Does anyone know where the policy is located on line? I'm trying to find out about gratuities and taking alcohol on board. I could only fine one that said, 'no alcohol' but I thought that had changed.
Thanks

seating in the theatre is fine ... do as cb suggests, go check it out ahead of time, and pick out a spot you like ... then make sure you get to the scheduled show ahead of time to give yourself a better choice of seat ... and I am assuming that you will book the shows ahead of time ...
Will do! Thank you :)

Posted in your RCL thread on the same topic...
Confused posting

You mean in 270? The seating layout is different from usual so there are some places that traditionally would be available but aren't. But as above, just scope it out in advance so you know where you'd like to sit then head there at the time. Still lots of good places.
Sorry! I meant the main theatre on deck 5

I've read lots of reviews saying just how bad the views of the stage are in the theatre.
Does anyone have any recommendations on where we should sit?
-
I've read lots of comments about how badly the theatre is designed and how terrible the views of the stage are.
Can anyone recommend the best places to sit as apparently there aren't many?

Just saw the following on an Oz online TA site:
Voyager of the Seas
12 nights 31/1/17
South Pacific ex Sydney

Received in reply to my query re balcony discounts:
'Thank you for your enquiry.
I can see that there is a separate promotion available for a crown and anchor balcony discount however this is not combinable with the current promotion for Voyager of the Seas departing 31 January 2017. '

Ovation of the Seas domestic sectors from the SIN-SYD 30 November sailing are still on sale at present.

Ovation 30 November Singapore-Hobart and Singapore-Melbourne sold out.
Sale now extended to 26 October

Is this for the chartered cruises (Singapore to Sydney)?
Yes it is.
OVATION OF THE SEAS EXCLUSIVE CHARTER
OFFER VALID UNTIL 14 SEPTEMBER 2016!!!
-
Sale now extended until 16 September.
Could this perhaps have something to do with the removal of DD?
Just a thought (or not)
Grief! Just realized what I wrote. I wonder if they meant November but it does say September on their site.
They might be remembering pre DD removal outcry times :D

I expect you will. You should still have your booking numbers by about a month out, and then activities will open up soon after.
Apparently we're supposed to get our booking numbers about 2 weeks out so I hope there are plenty of booking spaces left

I've heard that some reservations are only available to be booked on the ship. Here's a tip that I read on the RCI board to avoid missing out: Download the Royal IQ app on your phone before leaving home. Plan to arrive at the OPT very early. While you're waiting in the queues to check in, you can actually connect to the ship's WiFi and get onto the Royal IQ app. Make all your reservations before everyone else!
Brilliant advice zxc. Thank you! :D

OK. So now we've missed out on DD.
I'm hoping that we don't miss out on activities, shows etc because of the lateness of our booking numbers. :(
-
Does anyone know if we will be able to prebook activities on Ovation? I wondering about those of us on the charter and whether we'll miss out due to the lateness of getting our booking numbers.

This was the link for the new non dynamic dinning menu. From the RCI rep

This truly is a 'non Dynamic Dining' menu.
-
Just received:
Thank you for your email.
Royal Caribbean have made a decision to remove Dynamic Dining from all its ships meaning you will now have to select early, late, or my time dining prior to boarding.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Hi all from all that I have read and heard via email and then talking to the Australian RCI rep at a recent cruise expo here in WA. DD is most definitely gone those on My Time will be allocated into silk or American Icon for the duration of your cruise. Very disappointing. My only thought is to have breakfast in Grande or we will never see it.

Are the menus in all 4 restaurants the same or does each specialize in a particular cuisine? It would be shame if we were stuck with one type of food for the duration.
-
I received a call from my TA today saying that there wouldn't be DD on Ovation and to think about other dining options prior to our cruise.
Who knows what's going on!?
I hope they make a formal statement soon.
-
Thanks for that. From reading the actual reviews it sounds like I've made a massive mistake in making a booking. I can't even get my head around some of what's being reported. :(
-
Any handy info, tips, warnings or anything else for first timers on Ovation?
-
I wanted to include a screenshot but didn't know how. Anyway, if you're looking for a cheap cruise don't do this one.
This is the fare quoted for an RCI cruise, interior with virtual balcony for 2;
$3, 999, 999, 996.00
Maybe it's the price for 2 people chartering the ship??????!!!!!

Does anyone know of any good non-ship tours at these ports? All the RCI tours are on the expensive side for a family.:(
