We found the interior of Anthem to be quite warm. We had a ton of long sleeved clothing we never wore. Could have left half our clothes at home! :) (And this was on the TA, where the outdoor temps were quite chilly.)
Interesting. We're on the first Caribbean run next week and we'll see if that changes as the temperatures outside heat up (I hope it does!).

Great shots Dave, thanks. That sky looks spooky.
And enjoy your trip in a few days.
Thanks! That sky really was something else... Glad the pictures came out at all.

I caught a few photos of her leaving this evening from my roof here in Brooklyn. Quite a distance away, but I was excited to see that I caught the fire boats shooting up jets of water!

Bon voyage Chris!

So let me add another comment to my post above. Today we returned to American Icon for lunch just to have the tutti salad. The menu listed clam chowder, so we decided to try that too. We were served bowls containing an unappealing gelatinous mass that tasted horribly fishy, not like clam chowder at all. If RCI is going to have classic American dishes on a ship sailing out of New Jersey, they really need some chefs who know how to cook the food.
Sounds reasonable to me. The omelette thing in your previous post is just odd -- I've never seen that before on any cruise in any location.
We're on the first revenue sailing out of Bayonne so we'll see if there are any changes made right away.

Safe travels Chris, looking forward to following along!

Ken just posted on Twitter that he is aboard Anthem for the transatlantic, and then will take over as CD once the ship reaches America.
My estimate is that he will be Anthem's CD until sometime in January.
Thanks for the info Donna. Guess we'll have Ken for the first Caribbean sailing out of Bayonne on November 10!

Thanks for the awesome live review! Have a great cruise.

Agree with both of you... Have no idea why this subforum still exists.

Enjoying the review! Thanks Derek.

Thanks for another great review Radio!

I guess time will tell. FDR said he was going to change things. Maybe this will be a nice surprise.
Haha, while hope springs eternal, who would pay to eat at their numerous specialty dining venues if they were serving such incredible food for no additional cost at the buffet? :p I know I wouldn't!

If I think my opinions are sufficiently important, I may post them more than twice.
And you've now made two postings that add absolutely nothing to the discussion, which, by the way, is of Ken Rush. Thanks for your contribution.

..................I'm SO glad I am not cruising on the Quantum..........
That post was from January, so even if you were you'd still be safe lol :p

That seems to be a consensus of people who have talked one one one with him. In 11 cruises, I have only spoken one on one with Casey Pelter and thought he was really personable.(and a good CD)
However, I found Ken to be very good at his job and always having useful information. The only one on one conversation I had with him was at the Captain's Corner in a professional setting. From my point of Vew, he was a good host, ran a good Quest, so I would cruise with him any time.
Agree 100%. Regardless of whether I'd like to sit down and have a beer with him (probably not), I'd be more than happy to have him as CD on any of my upcoming cruises.

I would almost consider skipping the entre and asking for 2-3 of these!
Agreed! The pepper bacon appetizer was great. The only better one I've had was at Peter Luger's here in NYC, which is by far the best.

They talk about where the night club is going to be located on the new Norwegian video on their youtube channel.
And? What did they say?

I think its pretty hilarious that the majority opinion is that their Italian venue serves a MUCH better steak for less money than their signature steakhouse does lol.
*shhhhh* now they're going to reduce the quality and increase the price for Giovanni's too! :p
I'm hoping RCI gets the message and restores the quality of the old Chops. I'm willing to pay the new (higher) price if the quality justifies it... And I suspect I'm not the only one.
-
All I can come up with is that all the major decisions are being done by bean counters.
I think that's the bottom line. I understand that economics sometimes dictate the need to either increase prices OR reduce quality... But RCI seems to have attempted to do both. That isn't a winning combination.

We also ate our last meal in Chops our last time on Oasis. The appetizers were enjoyable but the rest of the experience was mediocre and definitely not worth the price. I cancelled my Chops reservation for our upcoming Anthem cruise when we got home from Oasis.
To end on a positive note, we loved Sabor! Great new addition.

Only cabins I recall seeing a full length curtain are on are the Radiance Class ships. I recall a very short curtain on the Voyager Class ships. I've never sailed on the Vision class, so I can't speak for that. FWIW, I agree with you that it is a nice feature.

I'm curious if Charmaine helped you and your group. I recently sailed with her and would say, before I sail another RCI sailing, I want to make sure she isn't even anywhere on the ship. My first interaction with her years ago was bad and then to have to sail with her again and witness her behavior...., I now know she's just odd. I'm glad the CL had cameras. I had top management contact me and apologize profusely for her behavior and actions.I agree that Charmaine was the worst concierge we have ever encountered on a Royal ship. We met her on the Oasis several years ago, and she was rude, discourteous, and downright unfriendly. It was the first and only time I have ever written a negative review of a Royal employee, but her behavior in the CL deserved a response. Surprised that she is still with the fleet. Maybe she has had an "attitude adjustment".
Our experience with her on Oasis was also negative. Disappointed to hear she's still in this position. Only concierge I've ever had anything negative to say about!

Thanks again, I emailed her yesterday and received a confirmation early this morning!

Try dsharpe@carambolabeachclub.com . It's who we've used to reserve chair and umbrellas in the past. She's pretty quick to reply..if it's more then two or three days, just shoot her a reminder email. Her name is Daislyn Sharpe.
I'll give it a try, thanks!
The fantastic gift RCI gave everyone on board Anthem's inaugural transatlantic

Hilarious! Thanks for sharing. The fact that it was printed on regular photo copy paper is the real kicker LOL.
