  1. I am considering booking a cruise relatively last minute (11/10/19) on the Norwegian Escape NYC to Bermuda.  Price is the same if I book with NCL direct or through BJ's Wholesale Club (BJ's is offering some onboard credit).  My question is, do you think the price will reduce any further beyond where it is today and if so, is it easier to get an adjustment booking through NCL direct or BJ's?  *If we book, we will book a a balcony room.  Any suggestions.

  2. Hello,

My family visited Bermuda last year and purchased the 3 day pass. We ended up using taxi service (never used the bus). Since pass was never used, are they still valid? I have friends going to Bermuda next week and would like to give them the pass.

  3. We rented a car as planned above and went to st. Martins. Went directly to caves and it was right between high and low tides. I was able to go out to caves with very little water. About 2 hours when we came back after fast lunch at caves restaurant, fundy trail with couple of short stops, and picture taking in st. Martins by bridge. Be sure to go on tiny boardwalk next to road behind covered bridge to see 2nd bridge with 1st and faux lighthouse. When we drove by caves 2 hours later you could see the water in the way ..no way to get near them.

But to answer a question, you don't have to get there right at low tide. I'd say we got there 2 hours after that and it was ok. Just watch things carefully. Also we had to walk over some slippery rocks, maybe 10 feet total, and I decided to just walk in the water (maybe one inch at most) to be steadier.

    Enjoy. We loved it.

Thank you for such a great idea! Really looking forward to it.

  4. Day 1: The caves are about a 20-25 minute bus ride (quicker by taxi) from St George. If you haven't visited any caves in the states, you should enjoy a visit to the Bermuda caves.

    Walking tours for SG:

If you really enjoy old forts, Fort St Catherine would be a good choice, and you could do Fort Hamilton in Hamilton City.

If you do the caves, you'll have to make a decision on how to get back to your cruise ship at the Dockyard. You could bus into Hamilton (about 30 minutes travel time) and board the ferry from there to the Dockyard (20 minute travel time), or you bus back to St George and board the ferry from there to the Dockyard (45 minute travel time). The only downside in returning to SG is that the ferry from SG to the Dockyard runs only 3 times in the PM - 1, 3:30 & 5:30.

As for too much for day 1, for me, it would depend on the time I finished in SG/caves, but your boys are young enough to handle a long day, are you?

Day 2: Can't help with the boat rental, but when completed, you could do the Dockyard and/or visit the National Museum of Bermuda.

Day 3: Looks good; take an early minibus to Horseshoe Bay and return. Oneway fare is $7P/P.

There is a map and 'to do' list available if you think they would help.

Thank you for the advice. We have done caves here in PA. Think we'll cross that off the list.

  5. Traveling with husband and 2 sons (15 and 18) aboard the Summit in a few weeks. We will have just about 3 days in Bermuda (first time visiting). Looking for ideas for making the best use of our time.....

DAY ONE. thinking of taking the first possible ferry to St. Geroge (what should we see, are the caves nearby...worth seeing, how about Fort St. Catherine...thoughts?).

Back to ship for dinner then ferry to Hamilton for Hamilton Nights (too much in one day?)

DAY TWO, we rented a Boston Whaler for 4 hours (9-1) to explore, snorkel on our own. Any suggestions on what to see/where to stop on boat? What to do with the remainder of the day?

DAY THREE, boarding is at 4:00. Thinking of getting an early start to Horseshoe Bay then the Dockyard. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any advise!

  6. Husband and I and our 2 boys, 15 and 18 will be on the Summit 8/14. Sounds like the private taxi is the best option to see the Island. Can anyone give me a sample itinerary of what to see during a 4 hour private tour? Feeling a little overwhelmed. I would love to see the pink sand, thinking of touring atleast one of the caves and take in some of the history. Should we have the taxi drop us back to the ship of drop off elsewhere?
