  1. I hope not because I couldn't care less about a seeing a singer or major entertainer. I wouldn't walk across the street to see 99% of "popular entertainers". Never was one to care about that stuff. But I am sure other's are but I hope it's something different.

I couldn't agree more. Im on a cruise for the ports and somewhat the ship but if i want a concert i will see it on land!

  2. I wondered if anyone else caught on that it was the Disney Dream! I know the feeling of tailing this fleet. We were practically port by port with DCL Fantasy on CCL Dream and practically drooled over it. For some reason, it seemed SO MUCH BIGGER than the CCL Dream, not sure why? They are both pretty big. Well anyway we got set foot on that DCL Dream beauty about 5 weeks after the CCL Dream! It definitely and totally lives up to its reputation for us! First DCl and definitely not the last. And speaking of DCL Magic, with all her new 'work' with refitting multimillion $$ dry dock, she is looking QUITE nice and we can't wait to be sailing her in May!

Does Disney have casinos? My wife likes casinos!

  3. Chris (or others),

I know the US dollar is accepted everywhere in Progreso, but what about in Merida? I'm planning to go there in December and do some shopping and have lunch, but didn't know if I should come equipped with pesos, if nothing else to make transactions easier (only Spanish I know will get me a beer and a bathroom, that's about it).

Also, any tips on safe/good places for lunch in the main areas are welcomed! I'll be travelling alone so I probably won't go too far off the beaten path. Is much/any English spoken in Merida?

    Thanks for any tips!

They love getting our dollar....the problem is sometimes if you don't have exact amount you will get your change back in Mexican Peso's. Merida took my American dollars.

  4. Hi Chris......reporting back as i stated i would.....Autoprogreso Tour to Xcambo Ruins and Technotel was great.......they even stopped at Technotel first and dropped people off that didn't want to see the ruins. Great company and our tour guide was Mario Lopez.....excellent guy. They had us back in plenty of time to still shop at the port....Technotel chefs...cooks...and foodservers all wore surgical mask and gloves so no germs would be spread. Food was ok and only a few type beers offered in included price but still a good bargain for the price paid. Water in Progreso is not great in my opinion but never has been in previous trips. All around i highly recommend Autoprogreso and Mario Lopez of course!

  5. In San Juan I knew exactly what I wanted to do - I was going to the forts. The in laws did their thing (still no idea what they actually did) because my FIL was not EVEN going to do all that walking so it was just Jordan, Matt, & I.

It was HOT!! But nice! We had a great breeze too. Later on in the day, we hit a freak rainstorm that helped A LOT in cooling us off but not so much in cleaning us off. We all looked pretty gross by day's end. I was walkin' around lookin' like Tan Mom & Matt sweated through his 30 layers of clothes he wore.

If you don't know who Tan Mom is I will provide you with this lovely image :

    You're welcome.

    Anyways, onto our day!

Of course - breakfast. The most important meal of the day ya know! Which is why I had more french toast lol

San Juan was an EASY port to navigate! We docked right there at the Carnival port. As soon as you're out of the port you actually have a pretty decent view of San Cristobal so with the help of our phones we found out how to get there.

YES there is a TON of walking involved if you choose to do the forts. I figured we'd only do one fort but ,no, Jordan decided we should do both (no complaints, they were awesome!) - but yeah, if you're traveling with older people or ,heck, even babies I would not choose both forts. I probably wouldn't do either fort, actually. We actually saw both people packing their toddlers AND helping those in wheelchairs so it's definitely doable but it did NOT look easy. Plus, I'm lazy so heck no. It doesn't help that I'm out of shape.

^"It smells like urine in here" - me

"Could be because you're in a homeless person's urinal" - Jordan

 It always smells like urine in there.......people are pigs.....love your review!

  6. I seen a comment from JH today to a post.

He is on a long long vacation…. and soon he will go to the retirement home for mascots. More news on that soon. Cheers.

For me I won't miss that thing.

Didn't see him on my last 2 cruise's but instead saw a giant towel animal (elephant) i took pictures with him!

  7. It has changed, actually since we went in May, they changed the water toys. It's a big water park playground out there now according to the pictures they have shown of it (not responding to how far out they are, just the amount of toys...in case you ever want to go back and try it again). :D

I agree 100% that Playa Mia was way better than Nachi. We honestly didn't care for Nachi...well at least for the beach that is.

(The following is not my picture and belongs to Playa Mia)
