  1. Well I just checked and although the OBC is from the TA its states below the line it cannot be used for onboard service charges......

I have had TAs say this before but it does not necessarily mean this is the case. Ask the TA to provide you an amenity confirmation from NCL, or you can call NCL and ask for this confirmation. It will clearly state refundable or non refundable OBC on the amenity confirmation.

Typically TAs will buy the OBC close to the sailing date, so it may note be on the confirmation yet... The amenity confirmation or what you receive on board is the only way to know for sure if you can use the OBC for gratuities.

  2. Anybody know if Amex Cruise Privileges OBC can be applied to DSC? Thanks.

American Express OBC is non-refundable. It cannot be used for gratuities. If you go to Amex's Cruise Privilege site, you will see the terms at the bottom that state:

"Credits cannot be used for casino charges and gratuities. Unused portion of credit is non-refundable and is not redeemable for cash."

If you have you or your TA call NCL and get an Amenity Confirmation, it will list the amount of OBC provided and state non-refundable.

  3. They both will fit in the 2nd bedroom. The bed is definitely not as comfortable as a king bed in the H5 penthouse. (The room steward can bring an eggshell to make the bed a little more comfortable but still not the same as a King bed). If you are wanting to save a bit of money and the couple is okay with it, go with the H4.

If you are going for comfort, choose the two penthouses. If you go that route, you will give up the true table in the living room (if that matters at all).
