  1. I've been on the Liberty twice and the Victory once and about to go on Victory again in November. I would go with Liberty due to the fact that it has the Steakhouse which was an amazing experience for only $35 extra. A must do. However, you will have fun on both. Everything else I would say is pretty equal. I love that class of ship better than the newer ships on Carnival. You will enjoy either one after all Carnival is the Funships.

  2. I have been on Sensation twice. Once on a girls trip and then once with my husband, son and his best friend. We had an absolute blast. However, I have since been on the Victory on a mother-son cruise and prefer the Victory only because it has a few more options such as the Dive In Movies and the water slide I think was nicer. I am going on the Victory again this November with my family. Each night, I like to wind down with a movie on deck even if I have seen it previously. Plus its another good option on Sea Days, while I'm in the pool or the hot tub I can watch a movie. Even if it is chilly at night they hand out blankets and popcorn and you can still comfortably enjoy the movie outdoors. Victory also has Guy's Burgers, Seafood Shack, Blue Iguana and a couple of other eateries that Sensation did not have. I have enjoyed all of my cruises on Carnival regardless of the class of ship. I do wish it had its very own Steakhouse as does the Liberty which I think is a fantastic option. Shows are consistent on all classes of ships except for the new ships which have in my opinion smaller venues.

  3. I love the theatre shows, from the concerts and musicals to the game shows. My favorite is the Love and Marriage Show. I also like to people watch on the Lido deck especially during the sail away party. And some ships have a night time white party. I love watching the folks dance. Also the Comedians. I only go to the early shows because the late shows get pretty raunchy with the comedy and jokes. Lastly, I enjoy trying out all the foods I would never dare spend the money to buy back at home. Like escargot, frog legs, etc. Try everything and especially the chocolate melting cake.

  4. We’ve been taking a yearly cruise with my son for lastseveral years. He’s 15 now, but when hewas 11, he and I did a mother son trip on the 4 day/3 nt Victory. We had an absolute blast. I had assumed my son would sign up for one of the kid’s camp and leave me to hang out with the other kids. But he opted to stay with me and we had aball. We did everything together from watching multiple Dive In Movies by the poolside, playing on the water slide and in the pool; playing games in the video arcade, going to the Karaoke shows, nightly musical concerts in the theatre, all the game shows (e.g., Love &Marriage), Trivia Games, Nightly PG Comedy show; mini golf, Bean Bag Toss, Watch the Hairy Man Concert together, went to the deck parties and people watched (no dancing LOL), tried all the various types of food in the dining room that we normally wouldn’t order back at home, stayed up all night watching movies and ordering late night room service or grabbing pizza at the 24 hour pizza shop. In Nassau, we walked to the beach and hung out there for a while and then shopped at the local market places. We’ve been to Nassau so many times, so wedidn’t opt for an excursion. However, in the past, we have done excursions such as the private beach day, the submarine that allows you to view the sea life, the city bus tour of the fort and other local sites and even rented a private boat to take us snorkeling and island surfing. We ordered pina coladas (virgin for him) daily at the theatre shows, made our own milkshakes daily. I could go on and on. All this to say, your 9 year old will have a blast, whether it is hanging out with you or joining the kids camp. The kids at the camp looked like they were having a blast also as we saw them around the ship. Please take him and enjoy.

  5. I just want to say that it has been a couple of years since I've been on the Victory, but we absolutely had a fabulous time. Coming from a customer service background, I find that the majority of folks who have had a negative experience will complain and post. However, that is not so true about the folks who have had a wonderful experience. Most people aren't writing in to a company or calling a company to say, hey there, by the way, my flight was absolutely wonderful. Or perhaps they had a terrific dinner, I don't know a lot of folks who will proactively write a review. You get my point. However, every company has a complaint line. So take it with a grain of salt. I'm sure just as many folks or more enjoyed their cruise. I've been on Carnival mostly with about 10 cruises under my belt on Carnival, then I've been on Disney, Norwegian & MSC yet, I continue to return to the Funships with Carnival. My best cruises have been on Carnival despite many negative reviews. I have been very bad about posting positive reviews even though I have had amazing cruises. Go for it and enjoy it. Afterall, its one of the Funships.

  6. Just got off Divina on Sunday in Miami. I took Uber to ship for $12.50 on embarking. On returning Uber was charging $22.50 back to Miami airport. But driver couldn't find us and cancelled so we hopped in taxi and paid flat rate of $27. My friends traveled to ft Lauderdale and said they paid Uber $50 to get to the port on embarking on cruise.

  7. Don't be terrified. I just got off Divina and loved it. I gave it a 8 out of 10. No issue s at all. I only ranked it 8 because I need a little more activities during the day other than dance lessons and language lessons. Some more games and game shows and even comedians at night would have made it a 10. Also they had a lot more classical and opera than I was accustomed but it was a refreshing change from Carnival and NCL. Food much better than the other two. Drink packages were perfect. We had a blast. I plan to do Seaside maybe next year.

  8. I just got off Divina and they will let you in with just about anything even on formal night. There were folks in jeans, tennis shoes and shorts. Nice shorts but they were the minority. Not sure they felt comfortable on formal night but they let them in. On the other nights my 15 year old had on shorts and a t-shirt and he was fine. Hubby either had on plaid shorts or jeans or joggers and had no problem.

  9. Me too. I had paid my cruise in full back in July for a November cruise. I found out about the Loyalty Match a couple of months later and received a 5% back refund. I am loving this MSC already. I'm a die-hard Carnival loyalist but I'm always willing to try new cruiselines but keep going back to Carnival. Tried Disney and was impressed with the cabin and food and the staff but was totally bored as Disney is geared more towards little girls. Tried NCL for a Mediterranean cruise, not enough activities on sea days or any evening for that matter. Enjoyed the ports of call in Italy, France and Spain, but not so much the free style cruising where nothing was free. Anyway, I am so excited for my 8 day MSC Divina cruise next week. I hope I will return, but don't mind going back to the Fun Ship Carnival.

Not sure if this will help but I just got off the 4/3 Liberty. Here were the movies. Boss baby, Beauty and the Beast, Sing, Moana, Rogue One, fantastic beasts and where to find them. Might be different for your ship.

  12. So, I take it the Rm Svce menu is available 24 hrs?

Someone asked earlier how many shrimp constitute an order. Anyone know how many wings in an order? There will be 3 of us in our room, and I'm just trying to figure out how many we might need for a midnight snack?

We're from Buffalo. Are the wings decent? Deep fried with crisp skin - or limp, flaccid skin?

    TIA

I just got off the Liberty Sunday. Wings are excellent. Hit the spot. Was neither fried crispy or limp. Just right. 10 wingettes in each order. Not the whole wing. We ordered 2 orders thinking it would be 5 each. Got the honey barbecue and Terriyaki flavor. Each came with 10 flats. Order was $10. No tax no room service fee. We have a cash too to delivery lady.

  13. Definitely go with Carnival. They call it the Funship for good reason. NCL is more a la carte. We had to pay extra for the good shows, paid to bowl, out of 19 restaurants in the NCL Epic, most you had to pay extra. Lastly not as ma Bhai y activities. I am 50 and have been in 11 cruises and I keep going back to Carnival. Carnival never disappoints and is all inclusive for most part. Had a good time in NCL but always have a great time in Carnival.

  14. I am interested to see how lip sync battle plays out. It could be fun to watch or really cheesy.

I would enjoy carnival much more if they would swap venues and put the comedians on the big stage and move hasbro, love & marriage, etc. to the punchliners lounge since the comedy shows are always so crowded.
