party plus 15% gratuity it is not a per hour charge on party nights. And yes it is per child.

  7. What is the most expensive drink you've ordered on a carnival cruise?

Does anyone know what the most expensive cocktail is available under the Cheers program? I see it says up to $50 but I've never seen a qualifying drink over abut $12

If the ship you are on has an Alchemy Bar go there and ask for a Grey Goose VX Martini. On the Miracle Jason made it perfectly. It is stirred not shaken and an orange peel corkscrew is cut allowing the essential oils spray into the very cold Grey Goose VX. It was $18 per martini. If you don't like martinis there are other concoctions that can be made with top liquor that will be very good.:D

  8. I love to people watch! [emoji102][emoji16] I don't know that's it's the weirdest, but my first cruise had a couple who wore their robes everywhere - day and night. I still wonder if their luggage had been lost or what lol Forums

Woman in her bra and panties at the pool.

I saw both of these on my last cruise. The couple in the robes I believe were only wearing the robe and nothing else. They even became the butt of many of the CD's jokes because they would always sit front row. At the hot tub after dark there were several women that only had bra and panties on and I overheard one of them answer that they forgot to pack a suit. When they would show up everyone else would leave.

  9. How early can I book this? Does anyone know the price.. I have seen a couple of pictures and I think my 7-year old twin nieces will love it!!

    TIA :D

As soon as you board you can go to Guest Services and book the breakfast. It is well worth the $5 per person at least once. We did it with our 9 year old daughter last year. This year she didn't want to do it. Do sign up early as sometimes they can sell out. It is usually held the last sea day and it is a party so bring your camera.

  10. Is this shower free to use or do you have to be getting a treatment? Also, do you know if the sauna/steam are no charge on Miracle?

This shower on the Miracle is not only free whether or not you are getting a spa treatment it is awesome. I used it several weeks ago on my cruise and then I went daily for my shower there rather than use the cabin shower.

  11. How will FTTf work withthe new sign & Sail procedure on the Splendor. PReviously they put the FTTF sticker on your card. How do they know you are FTTF and get priority boarding?

While I agree with your concern it is clearly marked on the boarding pass and on the luggage tags. I plan to keep hold of a copy of my luggage tag and boarding pass as well just to be safe.

  12. oh boy I'm confused..ok so son and I have Samsung phones I do have the app on my phone...but can my kids take their ipods and use those? That would be awesome! Would they still be able to do FB on the ipods? Sorry for the questions..I'm totally not tech savvy...;)

Yes they can use their ipod and use the app including the messaging feature. The messaging feature will cost $5 per device for the length of the cruise. So your phone plus your son's ipod would be $10 to use the messaging feature for the length of the cruise. (flat rate)

In order to use facebook you would need to purchase one of the WiFi data packages. The social media package is $5 per day or it is discounted if you purchase for the entire cruise.

    I hope this helps

  13. Can you use it on an iPad? We only have one 'smart' phone [emoji846]

You should be able to use it in an ipad yes. Our daughter only has an ipod touch and it worked fine for her. We enjoyed using the messaging feature so we could keep in touch with our family. Our son was able to add the friends that he met while on board to the messaging as well so if you are going with a group that isn't linked you can still add them. The cost for messaging is currently $5 per device for the length of the cruise. Keep in mind that the ship's WiFi is better in some areas of the ship than others. A few times messages would fail to reach their intended recipient but most of the time it worked just fine.

I loved using the App. I was able to see my families sail and sign account for all users since I was the responsible party. Everyone else is only able to see their individual account.

I liked having the Fun Times schedule on my phone. You can go through the schedule each day and mark your favorite activities and you will receive a reminder for it before it starts.

There is still a lot that could be added to the functionality, however, it is nice to have.Just make sure that you put your phones in airplane mode and turn your WiFi on otherwise when you leave port you will connect automatically to Cellular at Sea and depending on who your carrier is the charges can be very costly.

  14. I completed the on line check in and viewed my boarding pass. It says under embarkation. 12:30pm to 3:00 pm. Is that my boarding time?

    Thanks :)

Keep an eye on any email that you receive from Carnival though. When they switched over to staggered check in in Long Beach it started the day that I returned from my last cruise. However, I did receive an email when the decision was made to use staggered check in LGB and immediately went to my Cruise Manager to be sure there was nothing that I needed to do. ( I read my emails from Carnival and don't assume they are all solicitations) Carnival does and will communicate any changes with you like this before your cruise AS LONG AS YOU CHECK AND READ YOUR EMAIL. (yes I did that for emphasis)

I'm sorry to say that the OP probably doesn't read their email when they get it otherwise they would have known that there were changes coming in the check in process and made a decision early enough to get what they feel is a better check in time.

  15. We are just off the 10/9 Conquest sailing. We purchased the Cheers package for the cruise. I tried to order a drink from the tequila bar that was made with cheap tequila and asked for it to be made with patron instead. I was told by the bartender that this couldn't be done. I was under the impression that you could have a drink made with an upgraded liquor. Am I wrong? Thanks!

I can't answer for the tequila bar on the Conquest, however, I was recently on the Miracle and I did have the Cheers plan. I drank a lot of Margaritas and each and every one of them was upgraded to the Patron Silver. Some I watched them pour others I had the poolside servers bring me.

  16. Aren't the menus for the whole cruise on the TV from the get go?

Sent from my SM-G920V using Forums mobile app

Is this true? I get on Saturday so I will be looking for this. I hope that it is there.

If so I have missed this. I do know that you can go to GS and see the menu in advance.

  17. Yes, th app is up and running. We have been using the chat function to touch base with members of our group. Cool app...

    Thank you for this update.

How well does the chat function work? Do you get a tone from your phone when a new message comes in? Do you know if it will work on an ipod?

A lot of questions I know and I'm sorry but we leave this Saturday when you are getting off so I am just curious and our youngest does not have a phone.

  18. My family goes in 40 days!! Woot! I saw on Carnivals site that the on board HUB app was scheduled to launch today on the Miracle. Can anyone on board tell me if this has happened? Happy cruising and enjoy your vacation!

Looking forward to the answer to this as I board on Saturday and I am looking forward to using the HUB app.

  19. How much should the gratuity be if I don't get the package?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

15% gratuity will automatically be added to your drink order, however, if you get great service you can always add more. Adding a little extra goes a long way.

Even if you do get the Cheers program you can add more to the gratuity. Again a little extra goes a long way.

  20. Hi I last cruised in 2013, and I was curious if Cheers had changed at all since then.

(It looks like it has - it's cheaper to buy in advance...)

However, at that time, you could purchase the package on Day 2 of your week-long cruise.

    Is this still the case?

Yes. On board you can still purchase the package on day 2 but it will cost you more, almost enough more to warrant pre-purchasing it and having it on day 1. It is $49.95 + 15% or $54.95 + 15% on board. It would cost you approximately $20 more to pre-purchase the package for 7 days with the gratuity. 7 days pre-purchased with 15% gratuity= $402.10 6 days on board $54.95 with 15% gratuity=$379.16 so a difference of $22.94
