  1. Anytime we have had a suite we also get FTTF just for the purpose of immediate access cabin. Not sure why this question keeps coming up, it has always been like that and the answer is always the same...

Not everyone scours the boards for previously answered questions, plus things change every so often, and outdated answers aren't always true.

The change to a suite was an upgrade as we were in just a regular OV before. I have never felt the need for FTTF, although I did get it once, and I understand why people do. It wasn't available when I booked this cruise, and it was nearly 9 months in advance! Still looking diligently though.

  2. A partial list of FTTF benefits per Carnival's website. Notice Suites are not mentioned like Diamond and Platinum Guests. You get to keep your $20 and collect another $20 from lcpagejr :D!

    Here's what the program includes:

    Priority Security, Check-in and Boarding

A dedicated security and check-in lane has been set aside for all Priority guests on embarkation day. FTTF guests will board after VIFP Diamond, Platinum and guests traveling in deluxe suite accommodations.

Note: Only Diamond, Platinum and guests traveling in deluxe suite accommodations have access to the Captain’s Lounge.

    First Access to Stateroom

Your stateroom will be ready for you as soon as you board, so you can relax or freshen up for all the fun you are about to have.

Note: This is also a benefit for VIFP Diamond and Platinum guests.

Shoot, I'm just glad to not stand in the cattle line. Although I will feel a gleam of terrible when I walk by everyone.

  3. Suites are not included and, therefore, not mentioned.

    Thank you for the information!

Valor is on bard with the S&S cards in the mailbox, so we wouldn't be able to get in unless it is ready, but my dad has trouble walking and standing for long periods of time, so I figured asking would save us a trip down to our cabin.

  4. Mom is always right....lol Suites fall under the priority status (like Platinum, Diamond and FTTF).... Cabins will be ready when they board

Arggghhh!! That's $20 that goes to her then. Haha, should have known better than to bet against the woman who knows literally everything.

    Thank you!

  5. I am sailing on the Valor in January, through lots of mishaps, and customer service calls, myself, my mom and my dad are booked in a ocean suite. I know that suite "perks" are not the same as FTTF perks, but on my last cruise (November) my mom swears she saw a sign flashing by guest services that suite guest staterooms were ready at 11:30, same as FTTF. I vehemently disagree, and believe they are ready at 1:30 with everyone else's. We are all content to wait around until the announcements are made that all staterooms are ready, but I have some casino money bet down on this, so i'm curious.

    Anyone care to chime in?

  6. I don't want to hijack your thread OP, but I have a question. I have always booked online for my cruises, rather than using a TA or PVP. I'm assuming there are definite perks to using a PVP rather than just booking it on your own.

What are the perks? Lessened deposit On board credit?

My apologies if this is a dumb question, but I really don't know, maybe I should be using a PVP?

  7. There’s a whole pizza thread on the issue which is why I addressed as I did. We found the crust motza like and the sauce a bit sweet for our taste. But when you’re drunk in the middle of the ocean and there is nothing else, it’s still pretty good.

I was on this same cruise, and one night the sauce was so sweet it was unbearable. I likened it to tomato jelly, it wasn't as sweet the next night.

  8. I sailed on the Freedom last year mid July, and our cabin (I side, deck 7) was warm. Not so bad to make me complain, but warm enough to be slightly uncomfortable at times. It wasn't continuously warm though. I'm on the Valor in about 2 weeks, and this time I have a fan just in case.

  9. Can't tell you anything about a porthole cabin on Splendor, but we have one on the Valor in 3 days. 1221 on the starboard side. We are prepared to have some noise from the anchor chain in Cozumel and again back in Galveston. We have no idea how noisy it may be, but figured the cruise is only 4 days long. Our cabin is supposed to be 220 sq ft, which is 35 sq ft more than a regular cabin.

Just looking forward to some R&R this weekend.

I booked this same room on Valor as weel, but my cruise is still way far off (June 26th) Please let me know how you like it! I snore, my mom does not, so I was thinking of taking earplugs with me anyway. I don't believe I will need them, I LOVE the sound of the waves hitting the ship! I am curious to the amount of movement at this location, as it's the closest to the bow that I have ever been. Please let me know, I'm very interested for any information at all!

  10. About how far out do upsell calls usually start happening? I still have a little over 70 days, but have been toying with calling, and upgrading from an inside with potholes to an OV on a higher deck. I'm booked for deck 1 currently, and would prefer to be higher up.

It's a surprise cruise for my mom's birthday (her 1st), and I think she would appreciate being further up.

  11. I am so sad. I teach all week wanted a quieter place since there is no serenity[emoji30].

I also teach to support my cruising habit, I'm on Valor in late June. Deeply saddened by the fact that the aft (formerly) adult only pool will now be used as a family pool. I don't stay in the pool all day by any means, but I do enjoy a leisurely swim away from the shouting/throwing/general boisterousness.
