  1. I broke my elbow really bad back on 5/4, had surgery on 5/9. I am on the 5/15 Freedom sailing for 7 nights. How helpful are people with helping me board since I will have only one good arm? Will I need to bring my own bags for icing it down? Am I SOL with help at breakfast if I do Windjammer instead of MDR? My hubs will be with me but he can only carry so much.

  2. I'm certainly not suggesting that this would be of any interest to you but we still chuckle over how easily entertained we are. A few weeks ago we were on the Celebrity Summit but really bummed that our cabin faced the working loading dock vs the bay. We got back on board around 1:30 and sat they mesmerized watching the unloading to two cargo ships. We even went up to the buffet and instead of eating facing the bay we rushed over to the "ugly" side to see what we had missed. I remember at one time I even yelled to my husband to hurry up, he was about to miss the unloading of a particular crate.

You might be surprised at how little it will take to entertain you while on board.

    I love this!!!!

  3. I have seen a lot of ship cruise compasses offering advanced ice skating towards the end of the cruise for people that have their own skates. As my name implies, I am a figure skater and planning on taking my skates for some practice time so I can avoid skating like crap upon my return. It seems to be mornings. Does anyone know if it gets crowded? I'd like to work on some of my more difficult jumps and spins without killing someone. I'm not a beginner so my double jumps could possibly hurt me or someone else if it's crowded and someone gets in my way. There is no way I'd skate with general group, too dangerous.

  4. Here's something odd I was just thinking about. I am going to be on Freedom May 15 sailing. When I booked our drink packages, we got the Premium for $809.48 (includes gratuity) for two people back in February. I had no issue paying that price since we drink a lot. Then it goes on sale and I immediately cancel and rebook for $621.16 (again includes gratuities) for two people. Yay, great, go me. Two days later, same sale but price is slightly higher at $644.28 for two people plus gratuities. Sure, ok that makes sense (insert sarcasm here). I got the better deal by being OCD about this stuff. YAY! Then I see different prices for different cruises and the prices are outrageous. Seems to me there is no reasoning behind all this. Like they're all like "let's roll the dice today to see what to charge".

Just my random odd ball opinion.

  5. I know I have planned to get off in St. Maarten to get some booze but otherwise, nothing else planned. My husband doesn't care to get off the boat either. We might change our minds but was curious how dead the ship was in the ports. Not sure what we are going to do but him not having a job is crappy. I am taking advantage of the Voom sale so he can job hunt at night and apply to stuff.

    Thanks y'all!

  6. We are on the FOS for the May 15 sailing. My husband is out of a job so we can't really afford to do excursions. We had everything booked/paid last year before the job loss, including parking, hotel, food, gas, etc. Has anyone ever just stayed on the boat and not done anything in the ports of call? Is it dead on the ship? We were thinking just hang out by the pool, work out, drink, eat, relax, etc. What was it like if anyone else has done this?
