Yes, you can! But it remains till the end of the cruise. It is also possible, to do the upgrade just for one person in your cabin. Wines are only in the ultimate package.

2) Did they return the passports without individuals having to present themselves to immigration officers who sometimes board the ship on the 1st day in port (day before disembarking)?
I ask this because we want to do a private tour that will not return us to the ship until 4:30 in the afternoon and I'm concerned about "missing" getting the passport stamped and processed. Last November on Oceania, we had to present ourselves to officers day before disembarking in Southampton - in the show lounge.
...
I never had to show up for immigration in Italy.
This is in my experiance usual for Great Britan.

Rome - you can take the train to Civiatveccia - and for the last mile I would recomend a taxi, that is allowed to enter the port area
Sorrento and Amalfi are tender ports
Argastoli, as far as I remeber no shuttle necessary but also not so much to explore
Olympia(Katakolon) - the ship ancors in Katakolon - you will need extra transportation to Olympia, 30 km away
Chania/Crete also a tender port
Athens, as already mentioned, there is a shuttle to the airport, that has to be payed.

As far as I remember, there was a tax back spot in 2019. But I do not know, if there is one at every gate.

We are ballroom dancers and did 4 cruises with Azamara this year.
To travel with Azamara we really enjoy, but not for dancing. It depends on the live band at Living Room, if they are able to play dance music.
With latin dancing it is a bit easier, but I remember we had some Viennese Waltz (because some blues or rock songs are 3/4) and a very few Slowfox and English Waltz.
In summer on Journey where more guests intersted in ballroom dancing, so I spoke to the CD and he arranged that Azamara Band play about half an hour, before the shows started, dance music at Cabaret Lounge, which was really nice.

Lovely video. I wonder if it took so long to board because she got to the pier very early.
Embarkation started, as announced at 2 pm. We arrived at 1:30 at the port and sat down for lunch at 2:30.

We were on the same cruise. She was really flashed by vegan food options.

We also love ballroom dancing. Compered to other companies Azamara does not provide so many possibilities.
In Livingroom is a live band playing. Some of them are able to play music for dancing, but more for Latin dancing. We usually speak with them and get some music for dance within an evening. From 11 pm there is a DJ. You can ask for your favourite music, maybe he has matching files.
At Cabaret lounge unfortunately no dance music.
Azamazig evening should be back now. You can find it on your cruise planner where you book shore excursions.

But we had a wonderful sunny day in Genoa.
Around 8pm thunderstorms with wind and rain started.

Why does this rule still exist? We have done some cruises since Covid with other lines, we were always on board around noon. ..
If there are at least 600 guests embaraking it is no very economic to extend this time for maybe 8 hours. So quite different to other cruise lines where maybe 3000 and more people have to be checked in.

We boarded on Saturday in Barcelona. Arrived at port at 1:30. Although there were around 100 guests waiting, embarkation started at 2:00 pm.
But very fast so we sat down for lunch at 2:30 in Windows Café.

Thanks for your input. Was there any overly loud, annoying music played anywhere?
I am on Onward right now. No music on pooldeck or restaurants. I think I mentioned some music at Den this morning when passing by.

@iana1212 thank you sharing your experience! May I ask who is on the keys at Den?

My experiance with complaints is, that senior officers are thankful for feedback and really try to make a change. For example on Journey in summer we got music for ballroom dancing either with the Azamara band and also with the DJ after we talked to CD Stephen.
We also had several talks with the captain and HD who both were interested if there are things that are not as good as they could be.

Our lights are mounted on the on the wall, no USB.
Do have a look or more feel on the bottom of the lamp. This is a bit tricky.

I am sure, Dollars are not preferred by local people because they have to use Euro for everything. As you will have to pay everything in Italy in Euro so why not tip in Euro.
