  1. Hi ya'all, I've got some miscellaneous burning questions I'm hoping someone can answer for me:

Why don't Kiwis and Aussies get the option of buying bottled water online, and if you can't buy it online, where do you buy it onboard? My friend and I are cruising again in January in a suite and she only drinks bottled water due to health issues.

I had seen somewhere that there's complimentary bottled water provided for suites daily, but after I log in, that isn't mentioned (actually the range of beverages available for purchase is tiny compared to what's on offer for other countries - just beer and coffee cards.....maybe they think we have unrefined tastebuds and that's all we drink downunder LOL!!) We are flying in from NZ night before so won't be visiting any supermarkets to buy a supply to lug onboard with us.

We cruised in a suite last time Mel/Akl and I had read 'Complimentary chef’s “welcome

goodies” on embarkation evening' in the blurb.....nothing was delivered to our suite on embarkation evening:( What is supposed to be delivered?

And another random question....I understand that if staying in a suite, you can have afternoon tea delivered to your suite......we never had afternoon tea at all on last cruise, so would love to do this next January....what do they give you?:D

  2. Yeah, I know what womble99 is saying. Previously if I was looking for a Vista suite, you could still see all other suites available. But the upgraded website now filters out all other suite categories other than the category you have selected.

I can understand the logic of that, but there's clearly a glitch somewhere when one grade of suite doesn't show in the list that you can choose from.

Hopefully Princess will get this fixed quickly:)

  3. These are the ones I was looking at:

14 Days New Caledonia & Vanuatu

Roundtrip from Melbourne, Australia | Saturday, Feb 24, 2018

15 Days Papua New Guinea & South Pacific

Roundtrip from Sydney, Australia | Wednesday, Sep 6, 2017

14 Days Fiji & South Pacific

Roundtrip from Sydney, Australia | Wednesday, Nov 1, 2017

All of them show a drop down list of all suite types, except window suites. I'm using an android tablet and I would love to know for sure that the only reason the window suites aren't showing available is because they're all booked, not because changes to website are causing problems for android tablets....does that make sense?

The only reason I'm questioning this is that I'm pretty sure lots of suites were available on all three cruises up until about two weeks ago? They were certainly showing available for all three cruises:(

  4. I would like to know why Princess feels its okay to overcharge for the coffee card if you're down under?:(

I checked in the NZ Princess website (without logging in) to see what the coffee card costs in the 'Beverage & Drink Packages' section. It stated cost of one premium coffee card was AU$36 which, when coverted, is NZ$37.46.

I then logged in, checked the price again and Kiwis are being charged NZ$55.26 for exactly the same product.

Why does Princess feel it's okay to charge NZ$17.80 more per card?

    Seriously not impressed......

  5. Hi ya'all!

I'm puzzled; I've read in numerous places on CC that suite guests can order off the dining room menu for room service.....

But (and here comes the dumb question folks!) how is one supposed to know what is actually on the dining room menu so you can order it? The room service menu doesn't have the daily dining room menu and I can't recall seeing the menu on Princess @ Sea.....

Can someone please put me out of my misery?:'):(:o

  6. Yeah, so the spreadsheet really helps me with my organisation; I list all the items with a 'tick box' column on the left that I can tick when the item has 'landed' in my suitcase; note the word 'landed'. It's not 'packed' but it is in my suitcase.

The reason for this, is that once everything is sitting in the open suitcase, I go over the list again and question myself 'do I REALLY need that?'. Often items are pulled out again before I actually pack my suitcase. Now, I need to say that I've only had one cruise yet, with next one coming up in January 2018 - but this is the packing technique that I use whenever I go away.

The cool thing about this, is that I can delete the items on the spreadsheet that I took out of my suitcase, save it again, and then it's ready for the next time I go away.

This habit stems from my former life as a 'caterer' - I had to make sure I packed all the gear I was going to need to produce the meal, as often the venues don't have what you need. I also made spreadsheets for the grocery shopping with three columns to the left of the item on the list. One for the 'tick' one for the estimated cost and one for the actual cost. I found that really helped me to assess costs more accurately when preparing a quote:)

  7. Our group of nine dined in the Crown Grill on the Golden Princess about a month ago. We had a fantastic waiter - Marko from Serbia. The service he gave our group was impeccable and he did make suggestions about the menu, but it was a guide and he wasn't the least bit put out when some of us didn't follow his suggestions.

The meals were great - we were all very happy with what we were served with some commenting that their steak was the best they had ever eaten:)

  8. Hey I've been reading heaps of posts about future cruise deposits, trying to find confirmation of what I was told by the person in the future cruise office on Golden Princess.

I told him I would be cruising with my aunty in a couple of years, and I understood that I couldn't buy a FCD for her when I bought mine, but he did tell me that when she went to book into same suite with me, she too would only have to pay the equivalent of $100 FDC.

So.....my problem is that I've read in other posts that any other person travelling without a FDC would have to pay the full deposit. But, as I'm paying for her, I'm trying to find out for sure if what I was told by the staff member is correct......

    Can anyone help please?:)
