  1. Wow!  Since my DH does not like to dance and I love to, the most I enjoyed in my OC cruises was the dancing ambassadors!  I was lucky to share dancing with great dancers who could range from classic rock, to disco, to latin, with expertise and flair.  Sorry it's not happening now.

  2. Like Rachel G, I probably should have been more proactive and submitted a formal review of my one and only previous Regent cruise.  It would have been very positive.  However, it was to the Caribbean in late February, and weather was not an issue.  Most recent negative reviews were to Alaska, where weather can cause port tendering complications...not Regent's fault.

  3. Dear Lois, I am so sorry for your predicament.  As I am from Puerto Rico, and knowing the perils of flying the mid Atlantic from late August till mid October, I would advise you to connect from Europe during these times through Charlotte and not through JFK.  True, a longer flight, but our experience (to Syracuse) has been fine doing these dates.  I do hope that you get home ASAP!!  Sending best wishes, Cam

  4. Many years ago I visited the Hassan Mosque in Casablanca.  Its foundations sit on the sea, so, as seas rise over time due to climate change, they may now be affecting the structure.  Apart from Rick's Café and the Hassan Mosque (which I found not particularly special, but not Las Vegas style), I will not recommend the "see the monkeys" tour...I regret that I did it.

Yes there are stops with benches on the island walkways. The carts make a circle starting from the ship and back to the ship. It is a long way from the ship’s gangway to the island entrance as you see in my picture in post #3 second picture. The ship docked there at the end of the pier.

Yes, I see now.  We could walk it, but. better not exert ourselves too much if we want to walk around the island.  Is there anything to see in pedestrian mode except stores & restaurants?  Some islands have pretty architecture worth enjoying.

It was really empty… you had your choice of loungers!😂

They is a cart transport offered to get from the ship to the island. There is no way I could have done that walk!

Thanks for the info on the cart transport.  DH and I are pretty good walkers and it may be a very pleasant walk...however, would there be the cart transport back to the ship?

I need suggestions for unique things to do on Harvest Caye. Monkey River Eco Tour? Beachy things? Water sports? Mangrove tour?

Are we on our own for lunch, or is it provided by RSS?

Hi GMIAC, the electric boat tour is the one we signed up for the Dec 14 cruise.  Nothing spectacular, but should be pleasant.  Rum punch, anyway!

I trust that won’t be the case in the Caribbean. 😀😀😀😀

In the Caribbean, be sure to ask for rum.  Apart form the well known Piña Colada, you should try a Cuba Libre with Don Q rum (probably Bacardi Gold will be the only one available suited for this drink).  As a dessert wine, Captain Morgan will do.  If feeling very adventurous and if available, what about Ron Barrilito from Puerto Rico?

  9. We have looked at an itinerary in the Nova that we would like but... our friends recently left an SS cruise with unbridled children, and they were not pleased.  I wonder if enough people complained that SS would take note and take action....

  10. It is not a rough neighborhood, there was no neighborhood (except the park) until Paseo Caribe opened.  You can check on line regarding the Hilton based restaurants, which have always been very good.  I recently had brunch at their version of a diner/deli and the food was very good.  During daytime you can walk (crossing the Dos Hermanos bridge) to the Condado area and you will find an array of small shops and dives (Fiero talk).  However, an excellent lunch can be had at the Ola Restaurant of the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel.  You may want to explore the delicacies at their 1919 Restaurant for dinner, or at their steakhouse.  Above, I also mentioned two other restaurants you may wish to explore.  At night, please take a taxi.  I do hope you enjoy your stay in my Island!!

    Hi Keith,

Is there ballroom dancing before and/or after dinner? What  about dance lessons during the day?

    Thank you.

I am very interested to find out if dance classes and dance ambassadors will be continued.  Thanks.

You can walk to everywhere from the GB - even the Acropolis if you don't mind a lot of stair climbing.

Yes, you can walk to the Acropolis from the GB, but be careful, as you would in any major city.  In our walk to the Acropolis we were followed by a young couple who stopped and tied laces every time we stopped.  We were not sure of their intentions and decided to walk back for a bit....and there they were... really surprised!!  They then left and we were able to resume our walk.  The Acropolis and its museum are a must do in Athens.

  13. Oh my, it was one of my first SS cruises early on the 2000 millennium when I met this wonderful couple from Mexico at La Dame, and she was wearing the loveliest long gown, which made feel sorry I had not worn mine.  How much has changed in less than 25 years!!  However, I remember we had the best of all cruises interacting with our Mexican couple in our SS cruise.
