Why not just buy the 100 shares and get the OBC every cruise?  I couldn't care less what the NCLH stock price does.  Like many individual stocks, it goes up, down and all around.  This is not a significant investment.

    Agree.
Since we just have the stock for OBC I had inadvertently left it off our information for the college financial aid. In my travel focused mind it’s a vacation perk not an investment. Luckily my husband reminded me before I hit the submit button.

Keep in mind that the offer needs to be in effect when you book it.  If you book outside that window you will not get the extra points.

We have a screenshots that says “past guest offer” on the booking page dated the day we booked the cruise. Maybe my original post wasn’t clear on that. Which is why we thought we would get the double points. I would not have asked here if I didn’t think we should have gotten the extra points.  I always take screen shots during the booking process.

I was curious if this is a thing with NCL or a onetime snafu. Now I know to look at the codes when we book future cruises. If we had know to do that I could have called NCL that day to figure out what was going on.

Lesson learned. So thankful for the knowledgeable cruisers here.

I think it's LATITUDE for double points. List of codes is in one of the first sticky topics here.

Thanks for the info. LATITUDE is not listed on our confirmation. I guess that’s what we get for booking thru the website. I assume if we had booked thru a travel agent or an NCL agent they would have confirmed the “Past Guest Offer” was not actually still available even thought it was listed on the website.

(I am very happy to have learned about that sticky post! 😀  Going to check the codes on our April TA now!)

    Close your eyes.

    Take a deep breath.

Think about the great times that you had on your last cruise.

Open your eyes and smile as you realize that the extra points aren't important enough to stress over.

I hope I don’t sound stressed. Just wondering if this is a thing to watch out for with NCL.

it is "off." you are correct.

if indeed the promo was somehow capacity-controlled (i've never heard of this for NCL offers), they knew that at the time you booked and that should have been disclosed at the time you booked. you then could have made a decision as to whether or not you wanted to continue.

on the other hand, what does your booking confirmation say? does it include the code for double points? screen shots are all well and good, but did your booking confirmation say you were to receive double points?

Thank you for your response. What would the confirmation say if there were double points. I guess we were not aware that this is something we should look for. Not that it would have mattered after the fact since we booked this after the final payment timeframe. I think we’ll just put this under “learning experience” and be very careful when we book future cruises. But we book for the itinerary not cruise line or “extra points” but like I said my husband  was looking forward to Platinum benefit (hello free laundry) on our TA in April.

  5. We are new to cruising but this is just confusing us. We booked a cruise under the “past guest offer” that comes with the extra latitude points. We have screen shots (I am a stickler for taking screen shots at time of booking for all travel).  Post cruise we received the usual points per day but not the extra points.  Here is NCLs response when we queried them about the missing points.

Thank you for contacting Norwegian Cruise Line.

The additional points promotions are capacity-controlled and are automatically added to the reservation when booking with a qualified latitude number. The reservation did not receive the promotion due to the promotion reaching capacity.

    Sincerely,
    Norwegian Cruise Line

I understand if the promotion was at capacity and no longer available but also feel that it should not have been listed as a “Past Guest Offer” on the booking page. Has anyone else had this happen? Just feels off to us. We have been enjoying NCL and my husband was looking forward to receiving Platinum Benefits on our next cruise. So it stings a little bit. (We received 60 points on a 20 day cruise incase anyone is pondering how we can newbies and almost platinum.)

Years ago we were in aft facing 10318 next to the secret stairs.  When we arrived balcony was set up with two chairs and one table.  We asked room steward for a lounger and helped him carry it through the cabin.  We had the two chairs and table on one side of balcony and the lounger on the other.

Thank you. Great video. Looks like we’ll be able to fit them.

I don't know about Norwegian, but sometimes there is a foot stool that stows under the chair, thus providing you with a semi-lounger. The back may not recline, but the feet can go up!

Another option is to buy a small, inflatable footstool. We have both an inflatable seat cushion and footstool that we stick in the luggage for cruises.

I did think about getting an inflatable footstool. My husband thought I was joking. Can’t wait to show him this! I think it’s a great idea.

When you say lounge chair do you mean a chair that does not recline? Or are you meaning a lounger? Based on the graphic (and not personal experience) @DCGuy64 posted, it doesn't look like a lounger would fit. I'm pretty sure all NCL balconies come with two lounge chairs.

Looking for personal experience since we don’t have any.  I am thinking about something more comfortable than a chair which is what is pictured. A friend said we should be able to ask for and fit two lounge chairs or pool lounger again maybe I am not using the correct wording. I have looked at the deck plans and YouTube videos so just hoping someone on cruise critic will be able to answer yes or no or maybe if you ask nicely.

  9. We are very new to cruising and having a great time but it’s a learning process.  We booked a transatlantic on the Epic and our PCC recommended aft deck 13. I just want to make sure that we can ask for 2 lounge chairs and that they will fit on deck 13 aft (non haven).  I’ll have my kindle fully loaded and I am really looking forward to relaxing on my balcony. We are well aware that the Epic is an odd duck so being able to make the most of the balcony on our 10 total sea days is very important to us. Thanks in advance.
