I started a thread for our Seabourn cruise last year and eventually grew to 12 couples. We planned several private tours, not all of us together the same at any time. One person had Seabourn arrange a meet and greet for us. It was a great group and we are still in touch with most. I just started a roll call for our cruise this November but nobody else joined yet.

I was on the Odyssey in January this year, and today I board the Encore, so shortly I will be in a position to compare both ships in relatively short succession. I have been on all the O class ships but came to the Seabourn party a little late, and didn't get to experience the little sisters. I have been on the Odyssey twice and didn't notice any deterioration this year, compared to our first cruise on her a few years ago.

 

 

 

When I get the chance, I will come back and post here. Having said that, there are some excellent reviews already on cruise critic from Seabourn regulars, so I may not have anything new to add! I may also fall victim to the Seabourn lifestyle and can't promise a speedy response.....................................

Many other well established cruise lines don't restrict ta discounts. Our ta gives 10-15% on almost every other river and ocean cruises.

When we booked this promo it was $500 per person less than booking a V1 and selecting our suite. Well worth it to us!

We have a GTY upgrade on Encore from V1 to V4 which looks to be forward on deck 8 or 9. I can't tell what's above this area on deck 10. Any feedback on this location?

We were on Viking sea with heather this past September. A wonderful cruise and she is terrific. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and made lasting friends.

Viking did not have an itinerary that we liked for 2017 in September so we booked seabourn encore. 1st time seabourn. The tone and sniping on the seabourn boards has me very concerned if we made a wrong decision. Fortunately we don't have to make final payment and deposit if fully refundable till June.

We're new to seabourn. Do their other ships have self serve laundry facilities? We were on Viking sea last Year and they had one on every floor. Very convenient.

Thanks for all the photos and feedback. When I booked our cruise on Encore I was told by seabourn that the retreat Area chaises are is open to anyone and that only the cabanas are at a cost. I asked about this specifically. Is this incorrect?

We're one of the couples Jill in the last post connected with and can attest to a great tour and time meeting new people.

We also connected with two other couples for a private full day tour in Athens with George's taxi. Had a luxury van with room to spread out. A fabulous tour guide that was also a museum curator.

On our recent cruise men with jackets were very much in the minority but frankly nobody cared what anyone else was wearing. It was a very relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere.

We are seriously considering booking for next September on their new ship Encore with the guarantee of V1 to V4 to get intro price savings if $500 pp.

with no reviews hard to know if there are really awful suites.

All V4 are forward locations on deck 8 or 9 while V1 are forward on deck 5 and V2 are forward to mid in deck 5.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

Viking can do that when you board not sure if before. However we really preferred the world cafe too. Awesome sushi bar plus seafood and entrees in mdr offered in addition and then great gelato bar!
