  1. This is the email I received. I would try calling and be ready to be on hold for 45 minutes, they are extremely busy. I also never had any luck with his five digit extension or email. I just went through the whole menu process. Once you call you will get the idea.

As discussed, this e-mail is to confirm your On Us Drink Card for your upcoming voyage on ************. We look forward to welcoming you on board!

You can also try dealing directly with Carnivals Players Club. Quite honestly they seem to be a little more flexible.

    Thank you so much!

  2. It is sold as an excursion from the home port. You should be able to purchase it on the Carnival website if it's available for your cruise. They only release fifteen at a time (so it's kind of like getting concert tickets; you have to act fast) and I think the maximum per cruise is usually thirty slots. Check the website frequently. Even if it's listed as Sold Out sometimes people cancel and a slot opens. If it's not listed as Sold Out then it hasn't opened for your cruise yet and some diligence on your part will get one.

Ok I found it thank you! I purchased it & I'm so excited!

  3. My wife and I are pretty much in the same boat as you (pun Intended) when it comes to style of play. We always play Blackjack together and we usually blow through roughly 2k a trip.

I have found that when playing the table games your rating is much enhanced by establishing a rapport with the pit critters and casino host right off the bat. As a matter of fact I would seek out the casino host the first night and see if you have any casino cash coming. I went to our host as soon as I entered the casino, advised her I was on a free cruise and asked if she had a drink card for us. She looked it up and said no drink card but I do have $100.00 in casino cash for you. Which btw was paid in cash. I should have had a drink card but she had no record of it, consequently I will always bring an email with me either from Michael at the Ocean Players Club or Martin at Carnivals Players Club.

Soon there after we received several comped drinks and then on the third night I was given a drink card but my wife never did receive one. Strange since we always bet alike and sit side by side.

I have found that it never hurts to ask. Be polite and nice and all they can say is no. If you are like us that drink card is worth at least $300.00 and I make it clear I want one ASAP.

I know this post is getting long but IMHO at our level of play you always want one person buying in and cashing out. The reason for this is because I have been told by Michael at the Ocean Players Club that if you lose $1500.00 or more on a trip you will be awarded a free inside cabin for two on your next trip. I have now been given my last two cruises for free and the upgrades are super cheap (upgraded to a balcony for $200.00 each).

Also if you are given a free cruise you will be given a drink card on your first night, just be sure to get it in writing and bring it with you.

Thank you this is great information. I guess I need to figure out how to contact Michael at the Ocean Players Club then.

  4. Do you play tables or slots? Slots would get you free drinks much quicker than tables. I spend a lot less $ than you on slots, play <$1.00 a spin and get free drinks on RCI and a very generous cash back, anywhere from $500-$1000 each sailing. The key here is the amount of time you spend gambling and it doesn't matter whether you win or lose. Since I belong to RCI's VIP club, I am given drinks coupons upon entry to their casino by the casino host.

Let's say you lost approx $300 a day for a 7 night sailing and only spent an hour or less a day in the casino. Don't see you getting much at all. Now if you spent 3-4 hours a day/night gambling, then you would be getting more perks. If you play table games, they want you spending $50 per hand for a few hours. I have seen people betting $25 a hand and getting free drinks, but they are gambling for many hours each day.

What cruise line were you on? Others can assist you with their experience on that particular cruise line.

Oh ok. I cruise on Carnival. Hubby and I play table games and both usually play $10-$20 per hand. We also got markers so you would think our play was noticed. Very odd that we've not received anything.

  5. So how much do you spend to get this "drinks on us" perk? Do you have to ask for it or how does it happen? We spent about $2000 in the casino last cruise but nothing.

  6. I know the last Elation sailing is on Sept. 20 and she goes into Dry Dock after her return on Sept. 25.

I am hoping she will have various upgrades to match other ships in the Fantasy class.

But I do not know for a fact any specifics. I understand from reading so many negative reviews, she is in bad need of some upgrading/facelifts!

I booked a last minute cruise on her next week - July 12th and now am dreading see the ship! Hoping to have fun on her anyway:)

I hope so too! Enjoy your cruise. Even if she needs upgrades you will still be on a cruise so I'm jealous! :p

  7. So it's been a couple of years since we sailed & we although we have our passports our friends do not. What EXACTLY will they need for identification for both them & their children?

Also, what's the rumors with Elation 2.0? When is this supposed to happen & what type of changes can we expect?

    Thanks everyone! :D:D

    Awesome! Thank you so much!

  9. If you're a beer drinker, order Fosters with it. That us a huge huge can, covered on the card as a drink. Best bang for your buck for beer?,:)

Ahhh...ok then. I am a beer drinker (among other drinks) but never had Fosters. I guess I should give that a try. Thank you :)
