  1. Does anyone have restaurant recommendations for dinner in Juneau?  We are visiting the port on 5/28/19 from 2:30-11:00 pm with the Mendenhall Glacier and Mt Roberts tram excursion scheduled from 3:00-7:30.  I was thinking the Timberline Bar and Grill on top of Mt Roberts after the excursion but I couldn't find restaurant hours and the tram hours close at 9:00.  Would I really get stuck on top of the mountain if dinner runs over and the trams closes?

NCL uses motor coach from the Bell Street Terminal to the airport. They are located right outside the terminal door. As soon as a bus fills, they dispatch it. Buses start with self walkoff and continue through bags taken to the baggage hall with a color tag. It is super easy.

Many passengers use the Port Valet service. You register early in your cruise, leave your bags outside your stateroom on the last night, and the next time you see your bags is at your home airport (no charge for overweight bags!!!). When you are ready to disembark, you just walk off the ship and onto the motor coach.

Thank you Bird!  So it looks like we would be able to us the Port Valet and self walkoff with the airport transfer. Since our flight out of Seattle is 11:23 am and should arrive 1.5 hrs prior, what time would you recommend we "walkoff" to allow enough time through customs and wait for the bus to fill and commute to airport?  I'm thinking 8:00ish or is that too late??

When we used the NCL transfer in Miami, it was on our edocs. On the 2nd last day there was a  “chart” delivered to our stateroom. It clearly showed the time & colour luggage tags for those with flights before a certain time, or after.

But caution, the chart said we were to have green tags disembarking at 8:45. But aqua tags  (for 9:45) were delivered to us. A quick trip to guest services fixed that.

As we departed the building a security guard pointed us to the bus.

    Thank You for the info!

  4. We're booked on an Alaskan Cruise in May R/T out of Seattle. Our return flight home is Jet Blue at 11:23 am the day the ship returns to port.  We've purchased airport transfers from NCL but never have in the past.   How does the disembarkation process work with airport transfers?  For example: are we assigned the time slot for disembarkation by NCL, how will we know when/where to meet shuttle to guarantee timely arrival at airport, will we have to "self assist" our checked bags.   Also we wanted to use the Seattle Port Valet for our checked bags...is that still possible?  Just a little concerned since our flight time was changed to an earlier time than originally scheduled.  Thanks!!

  5. Does anyone know how the disembarkation process works if you purchase the $20.00 transfer to the airport from NCL?  For example: Are we assigned a time to disembark or choose one ourselves? Meet the shuttle at a specific location/time after going thru customs? Also will be still be able to use the Port Valet and walk off self assist with just our carry on?

Our flight is Jet Blue 11:23 out of Seattle on Sunday 6/2.

This is our first trip to Alaska and never purchased airport transfers before or used the Port Valet.  Thanks!!

  6. Taking an Alaskan cruise on the Bliss and 120 day booking window is not until January but thinking ahead.  If Jersey Boys/Havana show times are 7:30 and 10:00/10:30 (runtime of 1hr 15min - 1hr 45min) and restaurants close at 9:30 then I assume dinner will have to be booked prior to the show?? Does anyone know how much time is allotted for dinner service when reserving online?    For ex: if booking a 7:30 show and 2 hrs are required for dinner service, will the online reservation system force me to book my dinner at/before 5:30? Would I be able to make dinner reservations after the early show even though it's practically restaurant closing time?

  7. If show times are 7:30 or 10:00/10:30 (performance time is 1hr 15min - 1hr 45min) and restaurants close at 9:30 then I assume dinner will have to be booked prior to the show. Does anyone know how much time is allotted for dinner service when reserving online?    For ex: if booking a 7:30 show and 2 hrs are required for dinner service would I have to book my dinner at 5:30 or will it allow me to book dinner after the early show prior to restaurant closing?

  8. I've never been on either a floatplane or helicopter and would like to experience one of these excursions in Alaska. In an effort to prevent anxiety/panic attack which would be a "smoother" flight, have more comfortable seating for a large person and window seats/views for all? Which aircraft is easier to "climb" in and out of?

  9. Hello, I just registered to this site. I will be departing from NYC on 6/12 to Bermuda with my two sons celebrating their high school and college graduation along with my milestone *gulp* 50th birthday!

I flew to Bermuda in 1989 but my boys have never been and we are first time cruisers. Very excited for this adventure!
