If you were embarking, let's say, on the twenty-eighth, check-in would begin on the seventh at 12:01 AM Eastern Standard Time ( or daylight savings time). You being on the west coast, it would (should) open at 9:00PM on the sixth. But that doesn't always happen.

I noticed this is your first NCL cruise. FYI, you'll need your passport numbers and expiration dates; photo (head shot, no glasses as I remember); credit card; and emergency contact for each person with phone number. Happy sailing!!

Thank you for this information. Ill be ready.

  2. Still not clear to me on what is included in the package. Also is there any reason for both pax to buy the package or should only one person buy it. is it $200 or $400? When you try to check out it asks you who is buying it and has a check box next to each passenger in the add to cart. I would think it was a per cabin package and why but it twice unless you wanted 16 photos and 2 digital copies. Like I said. I will call tomorrow and hope someone knowledgeable with on ship package features gets on the other side. Typical phone agents have never been on a cruise ship and often have a poor understanding of how la carte packages are formatted.

  3. I have a question about the photo package. When it says "and FREE Digital Files of all selected photos". Does that include every digital *.jpg photo taken by NCL photographers? (ie gangway, port, formal, casual, dining, random around the ship, and other photos.) Here is the exact language of the package. Can I select every one?

    TIA.

  4. CC mini no.
    CC with full suite. Sure.
You can buy specialty dining every night of your cruise for less than the upcharge for CC mini. I have used CC in the past. Never again unless sailing in a full suite. Just one pax opinion.

This is gold, thanks!  And I never knew about the URL once onboard and connected to WiFi....

Next time your on the ship just put (shipname.princess.com) and you will access the pre-medallion electronic app Ocean Concierge. The newest features will forward you to the Medallion App but location, menus and more as well as your daily planner (aka Princess Patter) is an easy scroll vertically down a timeline.

  6. I found some time on my recent sailing to Alaska. So I downloaded all the menus listed for the trip on my laptop. Vines was not listed. When I went to Vines and acquired why Vines had no menu. I even tried the barcode in Vines and it also didn't work. I was told that it was being worked on. It needed updating as the popular wines were sold out and others were replacing them. They would update it once it finalized. That never happened before I got off, so Vines is missing. I included the MDR menus from a single day since they list wines available on plus and premier package. I hope this helps some figure out what wines and or liquor is available at each bar. Of course it is only a sampling since either your favorite wine or vodka may or may not be available when you sail.  Note: All of these menus are found using the barcodes found in each area. The barcodes use the Ocean Concierge data found at (shipname.princess.com). Since I was on the Ruby I used  ruby.princess.com when once connected to the ships WiFi. No internet purchase necessary. My DW and I also used Ocean Concierge on our phones and like the Patter much better than using the Medallion app. The sideways, up and down of the Journey view on the Medallion app is goofy and we often missed items. We prefer using our phones over paper but found ourselves not bothering with the Medallion app unless required and stuck with the Ocean Concierge found at ruby.princess.com for daily activities.

  7. I have looked closely at the Island Princess and wondered how many of the passengers on the ship do the whole 111 days? With Princess selling segments of the World Cruise, it got me wondering how many were in for the whole thing vs partial. Defiantly a bucket list trip for us. If we boarded in Long Beach how many of you would stay on for the whole trip? Lastly what segment or segments were your favorite?

Happy to hear that. All of the crew I talked to were frustrated with wearing them for as much good as they did.

At least we can see their faces again.

Agreed. We find ourselves having to get so close to the workers faces speaking loudly only to have them pull thier mask down eventually to stop having to repeat. Thick foreign accents doesn't help either. I'm 100% in favor of staff "mask required" elimination. JM2C.

  9. Please keep scrolling if this is all old news. I just learned it. We are finally back on board after a long pause. Last sailed Sky in 2020. We boarded last week to learn "Masks not Required". The staff is masking in public for us. One bartender mentioned there is talk of eliminating staff mask requirements next week. Her fingers are crossed. I also learned the Crown is coming to San Francisco. Told it would be announced August 9th.

There has been no Pub Lunch, no Crab Shack, no Chefs Table, no UST, no hot towels when boarding, no 24/7 IC. Staff mentioned it would all come back once staffing was back up to normal levels. Until then we are just thrilled to be sailing. No complaints whatsoever. Food has been good, staff friendly, drinks avalible. Enjoy your next trip and happy sailing.
